Good topic! It will educate both men and women who want to modify their looks. FP things. |
In recent times, Ghanaian couples have started something rather intriguing: husbands have started sponsoring their wives to go in for better shaped and firmer breasts with straight-pointed nipples just like those of the Umoja Dancers of South Africa, NEWS-ONE has gathered. The information reveals that the “in thing” now is that apart from the search for firmer boobs, men are also sponsoring their partners to reshape their buttocks, make their stomachs flatter and generally enhance their body shape. The practice, known as liposuction, is done right here in Ghana and is said to be the secret of several Ghanaian ladies who seem to be growing younger and sexier than their actual ages. Men generally enjoy an ego boost when told how pretty their partners appear and this may be why they are willing to pay for this new body enhancement phenomenon. Checks from the only hospital in Ghana where liposuction is done showed that most of the women returned to give enviable testimonies of how their marriages had become better, with their husbands loving them even more, after going through procedure. Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh of the Obengfo Hospital at Weija in Accra told NEWS-ONE that “this has actually saved many marriages from collapse. There are many women who are crying silently that they do not like the shape of their body and this is eating them up but after the procedure we do here, they get some self-confidence, inner satisfaction and are very proud of how they look. Nothing shows they have done lipo and no one can see. So yes, couples have confirmed they are happier after the procedure.” Asked if the procedure was done for only women, Dr. Obeng-Andoh said it could be done for men also. “Even men with breasts that look that those of women can now have treatment to make them look normal. People no longer have to worry and have nightmares about the size and shape of their body because we now have the treatment in Ghana. It takes some maximum of four hours and you remain awake all through the procedure.” He said his facility now has some of the most modern equipment in liposuction and that he performs buttocks lifts, advanced body sculpt, thigh/hip lifts, liposuction, scarless boob enhancement and could even make pot bellies disappear for both men and women. “We sit here in Ghana and watch others on TV appearing very fit with flat tummy although they have children and we wonder what they have done to their bodies. It is not all, about exercises. Many of them have done some of these things but until recently it was not possible to do it here. “This is good. If you do not like the shape of your body and it is bothering you, change it. It can be changed within one to four hours. You would be awake through the pain-free procedure and walk home with very minimal and hard to recognize traces that you have even done something.” Source: NEWS-ONE http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/entertainment/artikel.php?ID=297415 |

Unbelievable! |
Liberia's education minister says she finds it hard to believe that not a single candidate passed this year's university admission exam. Nearly 25,000 school-leavers failed the test for admission to the University of Liberia, one of two state-run universities. The students lacked enthusiasm and did not have a basic grasp of English, a university official told the BBC. Liberia is recovering from a brutal civil war that ended a decade ago. 'Dreams shattered' President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, a Nobel peace laureate, recently acknowledged that the education system was still "in a mess", and much needed to be done to improve it. Many schools lack basic education material and teachers are poorly qualified, reports the BBC's Jonathan Paye-Layleh from the capital, Monrovia. However, this is the first time that every single student who wrote the exam for a fee of $25 (£16) has failed, our reporter says. It means that the overcrowded university will not have any new first-year students when it reopens next month for the academic year. Students told him the result was unbelievable and their dreams had been shattered, our reporter adds. Education Minister Etmonia David- Tarpeh told the BBC Focus on Africa programme that she intended to meet university officials to discuss the failure rate. "I know there are a lot of weaknesses in the schools but for a whole group of people to take exams and every single one of them to fail, I have my doubts about that," Ms David-Tarpeh said. "It's like mass murder." Ms David-Tarpeh said she knew some of the students and the schools they attended. "These are not just schools that will give people grades. I'd really like to see the results of the students," she added. University spokesman Momodu Getaweh told Focus on Africa that the university stood by its decision, and it would not be swayed by "emotion". "In English, the mechanics of the language, they didn't know anything about it. So the government has to do something," he said. "The war has ended 10 years ago now. We have to put that behind us and become realistic." Source: bbc |

Well done Ghana navy |
Please I don't know whether this is the right place to paste this. Forgive ne if I am wrong |
Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, Minister of Defence, has lauded the Ghana Navy for its meritorious work which had led to it being adjudged the Best Performing Navy in West Africa for 2013 by the Security Watch Africa Magazine. He said the Ghanaian coast had become an island of stability in the turbulent Gulf of Guinea maritime domain which had earned it the respect of all interested in maritime issues. Mr Woyongo said this on Friday during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of phase two of the Naval Headquarters. The project, when completed, would have a Command Block, Administration Block, Operations and Supply Block, a Library, a Technical Office, a Museum, Conference Rooms, Cafeteria and other ancillary facilities. He commended the Navy for the arrest of MV Mustard which was found to have been used to siphon fuel off MV Cotton, a ship that had been hijacked off the coast of Gabon, and another ship which was found to contain over 400 kilogrammes of cocaine. He added that due to diligent work by the Ghana Navy, the coast of Ghana had not witnessed a single pirate attack throughout the year making the country a safe haven for ships waiting to go to ports in neighbouring countries. Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Rear Admiral Geoffrey Mawuli Biekro, said a blue-print for the construction of a new office complex was produced in 1996. He expressed appreciation to private organisations and individuals for coming to the aid of the Ghana Navy by helping them with funds and building materials to now continue with the construction of the office complex. He said the Navy recognised the heavy responsibility upon its shoulders and the expectations of the country and pledged their readiness to ensure safety and security of all vital national assets at sea. He commended Government for its commitment to the Navy despite limited resources, citing the acquisition of ships in recent years, the upgrading of the Navy’s workshop at Sekondi and other planned acquisitions that had received the Government’s approval. Three Nigerians who allegedly cloned visa cards and unlawfully withdrew money from the bank accounts of several individuals have been arrested by the Cantonments District Police in Accra. The suspects — Tony Anderson, businessman; Seun Okhon, student, and Kelvin Benedict Aesida, a car dealer — are said to have illegally withdrawn a total of GH¢22,450. Cloning of cards means the creation of identical cards. Illegal immigration status Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Cantonments District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Alex Kumangtani, said the suspects had so far failed to prove their professional status with the requisite documents. He further stated that the suspects did not have passports or any documents from the Ghana Immigration Service, making their stay in Ghana illegitimate. According to Mr Kumangtani, the suspects belonged to a complex criminal network that specialised in cloning visa cards for criminal activities. The modus operandi He said the suspects executed their illegal but well-crafted plan by installing electronic devices at several automated teller machine (ATM) centres. These included a rectangular-shaped device that contains two mobile phone batteries, a camera lens and some wires. Mr Kumangtani said that particular device was installed at the upper section of the ATM and it captured the code number of an ATM card when it was being used by an unsuspecting ATM subscriber. Another device, which he said was green and oval shaped, was installed at the card insertion point on the ATM. He said that device retrieved all the security data on the ATM card used by the unsuspecting card user. Those two devices, according to Mr Kumangtani, enabled the suspects to transfer all security details of an original ATM card onto another fake card for onward illegal money withdrawals and purchases. Arresting the criminals According to Mr Kumangtani, on November 23, 2013, the three suspects went to a mobile phone shop at the Accra Mall and purchased five phones, valued at GH¢22,450, using nine cloned visa cards. The Retail Manager of the shop, on satisfying himself that the suspects were acting suspiciously, called the police. When they were arrested, a thorough search was conducted on them and items suspected to be cloned visa cards were found on them.
