As far as I know it is due to our copy-copy mentality. We copied high roofs from other countries without knowing why they were popular- especially countries where it snows, unlike Nigeria.

A steeper incline will allow the snow to fall more easily of the roof.

First of all ask your Employer whether their request is or is not in contravention of the GDPR (general data protection regulation).

It most likely contravenes GDPR because it invades your privacy, both before, during and even after your employment with them.

Ask your employer if there is another approach to achieving their purpose that is not law breaching and privacy invading. You can also come up with strategic options which you can propose.

This might actually be a test. Stand on Law, Your right to privacy and common sense.

The title of this article alone, is at best funny and fishy. Which one is best stock market in the world again?

According to who? Based on what parameters? And how has that affected the price of fish in the market for the common Nigerian.

Of all countries to compare Nigeria with its Argentina- are we sure it’s not first from behind?

People are no longer moved by these meaningless metrics.

I think you need to think twice and check yourself first, before calling other people dumb.

It is the start of a new year and most Christians do practice the act of fresh fruits whereby your first salary in the year or fresh profit of business, first money of your new marriage etc is given to the church.
In this harsh agbado economy in Nigeria,is it possible to practice the act of giving first fruits.

According to the Christ- “He that is faithful in little , will be faithful in much” . It is in this economy we will know who are the sincerely cheerful givers.

The ones who understands that whatever they have is not their own for they are owned by God Who is sufficient and able to meet all there needs according to his riches in glory.

seunmsg:

The above is wrong and not the case. Tunji-Ojo did not award any contract to a company he has interest in unlike Peter Obi that diverted public funds to his family business. Tunji-Ojo is the Minister of Interior and the company in question won a consultancy contract advertised and implemented by Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. There is no conflict of interest whatsoever.

Again, the company in question has been in existence doing business with various governments since 2009. Tunji-Ojo resigned as a director of the Company since 2019 and has not participated in running the company since then.

The company in question won a contract after following due process as laid down in the Public Procurement Act just like every other company that won contracts in the Ministry. If not for evil agenda, why single out only the company? Is there a law that says the company can no longer bid for and win contracts in accordance with Public Procurement Act because it was founded by a minister? Should the company stop doing business or what?

Another one of those people that can never comment without mentioning Peter Obi. Obi is living rent free in your head and heart.

Let us make this clear to Nairalanders that do not understand what exactly is going on,
Here you have it....

This document we are talking about showed that the payment of the N585.198 million grant, meant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun and Lagos states, was made into one Bridget Oniyelu’s account.
However, reacting to this the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister,
Rasheed Zubair said N585.198 million payment for the vulnerable group followed due process.

From all of us at MANNA, this is our take on this issue,
Personal money shall in no circumstances be paid into a government bank account,
nor shall any public money be paid into a private bank account.

An officer who pays public money into a private account is deemed to have done so with fraudulent intention.
This is what Obi Pandora did in Anambra State that we are against.
Stealing the state money and transferring it to his family account.
He frittered away their state treasury to fund his family business as revealed in Pandora papers.
Being caught with 250 million in cash!
We say no to FRAUD in all ramifications.

A better Nigeria 🇳🇬 all around is all we want.

We Rise ✔️

I can’t understand how we got from there to here except that Peter Obi is obviously living rent free in your head.,

A rare occasion when Omokri is making sense, at least about the problem. Not sure if banning is the best solution -especially if government can take a significant chunk of the revenu,?especially for stuff like youth and sports development.
Career / Re: Should I Quit My 30k Job Or Continue And Hope For A Better Days by TheGift: 8:08pm On Jan 03
How can you live your life based on hoping for better days? Don’t you know that you have more control over your outcomes than anyone else? For 30k (our cleaner earns 62.5k for 4 days and we are wondering how she is coping and how to increase it significantlly) Don’t let your current state mAke you see 30k as something. It is nothing but money to barely live. But you can make it something. Warren buffet says ,and I agree ,that anyone who is poor has a better chance of breaking the cycle of poverty if they become entrepreneurs than if they just get a job to get by. Think of something you can do with 1% or 10% of that 30k, grow it to 30k and keep repeating the process as your money grows. Within 6 months you might be able to pay yourself 30k a month and still keep the business growing. That is how most millionaires and billionaires make money. And many of them started from nothing.

If you need more clarity and direction , feel free to reach out. (FYI: I am not selling anything)

Couple of ladies have called me big head and I know that my head is not big. Now I know I'm not the only guy being called big head.

I've searched online but can't seem to find straight answers to what it really means. Can anyone tell me what it really means?

So because a couple of Women called you “Big head” it means women always call men big head?

Well, I don’t remember any woman ever call me “big head” , so…not all women call all men “big head”.

Don’t be quick to generalize, it may just be something about you, the Women you are attracting and/or the environmental/cultural context where you guys. Are attracting each other.

This advice is for people that come from families that do not value family. But place money above everything. As long as the person is taking care of their responsibilities and not begging or stealing ,why should they be ashamedly comparing with anyone, talk less of their siblings.

Thank God I don’t come from that kind of family. Everyone plays their part for family responsibilities, no one is looking to anybody else to take care of their own family business. Even though we know we would all contribute to support anyone of us in need.

GenderMix:
Dear Family,

I have been having this back and forth debate with my wife regarding cooking soup with groundnut oil as against red oil but she is on the negative. I had cooked Egusi soup with groundnut oil and it taste really nice. I had also done same with okra sea food and its really nice. The reason why I want to do away with red oil is because I have been advised on my cholesterol level and the odour from palm (red) oil doesn't sit well with me these days.

I want to serve my visitors Egusi soup prepared with groundnut oil but she's declined because she's not sure how it will be received....lol

Does anyone have experiences with cooking soups with only groundnut oil and how does it taste. okra, bitterleaf, oha, vegetable, edikaikong, egusi, etc

Except you are a chef by profession , let your wife have a final say on such homely matters. Even if you are a good cook. Don’t let something ad random as culinary preference now become an issue
Politics / Re: Trending On Quora: "Why Are Nigerians Fleeing Nigeria" by TheGift: 5:38pm On Dec 29, 2023
Mostly based on fear of the future, a loss of faith in the governance system, wrong assumptions about the quality of life in other countries, pressures from friends and spouses (especially wives) ignorance about life on the other side,

lack of strategic thinking due to all of the above .

Note: I said “mostly “ not in all cases.
