nefertitiram: What's my own? It is because I wasted my mb and finger power to analyse a situation. Nobody kukuma sent me . God forbid, if any mama has to stay back because of issues, don't apply for extension o! Just sit it out and bank on explaining yourself when it's time for renewal and expect VO to smile and give you a pat on the back.
Since I am not a god in these matters, a simple google search would have helped. For those who have stayed over 1 year in US, please see below: I didn't even realise how stiff the penalty for overstaying is. Thanks for this. |

LadyGuinivere: Chloe is right . Nigerian customary marriage is not akin to either civil union or common law marriage. Common law marriage has no ceremony but the couple live together for a coupla years and are seen as married. Civil union is not recognized in some countries eg same sex marriages. Like somebody said, others is more appros. My question however is, why do u want to change your status in the space of one month? Your matter already has k leg now u want them to 'mark you bad' sef before u enter the exam hall.the whoever accessing your form and interview notes may not even give u an opportunity to explain the difference and just chalk it to fraudulent intentions #myopinion
@Chloe Love a Lawyer! It is Legal Exactly but to be honest I feel like this present application should be more about straightening the K and bow Legs and being honest. Stating her intentions and status as it is. If she becomes successful based on it fine, if she doesn't at leat she'd have told her truth. If next year or in 2018 she gets pregnant again, upon application those details would help her build trust. Shout to my learned colleagues @chloe7 and I'm guessing you too LadyG |

MomSomyy: I now know better. Honestly never imagined all this was going to happen/pose a problem for me considering that my baby birth in the US was truly unplanned. The moment I was stamped in for 6months at POE I just thought to have the baby at once since my stay was legally documented u get? Paid all my bills and specifically got all zero balances. If u noticed I didn't even reapply immediately I got back (because that would show you have no ties back home, because typically you are to wait a while after staying for 6months based on information I read) waited out for a WHOLE year. This 2nd pregnancy self was not planned, came in unexpectedly .Personally I know the MAJOR problem that will arise during my nextweek interview would be Why My Travel Intent Changed From Vacation Lastweek to Birthing Baby this week? Even though they both fall under b2 visa. That alone is my GREATEST Worry (Even Though I was never asked any pregnancy related question) I still feel changing Travel Intent Within a Week is wrong from their perspective tho. I know deep down that part can't really be Justified except God intervenes of course. I pray God favors me sha. Just wondering what you do for a living. I'm really just trying to help when I say this. You can't convince a VO that your initial decision to stay and have a baby was unplanned and still prove you have ties back home. If you have a job for example, how do you suddenly just decide you're not going back to work you'd rather stay for months in the US to have a baby? It doesn't seem logical. I'm not sure there's anyway you can truly explain how you could just decide based on a 6 month stamp in that everything in Nigeria could wait and you would just stay to have a baby in the US. Please consider this before you tell a VO again that it wasn't planned. |

MomSomyy: Hello, thanks for taking out your time to reply me. Ok so the thing is I was not faced with much questions or difficulties during my interview last week because all the VO asked was why do I want to go to the same state I went to previously and I said for Vacation, He now asked me duration of my last visit I said 6month which was the truth and he went ahead to ask what I was doing there for that long and I answered birth my child and immediately I brought out my zero balance to show him, he collected it went through it and started typing and handed me the section 214b refusal paper (that refusal is based on having no strong ties to ones country from what I have read) so now the issue is back to your no 1) suggestion I have a family I am to stay with and they have sent a letter which I used in filling the last week application and they are still willing for me to stay with them also, so I was thinking I should still maintain that contact so I don't contradict every part of my application, also to your no 3) I am married traditionally now with my baby dad but yet to do court n white (after this delivery we would do that) but while filling the form that got me denied last week I filled single because I didn't know if they accepted our traditional marriage or not. So now I want to state that I am married traditionally and take pictures with me to show. Will that be good enough ties? Or you advice I don't take my child with me? He's just 1yr+ and very glued to me Questions in the interview are prompted by what you've filled in your form. If you want those questions asked so you can provide clarification on it then it is essential that you get them into the form one way or the other. It's your decision to make what story you'd like your form to tell about you but my advice is for you to tell the exact true story relating to this visa so that even if you get a denial, next time they can refer back and see that you were being honest. That's how people rebuild trust. |

MomSomyy: Hello house, great work you all are doing here I must say. Please I have an issue that requires a quick intervention. I applied for a b1/b2 visa to attend a 2weeks event and come back, and was given a b1 1 month visa (annotation) 2014 after been denied in 2013 for the same event (its yearly), got to ATL Poe and I was stamped in for 6 months as against the 2weeks I initially put in my application to stay since I was pregnant as at then (6months and VO was not aware) and was stamped in for 6months, I decided to stay back and have the baby there after the said event. I paid all my bills in full got my zero balances to show. Got back to Nig, waited for a year and now reapplied last week hoping to renew my visa b1/b2 visit visa. Getting to the interview the VO asked couple of questions which to the best of my knowledge I answered truthfully (no current pregnancy related questions, although I am currently pregnant and plan to birth the baby there) after the interview I was denied 214b. Now I urgently want to reapply because I want to birth my second baby there. How do I go about it please? Also my child has been really sick, sheduled an appointment with his pediatrician successfully. Should I just reapply saying I am taking him for medical reason or just apply saying I want to go birth my second baby? (Hoping the change in travel intent does not disqualify me) Or just reapply and stick to the same travel intent I was just denied of? Please house help as I don't want to be denied again please and also don't want to appear so desperate to the VO (considering I was just denied last week). Thank you house. Quick response please because I am currently 30weeks gone (with a small bump tho) Hope you are doing well. While I would have preferred thag you do not reapply at this time, if you insist on reapplying I would suggest that you do the following and make your reapplication more about being honest and starting to establish trust again with the embassy than about wanting to obtain the B2 visa at all costs. Please consider the following if you can. 1. When filling the form state as much as you can to clearly show that you intend to have a baby again in the US. E.g in reason for refusal, tell the absolute truth about all that has transpired. In contact information use your intended doctor etc. In length of stay estimate and state the actual time you truly intend to stay. 2. I would advise against bringing in this baby needs to see a pediatrician angle. Quite frankly it looks to me like you're trying to anchor on your baby being a citizen to get a visa. This is not favourable to someone who is trying to prove non-immigrant intent in a visa application. 3. On whether you should even travel with your child or state that you're doing so. Would it be easy for you to establish any other ties to Nigeria (considering you already said you're not married to the the baby daddy?) What other ties can you rely on? 4. Ensure all documentation is available for the appointment ie doctor and hospital appointment, your budget etc. 5. Please don't state anything about having a sudden medical emergency while on the annotated visa, just tell the whole truth and be prepared to face the consequences. 6. In the event of an unfavourable interview please accept it as the consequence of your mistakes and do not reapply until circumstances have truly changed preferably on another pregnancy. 7.in the event of a favourable interview please do not exceed the stated time you applied with, pay your bills and return once you're done. Ensure that you use the doctor/hospital as stated in your application. I sincerely wish you the best. |

simababe: @leakytribe, my case dey baba God hands ooo. I wasn't given during first delivery here in 9ja cos blood group was showing AB+ only for me to do another test during this pregy n my obgyn said it's AB-. I've done the test like 6times n it's still -ve so I'm really concerned cos my doc isn't sure if I was given during the last delivery. So since I'm planin on delivering in us that's y I want to knw if they do charge for it separately. The problem is they only give Rhogam when your RH is negative so if your naija test showed AB+ then I doubt that you got it.but they should give it to you even before you get to the US this time oh. About 28 weeks I think. I don't think the charge is high even if they charge here. |

It is my turn to share my testimony.
My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.
The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.
Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma. |

bepop: I was given a follow up visit by the hospital i used for a pediatrician. seems it is the usual practice that baby should see doctor after being discharged at the hospital. I haven't been able to go out since cos i am still recovering from some delivery pains i had. Please is this visit compulsory for those who have heard about it. Thanks Baby's wellness checkup is important. They need to check to make sure baby is adapting well at home and also gaining the required weight back. I definitely wouldn't want to take my new born baby on a trip back without seeing a doctor. |

Zumabeezle: Hi everyone. The last time i posted on here was when i did renewal via dropbox but was called for interview and denied a visa. I reapplied and was interviewed a month later. And to the glory of God i was granted the visa. I was already heavily pregnant so i had to travel immediately. I didn't get PTA in Abuja. I travelled at 34 weeks 6days via airfrance. At d airport, i had to do another fit to fly at port health. Requested wheelchair so journey was easy. Got into the USA via Houston POE. wheelchair service took me to d front. Was immediately sent for secondary inspection. I had just 2000usd on me. I had paid hospital and doctor's fees before i got in so i just showed them my receipts. They were nice and friendly. Two of them interviewed me at d same time. It was fun for me. I invited them to Nigeria so i could give one of them a Nigerian wife. Lol. Got stamped in for 6months. He however told me to come with my receipts every time i travel coz they will always ask me. And that they know about nairaland. That Nigeria is d only country that has such a forum. I laughed and said sharing information is free and legal. He said well that's true. That we should just tell our pple to pay their bills. Congratulations. Great news. Meanwhile has anyone heard from Onlineise and Emeriem just thought about them today. Not sure I got the names right sha. |

SOMETIMES being Nigerian alone can rob you of your simple pride. It stings when people doubt your words first without a benefit of doubt just because of the passport you carry. God help us and may God make Nigeria great again sooner than later. This is why it's important that we keep encouraging others on this thread to be honest in all their dealings. It's not enough to complain, we should do all we can to restore pride to our Nations name. Long post, no vex. I felt bad reading that story. |

Amother4life: Thanks for the information but there was simply no option on the POS terminal in krogers to run the useless transaction as credit or debit. It just showed hit the continue button and then enter pin. Pin approved and the lady looked up at me and whispered the magic words...it won't let me process it. I had to pull out my card and leave because of the queue behind me.I simply can't be pulling out $120 everyday and paying $3 atm fee and #240 standbicibtc fee. It's sad that we have been reduced to this level. Was yours approved as credit in Walmart or Sams club? I may try those instead. Yeah it worked. I also noticed that some days I couldn't exceed a certain limit and later realised it's cos of the daily limits on the card ( for example if I go out with uber and already get charged once or twice for maybe a total of ($20). Then at the POS any transaction higher than 310 would fail. I just remove things and bone face cos the embarrassment no be here. The timing also matters, so you also have to space the days on which you use the card. Pele oh.
