Yes that's what I mean too.
Blockchain interviews are just more of "show your portfolio" kinda thing.

The space is relatively new, hence a lot of informalities are used in the process. It even gets easier when you have a strong web 2 background.

Web development is certainly not saturated. Not anytime soon. Yes there are far more web developers than other field professionals in tech, but the jobs in web development still outnumbers those from other fields.

When the number of professionals are more than the demand, then you can say it's saturated.

I took test for data science/analysis. They said I will be notified on July 12 if I'm selected or not. It was 20 questions of python nd sql. I didn't actually prepare before the test. I pray I make it. One question pls, can someone apply for more than one course?

Most of my jobs have a fixed price anyway. Not broken down into rates.

I'm a technical (content) writer. There's a difference.
If you're talking about the latter, well, just like I stated earlier in this thread, start writing about anything you're learning or you've learnt while coding or designing, as the case may be.

When you've got a couple of solid articles, start applying for technical writing jobs (short term ones).

Later today, I would compile a list of sites one could apply to for jobs. I hope I don't forget.

There really isn't any one-size-fits-all template here, everyone's story in tech differs. What matters is you follow the tips that have been proven to bring results.

Sorry bro, before you do any take-home test next time, read up their Glassdoor comments. People would have warned not to do the take home assessments. I would advice going to Glassdoor to drop a comment on their company page about what they did, so others will learn.

Also, one red flag is that once you apply to a company & they send you a take home test without speaking to you first on a call, 9/10 they are scammers.

Omo, I've been hearing of this stuff happening but now it's very glaring. Wow

From my experience so far, I've come to find out that a genuine take home test shouldn't be looking too "enterprise" standard.

It would always look very "basic-skill testing" kinda way, that would allow room for evaluating if you can apply the basics of your stack pretty well. Then it is usually followed by a technical interview afterwards.

Mine last year was just to write a code to iterate a tree. Just 3 lines of code. I didnt know. A japa job that I had suffered to reach the final stage.

You would have figured it out if you just started writing something sha. At least a for loop or a filter function or something haha.

That must have indeed been painful. I'm about to start learning DSA for the sake of future jobs. Hopefully I'm consistent enough

I had one last month, after breezing through the first 2 stages, I thought the last stage would be to discuss price, omoh, na so dem use DSA shock me oo. Funny enough, after that failure, I went and started studying DSA. Later discovered the question I was given is cheap. Has to do with Priority Queue

My interview was great. I'd rate it 8/10.

I was already in the meeting room online about 5 minutes to the start of time. The first question was the usual "tell us about yourself and your background".

I gave a brief narration about my work experience so far, (didn't let them know they were internships), also talked about some of my technical writing experience.

At this stage, I quickly chipped in on some of the open source works I've done. The CTO guy immediately developed keen interest when I mentioned open source.
I've actually been doing some beginner friendly open source contributions on GitHub. Both in code and in technical writing. The guy seemed to love that fact.
I made sure I use that moment to shine.

He asked me to show some of my open source contributions on GitHub, which I did.

Now, after about 30 minutes of chit chats, it was time for some technical rounds.
Unexpectedly, it was my projects on GitHub they decided to use to fire me questions.

They went through the different code on my GitHub and ask me questions. For instance, the guy would enter a file and see a block of code somewhere, he would ask me to explain what the code was doing, why I used that approach rather than another approach (which he would mention).

However, I would do my best to explain to the best of my memory and knowledge.

I made sure the interview was as communicative as possible. I expressed myself a lot.

So after one hour, they finally relaxed me.
Now it was time for me to ask them questions. So I decided to ask about their product. What their product really do and what the aim was in the near future.

So yeah, interview process differs, the main thing is to give them a reason to employ you.

But as for DSA, well, that's different lol.
Not all companies use DSA, that must have been a very high paying job role.

They gave me a specific time they'd get back to me, so fingers crossed.
