Having plans of how to manage federal funds without planing for the states is one disadvantage. Let them prepared visions for states and ensure they follow suit to revamp the economy. If not, it will be efforts in futility.

It is obvious that you are naive or too sympathetic to obvious news on net.
There is increase in naira denomination the allocation due to the states even though it doesn't come close to the expected amount they are supposed to received as a result of subsidy removal and excess crude sales amount. That is not enough for governors to switch allegiance because that is state money.
Some governors make the claim and it was not my personal assumption that governors and representatives got money from president tinubu. Personal money and not state or constituencies money. More was given for some others to decamp to the presidents party. It sounds like rubbish but numbers can not lie. We have 31 or so governors in APC currently and the number for reps and Senate is there. It's no longer an assumption or imagination. That is the reason such claim can not be debated by any rational Nigerian. So, I consider you non rational Nigerian, in other words, a sellout.

Do you even know that Nigeria is having a windfall in oil revenue? Our budget was approved with benchmark of crude oil at about $65 per barrel. Now crude rose to over $120 per barrel. Do you know the revenue gained against the budget benchmark? Have you heard about any excess crude revenue?

Yet Government can not at least sell crude a little above the budget benchmark to local refineries to turn the nation around. Some people are blinded by benefits.
Some are blinded by tribalism.
Some a blinded by lack of knowledge.
But the worst of the are those blinded by hate even though they know the truth.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Mastercard have launched AgroPass, a digital platform designed to expand access to finance, markets and agricultural services for smallholder farmers across Nigeria.

The platform, developed by Mastercard, connects farmers with input suppliers, buyers, lenders, agribusinesses, and other participants in the agricultural value chain, aiming to strengthen financial inclusion and improve productivity in one of Nigeria’s most important economic sectors. The launch combines Mastercard's technology capabilities with FCMB's network and presence in farming communities across the country.

Speaking at the launch event in Lagos, Yemisi Edun, Managing Director, FCMB, represented by Obaro Odeghe, Executive Director, Wholesale Banking, said:

“Supporting farmers means more than offering credit. It is about building connections to finance, markets, technology, knowledge and opportunity. AgroPass is a platform that empowers farmers to become more productive, resilient and commercially successful. By bridging critical gaps across the value chain, we can help build a more sustainable future for agriculture.”

Edun said FCMB provided more than 364.6 billion naira ($236 million) in financing to Nigeria’s agricultural sector last year and supported more than 196,000 smallholder farmers nationwide. Nearly half of the beneficiaries were women and young people.

Agriculture remains a critical pillar of Nigeria's economy, contributing more than 20% of GDP and supporting a significant share of employment across the country. Despite its importance, many smallholder farmers still face barriers to accessing financing, quality inputs, market opportunities, and technical support.

To address these gaps, FCMB has adopted a value-chain financing model that extends support across the agricultural ecosystem, including input suppliers, seed companies, farmers, processors, distributors and exporters.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State chapter has endorsed Governor Monday Okpebholo for a second term, citing the development projects his administration has executed across the state.

The State Chairman of the party, Mr Jarrett Tenebe, announced the decision on Friday at the grand finale of the APC grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, held in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.

Tenebe said the State Working Committee (SWC) reviewed the governor's performance and was satisfied with the projects it saw in the three senatorial districts.

According to him, the party toured Edo South and Edo North before rounding off in Edo Central.

"We have been going around the three senatorial districts, starting from Edo South, Edo North, and now rounding off in Edo Central to see the development taking place.

"Considering the development going on and the massive support the governor enjoys, I do not think we can afford to wait before taking this decision," he said.

He then asked members of the committee present to endorse the governor, which they did. Tenebe said the decision reflected the party's confidence in Okpebholo's leadership.

The chairman also restated the party's commitment to rallying support for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and said he was confident Edo would deliver 2.5 million votes for the president.

Responding, Okpebholo thanked Tenebe and the committee members for the endorsement and for their support of his administration. He said he valued the party's solidarity but urged members to keep working together and stay focused on the party's objectives. He also expressed confidence in President Tinubu's leadership.

Earlier, the Vice Chairman of the APC in Edo, Mr Sylvester Aigboboh, listed projects the governor had carried out in one year and 11 months in office. These include road construction, recruitment of teachers and the upgrading of health facilities.

Benue State Government House did electricity bypass for years so they were relatively enjoying 'technically' instituted subsidy on electricity.

Now, allegedly, instead of buying prepaid code for N5,000,000, the messenger would buy for 50k and pocket the balance. This 50k code can take the duration that the N5 million would've probably taken them on a normal deal. But there was a bypass that substitutes for the money.

But luck ran out on the person or people doing the shady deals.

They were caught by the authorities and fined N50 million by JEDC.

Instead of simply paying, they mobilized thugs, went and assaulted the JEDC Makurdi manager and other staff.

Out of reciprocity, anger and vengeance, the electricity distribution company switched off most of their substations that supply most part of the state electricity.

For three days now, the entire state is in darkness. And economically, more than the fined N50 million must have been expended on private power generation like fueling and buying diesel or solar.

Institutional corruption is a menace.
The problem is not the government but the people in government. The government released fund but the group responsible for the payment of the bill has other plans.
Government will be bragging of them fulfilling their obligations not knowing the end users are not getting the benefits due to them.
That is the problem of having a naive government. You should elect people that can interact with the end users freely. They see the truth from afar.

First, subsidy is on imported petroleum products. So removing subsidy requires you fix the refinery with the proceeds or build a new working refinery. That was not done so the president failed in subsidy fund management.

On floating the naira, it is very wrong seeing that most products are imported. What Goodluck did and Buhari followed suit was to subsidize exchange rate of some imported products to keep them relatively low for Citizens. CBN top officials took advantage of this and made themselves extra wealthy while the country suffers shortfalls. The best action was for government to tackle the corruption in CBN and bring sanity to it while working on cutting down on these subsidized products by embarking on massive local production. Buhari attempted it that a rice pyramid was erected in Abuja but all was gimmick by corrupt officials in his cabinet who rebagged imported products and made themselves extra wealthy siphoning allocations meat for the local production.

President Tinubu action was to float the exchange rate without any action to cushion the effect. The only action he thought necessary was to give more money to the governors to clear salaries of the few civil servants and share rice to some few who will end up singing on your mandate we stand. Note that there was no significant expansion in the civil service employees because the government has convinced themselves that they don't have business with production and entrepreneurship. They all have excess money and are somehow echoing the words of yakubu gowon in their heads, that "The problem of Nigeria is not money but how to spend it" while the majority of the populace suffers in poverty.

Statement that Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world sounds like lies and an attempt to discredit this government who has failed to see the effect of their actions.

They are making efforts to recruit more armed forces who have no business in productive economy. They end up training people who will end up using the arms against those who on their own engaged in economic activities that is building the nation without government support.

They have ministry of works whose staff have no economic output. They have research institutions with allocated farmlands but farmers have to source for less economic viable seeds and rely on expensive fertilisers produced by private businesses for manageable yield.
They have ministry of mines and industry whose duty is to look for illegal miners who share the proceeds with them without it getting to the government coffers. No industries owned by these ministries producing some of the items we import with our foreign exchange.

We can not say all the ills of this government. But they choose to go after the benefits of the masses while they protect their own ills. They now have more entourage to any foreign trip that wastes our foreign exchange and are augmenting these expenses by widening the tax net.

This is not governance.

And somehow, this increasingly gets packaged as: IGBO VERSUS YORUBA. What magnificent political mischief!

Because this is primarily a confrontation between COMPETING POLITICAL LOYALTIES, frequently dressed in ethnic clothing.

And the distinction matters. Today, three South-East governors belong to the APC. Anambra's Chukwuma Soludo has endorsed Tinubu, while Abia's Alex Otti has distinguished cooperation with the President from outright opposition.

Political figures including David Umahi, Anyim Pius Anyim, Orji Uzor Kalu and Benjamin Kalu are associated with the APC establishment.

The Ndigbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum is also organising regional mobilisation. SO WHICH IGBO PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSEDLY FIGHTING WHICH YORUBA PEOPLE?

The political map is no longer that simple. Recall 2023.

Obi's supporters generated extraordinary online excitement. But the digital battlefield has evolved. Pro-Tinubu mobilisation is increasingly organised and more and more pronounced in the social media and out of it , including within the South-East.

Whether that amounts to a measurable reversal in online popularity remains unproven. SOCIAL-MEDIA NOISE IS NOT AN ELECTORAL CENSUS.

Now comes Segun Showunmi's intervention. He argues that political hostility associated with some Obidients could undermine the alliances necessary for an Igbo presidency. There is a serious democratic question buried inside that warning.

WHEN DOES POLITICAL DISAGREEMENT BECOME ETHNIC BIGOTRY? Simple. When criticism of Peter Obi becomes hostility toward Igbo people. When opposition to Tinubu becomes contempt for Yoruba people.

When electoral rivalry becomes threats, exclusion or intimidation. Equally, ethnic insults directed at Yoruba citizens by anyone claiming to support Obi cannot be excused as political enthusiasm.

But there is another distinction. VOTING OVERWHELMINGLY FOR OBI IS NOT BIGOTRY. VOTING OVERWHELMINGLY FOR TINUBU IS NOT BIGOTRY.

A citizen owes no ethnic group an electoral apology. Indeed, the real danger is allowing partisan activists to manufacture permanent ethnic enemies out of temporary political opponents.

Yoruba citizens supported Obi in 2023. More and more Igbo citizens support Tinubu today. i know because internal scientific polling conducted by smartelectionguardpro reveals it.

These inconvenient facts should embarrass those who insist that every political disagreement must become an ethnic war. Nigeria's democracy must accommodate fierce political competition without collective ethnic blame.

CRITICISE THE CANDIDATE. CHALLENGE THE POLICY. CONFRONT THE ARGUMENT. But leave an entire ethnic nationality out of your quarrel.

Let me use myself, CharlesCNG, as an example. I DISLIKE PETER OBI'S POLITICS BUT ADMIRE DAVE UMAHI. Both are Igbo. I support Tinubu, but certainly not every Yoruba politician. So where is the ethnic hatred?

BIGOTRY IS MISTAKING MY OPPOSITION TO OBI FOR HATRED OF IGBO, CRITICISM OF TINUBU FOR HATRED OF YORUBA, OR MY SUPPORT FOR TINUBU FOR HOSTILITY TOWARD IGBO. What spectacular intellectual dishonesty!

This would have made sense if you have highlighted the ethnic group exercising intimidation. Is it those being threatened to be drawn in the lagoon that is intimidating others? Was it those threatened to be eliminated if they don't vote a predetermined candidate that is exercising intimidation? Was it those threatened to be sent back to their region that is exercising intimidation? Was it those who were stopped from coming to the polling units that ware exercising intimidation? Who is really the victim of this your imaginary intimidation that you are passionate about.?

You made the write-up about how people relate to your choice of candidate. That is called opposition because they have their own candidate.

But when your position chooses to maximise the pain of this opposition rather than tell them the good in your candidate, it is no longer democracy. It is pure bigotry. When your position chooses to demean the candidate you choose to hate while extolling his tribes man who pitched his camp with your candidate and party just to spit on the opposition, that is bigotry and not democracy.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is billed to unveil a tricycle factory and products in Abuja, on Wednesday, October 21.

The factory, Zeetin Technologies, located in Idu Industrial Area, assembles and also distributes the VZ150 and VZ200 tricycles in Nigeria.

According to a statement by the management of Zeetin Technologies, the establishment of the factory is aimed at boosting the nation’s economy, through local production of tricycle and related products.

The statement signed by the company’s Chairman, Mr Robert Azibaola, disclosed that Zeetin for Nigerians, is a promise that everything the company builds is built for the success of the person who buys the brand.

“Zeetin Technologies assembles the VZ150 and VZ200 tricycles at Idu Industrial Area, Abuja, in technical partnership with VIAR Motor Indonesia, a manufacturer with more than thirty years of three-wheeler engineering behind it.


“We are producing tricycles here in Nigeria to make it easier and cheaper for Nigeria’s smail businesses to move goods and people.

“The tricycle is the working vehicle of the market trader, the farmer bringing produce to town, the artisan, the distributor’s last mile and the commuter corridor”, the statement read in part.

While describing the economic case as a local one, Azibaola explained that every unit built at the factory carries Nigerian labor and Nigerian value, adding that, “technicians trained at VIAR’s works in Semarang and now working in Abuja; quality, planning, sales and after-sales staff; and around them, a growing network of dealers, service workshops and parts traders”.

He added that the first units built on the floor would be handed to their owners on the day of the launch.

He said the next is the deeper local content – components, and in time compressed natural gas and electric models – that turns a factory in Abuja into a production industry for Nigeria and Nigerians.

“This is a story of Nigerian industry being built at home: a new manufacturing plant in Abuja’s industrial district, built to serve the traders, farmers and commuters of the country”, he added.

Few minutes ago, there was sporadic gun shot from moving vehicle on the road . Currently, i do not know if the shootings were directed at any one or group but the sound of the gun shots is that of AK as multiple rounds were released at a go. There was response gun shot probably fired in the air by vigilantes but no uproar of any kind.

The details will come up by morning if it was a drill, escaping armed robbers or terrorist.

Given the time of this gun shots, my assumption is a deliberate incitement shots.
