Foreign AffairsRe: Pictorial Depiction Of Government Debt In Africa by thesolutions(m): 10:22am On Jul 21
nairalanda1:
Actually, a lot of african countries do borrow to build rail and road.

Kenya has a very lovely railway, that was built with borrowed money. Ghana even took loans for railways not too long ago

The problem is, most African countries rely on selling minerals and agric products to the international markets, as well as oyel. And guess what, we do not set the prices, so if prices are too too low, wahala dey for government budget and the treasury

So, loans result.
Not holding brief for him though
Building railways that generate revenue for government is good investment

BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Fixes Petrol Price In New Pricing Template by thesolutions(m): 9:07am On Jul 14
SultanYoung:
This is a Long read but it worth the time.

Imagine Musa owns a bakery.

To bake bread, Musa needs flour. The people selling him flour say:

> "Musa, from now on, you must pay for flour in US dollars, not in naira."

But Musa is selling his bread to customers in naira.

Now imagine this happens:

Today, $1 = ₦1,500

Musa sells bread and collects ₦1,500 for bread worth $1.

Tomorrow, the exchange rate changes:

$1 = ₦1,700

Now the ₦1,500 Musa collected yesterday is no longer enough to buy the same amount of flour. Musa loses money.

After losing money several times, Musa says:

> "Since I buy flour in dollars, I will also sell my bread in dollars."

That is exactly what Dangote Refinery has done.

Before now

Dangote was buying much of its crude oil in US dollars.

But it was selling petrol, diesel and aviation fuel in naira.

When the naira became weaker against the dollar, the refinery could lose money.

What has changed?

Dangote now says:

> "If marketers want to buy petrol from us, they must pay in dollars."

So instead of saying:

> Petrol costs ₦900 per litre

they now say:

> Petrol costs $0.779 per litre.

The actual naira price will depend on the exchange rate.

For example:

If $1 = ₦1,600

Then:

$0.779 × ₦1,600 = about ₦1,246 per litre

If the dollar rises to ₦1,800:

$0.779 × ₦1,800 = about ₦1,402 per litre

So if the dollar goes up, petrol prices will likely go up too.

What does "ex-depot price" mean?

This is simply the price marketers pay at the refinery gate before adding:

Transportation costs

Storage costs

Filling station expenses

Their profit

So the pump price at filling stations will be higher than the refinery price.

Why did Dangote do this?

Because:

1. It buys much of its crude oil in dollars.

2. The government's naira-for-crude arrangement is supplying less crude than before.

3. The naira exchange rate changes frequently.

4. Selling in dollars protects the refinery from losing money due to exchange-rate changes.

What does this mean for ordinary Nigerians?

Fuel prices may become more closely tied to the dollar exchange rate.

If the naira becomes stronger, petrol prices may fall.

If the naira weakens, petrol prices may rise.

Marketers will need access to dollars to buy fuel from Dangote.

In one sentence Musa would understand:

> Dangote is saying: "Since I buy my raw materials in dollars, I will now sell my products in dollars too, so that exchange rate changes do not make me lose money."
This is baseless. There is no manufacturing sector that doesn't import. Do they sell their products in dollar?
Before dangote refinery, Government has been exporting crude for dollar. They are not paid in Naira. They offered dangote a white flag to make it easier for him to access the crude in Naira so that Nigerians can benefit from the refinery but be is now using this nice gesture as a right against the government. That is heartless.
Without government selling to dangote in Naira, dangote will still import crude oil to run his refinery. The import won't be in Naira. It would be in dollar.

What government should do like I have been saying is to impose tariffs on export and subsidize import. That is the only way to create balance in what dangote is doing. Let him prioritize export to get all the dollar he wants while the government gets their own share in tariffs charged in dollar too.
Government will have dollars from export and more dollars from tariffs if foreign countries finds his tariffs reflected products price attractive over other marketers in other countries.
If import is subsidized with the excess crude, Dangote will be the one to call for dialogue.

Government needs dangote. But dangote is showing that he cared about Government.
Dangote is making exports. It is in news. What stops him from buying crude in Dollar with the dollar he is earning from those exports. If he needs more dollar, he would have to buy it like other businesses and importers. Not to blackmail government.

When someone is showing you how greedy they are, you have to go an extra length to clip that wing. No one can be more greedy than the government. Absolutely no one.
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Fixes Petrol Price In New Pricing Template by thesolutions(m): 5:15am On Jul 14
The ripoff continues. Government only hope is to bring down the exchange rate. But how can they when they don't have the dollar.
They think this is a good bargain but they will see it very soon. The volume of dollar marketers will be demanding to purchase these products from dangote will be more than what they are already trying to gain in the deal. If they withhold the dollar, scarcity will be noticed.
Don't keep loose ends with Dangote.

The SCUML Cert is real. I even checked it in EFCC website now. I always avoid ponzi schemes but believed in this one because of their EFCC certificate because I know what the certificate entails and what I takes before getting that certificate from EFCC, so its either EFCC is working with them to scam Nigerians or they do the work that makes us believe the certificate is meant to prevent crime
Was NRC Reading LTD registered as a ponzi company?
Was NRC Reading LTD the same as Nigeria Reading Culture?
It only takes NRC Reading LTD one publication that dissociate it company from activities of Nigeria Reading Culture (NRC) to exonerate itself. It will be seen as document and identity theft by legal system that rely mostly on technicalities to exonerate criminals.

Like it has been said several times, Nigeria is a crime scene.

I bought an IPTV playlist from Segun2222 segunmelvin22@gmail.com, 09044228305 after he assured me it was valid and working. After I made the payment, he sent me login details for an account that had already expired.

I contacted him immediately to explain the issue and requested either a replacement or a refund. Instead of resolving the issue, he blocked me and stopped responding.

I have screenshots of our conversation, proof of payment, and evidence showing the account he sent was already expired.

I'm sharing my experience so others don't become victims. Based on what happened to me, I strongly advise everyone not to send this seller any money.

If you've had a similar experience with this seller, please share it in this thread.
Unless it is specific channel list, you can get free IPTV link on line. Use VLC to stream and you would have your mobile satellite TV in your palm. Sorry for your loss.

But when a Christian speak about who your prophet Muhammad is, it becomes an insult to your whole religion that some go to a length of calling for the head of the christian like you are imagining on the person you saw online.

But Jesus gives his followers peace. Not vice versa. May the peaceful find peace.

What exactly does he expect President Tinubu to do after issuing directives and with the military actively carrying out its responsibilities? Should he personally put on a uniform and head to the battlefield? Even their god and saviour, Donald Trump, is not the one pulling the trigger in combat.

Asymmetric warfare is among the most complex forms of conflict and has challenged militaries across the world. Despite the application of both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies, the same clowns remain the loudest in condemning every effort.
If his directive is not yielding results, he is accepting that the security and economic challenges of the country is beyond him. His next action should be to resign for fresh minds to navigate the challenge. But no. He wants to complete 8 years.
But it should not have gotten to this level of helplessness if the national assembly is up and doing.

Adeboye is an individual and has a right to his opinion which must be respected by everyone, you do not have to attack his person, thats the highest point of intolerance, how many apc supporters to you see insulting or harassing apostle suleiman or any clergy that is considered a hardliner against their party?
Rightly said. So he should tell Nigerians that he supports president tinubu government and policies and not try to exempt him from the security and economic challenges of the Nation. That will be fair enough so if anyone is calling him out, he can defend his statement even to his audience.
Same instructions tinubu gave was what Jonathan gave. Jonathan went to an extent of visiting the affected states. He also used black market to acquire military gadgets when the US government blocked him access to purchase arms legitimately. But president tinubu that has US support and donations has not gotten the Jonathan treatment even though his government is worse off a thousand times.

In essence, he is saying the security challenges and economic challenges is beyond the president to handle so he should call for him to resign and not play with words.

They are afraid of mentioning Dangote. Funny and useless people. They can not even give license to marketers to import at prevailing international market price because they signed a bill into law preventing them from importation as long as dangote has products.

They should be working on amending the bill to ensure dangote and all other refineries that shall be established sells below the prevailing international market price or face sanctions. The refineries should also prioritize local market or face tariffs. Some things are that easy.

Op if you recently purchased your sim card then this might have to do with network providers and recycled sim cards.

The ncc ought to do something about this reoccurring issue. A story was posted here some time ago... (I'm very lazy about searching and attaching links) about some one who was arrested for kidnapping and even receiving ransom from a victim even though it was a recycled sim from his network provider he bought that was linked to the crime.

And Nigeria is a funny place because normally all you really need do is show proof of your recent purchase of the sim kit which should extricate you from whatever allegations.

But the system is so terrible that before you are able to proof your innocence your life may already have been disrupted for some time!
Nigeria is a crime scene. Those force men are always looking for how to milk you dry. My weight loss journey started in May 2025. I went from 130kg to 84kg.
I’m now in plateau, planning to build muscle mass with substitution. Replacing my fats with muscle while maintaining my weight.
Losing such a significant weight comes with loads of discipline and lifestyle changes.
1) Initial phase; Calorie deficit with the help of Mounjaro. I was on the highest dose as at the time I stopped 2 months ago. It helped me to take total control of my diet. I’m a foodie and I’ve been obese all my adult life. My weight exploded immediately I left Nigeria 9yrs ago.
2) Plateau Phase; After losing about 30kg, cutting diet was no longer sufficient to keep me going so I subscribed to the gym . I also cycle to work. If I don’t cycle to work, I park 2 km away from my work and walk to and from work to my car.
3) 3rd phase; The above interventions got me back on track. I dropped additional 20kg. I stopped monjaro.
4) Maintenance phase; pressure from my Wife and parents became overwhelming and I had to put a stop to further wt loss.
I’m now weighing around 84kg +/- 2kg.

Pro; Healthier, smarter, Now travel more than before and I think it has helped my mental health overtime.
Cons: loose skin around my belly, uglier(no be say I be fine man before), people’s perception( even within my own extended family. I had to reassure them that baba still de😊).
Finally cost; it cost me some money. Mounjaro cost me around £300 monthly and my special diet also cost few extra quids than regular diets.
Me that is a bit lanky is 85kg. I have to check that scale.
