Is Nigerian Juju real?
As a religion it is real. Like all religions it plays on the superstitious of which Africans are. Be it talking in tongues and healing for Christians. To Moslem mallam who makes amulets.

In the case of the African traditional religions, it is an art form.

It works only on people that believe. How? I will make an example.

In the 90s a senior chief and a distant relation had a problem with the former Oba of Benin. One night the head priest from the Oba palace started doing juju in front of the chief’s palace in plain view of everyone. Next day the Chief was dead. Juju right? Actually no. He was also our family friend and patient. He was diabetic and hypertensive. Did not comply with treatment and preferred herbs. He died of a stroke. Sure the priest killed him. However not with juju, but scared him to death.

When my father died, I was abroad. My aunties were already sharing his lands. I returned and was told by two different elderly people that my aunties were doing juju so that I will forget home. Don't believe, did not work. Took all my dad's properties back and disowned them.

All stories you hear are always the same. “I know someone who saw” which later change to “I saw” Had a friend who was told about a man who touched someone with a ring from ijebu and the other man could not get off the floor. Years later he narrated the story again. This time he saw it happen.

Can juju kill. Oh yes. But not with gods and spirits.

A common image of the event is the witch doctor blowing powder in the victem’s face.

The powder had long been analysed. It comes from the Calabar Bean. Which is rich in ricin. One of the deadliest poisons.

This example of using nature and giving credit to the supernatural is the basis of all similar religions. Not only in Nigeria. Read up on how to make zombies using the puffer fish toxins as practiced in Haiti.

Edit: People are going like, well I believe in science but there are things I have seen in the village..

Like stopping bullets. Here the masked magician shows how it is done without juju helping him.

Extract from Quora

Their reality is because they have long wielded powers of life and death over people. The easiest way to understand the occult in the Nigerian context is as an instrument of social control. Don’t do A or else.

It’s also pretty much an open conspiracy that secret cults dominate Nigeria. But their secrecy can only hold within an atmosphere characterised by fear of exposure and physical consequences. That makes them prone to unexpected violence in a manner individuals find disconcerting and frightening. In turn, they justify their fear by giving it a spiritual dimension.

Blood money is also easily traceable to the slave trade. Human beings used to be worth money. But ‘sacrificing them’ was a metaphor. They usually went through the god’s gullet to emerge on a canoe headed for a slave ship docked offshore. Of course, that reality does not help the thousands slaughtered because chancers believed they could strike it rich. They’d be better off trafficking them to Italy or using them as Asian drug mules. Times have moved on, but the myth endures.

The occult is also the popular antagonist of protestants. Although, they contribute to the myth’s persistence by painting it in spiritual terms.

Occultic agents are physical beings who wield the shadows and terror to their advantage. That terror persists because they are willing to kill to keep it that way. And in a poor country, one can blame any series of misfortunes on them.

Always remember that they quailed before the Maxim despite their vaunted powers. Certain robbers can fly, disappear and are bullet-proof right up until they annoy NPF enough for them to hunt them down. Then the narrative shifts to Baal vacaying with Asherah on that particular day. Or maybe that one smart NPF constable dipped his bullet in a virgin’s vomit. And that happened to be the one thing the fetish was not primed to resist.

Anyways, I give protestants two generations and all that nonsense will fade away. Sure, they’ll replace it with Daddy Go-ism, but at least, Daddy GOs aren’t casual murderers like the cults are.

Slaves and the unclean, osus ,erus in the pre-colonial Nigeria were usually sacrificed , taken to the 'evil forest " and on return the riches emmased is only just but mystical as these slaves were traded and sold to slave merchants , in exchange for wealth capable of changing whole communities, this today has been inbred with culture sadly believing sacrificing a selected few would bring weath emmasse . Because of the Nigerian Athmosphere of spiritual fear , we don't question and the Religous Heads including babalawos take advantage of this to maximum possible capability , its human it's nature and natural for the strong to feed off the weak .

Gallimimus

Type of dinosaur: Theropod
Size: 20 ft. / 6m
Period: Late Cretaceous
Gallimimus belongs to this list of famous dinosaurs due to its appearance in the film Jurassic Park. In the film, paleontologist Alan Grant (played by Sam Neill) and the grandchildren of park owner John Hammond are surrounded by a Gallimimus herd. Grant and the children take shelter behind a fallen tree as the herd is attacked by a T. rex.

Gallimimus, whose name means “chicken mimic”, was a fast-moving, herd animal with a large, toothless beak. Unlike the dinosaur in Jurassic Park, Gallimimus is thought to have had feathers. The structure of its beak suggest that the dinosaur was a herbivore that ate tough vegetation.

Troodon

Type of dinosaur: Theropod
Size: 6.5 ft. / 2 m
Period: Late Cretaceous
Troodon means “wounding tooth”, a name that comes from the dinosaur’s serrated teeth. The teeth were the first Troodon specimens to be found.

Most paleontologists believe that Troodon was a predator, with large eyes and one of the biggest brains in relation to body size of any dinosaur.

An opposing view is that Troodon’s serrated teeth were used to slice through leaves rather than meat, and that the dinosaur was an omnivore.

EducationFamous Known Dinosaurs by TheSourcerer(op): 2:06pm On Mar 20, 2023
Good Morning Nlanders, and hope you have a wonderful day I really do smiley

Examples of famous dinosaurs include sauropods such as Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus; Ornithischians such as triceratops, stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus; and theropods such as Giganotosaurus, Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus. These popular dinosaurs have appeared in numerous films, books, and TV shows

Number one

Type of dinosaur: Theropod

Size: 26-36 ft. / 8 – 11 m

Period: Late Cretaceous
Therizinosaurus was a towering therapod famous for its long arms and huge claws. Each hand had three claws, the longest of which grew to more than 20” / 50 cm in length. The name Therizinosaurus, which means “scythe lizard”, refers to the dinosaur’s large claws.

Although Therizinosaurus’ claws are impressive, they may not have been used solely as weapons. This large dinosaur may have moved around like a gorilla, occasionally standing on its hind legs and using its claws to pull down vegetation to eat.

Therizinosaurus achieved fame as the subject of the Walking with Dinosaurs series special episode, “The Giant Claw”

Wilgrea7:
Jaephoenix, at your request, I'll be sharing my views on homosexuality. Anyone else who sees this and would like to contribute or critique it is more than welcome to do so. My goal here is to learn.

Before I continue, I also want to clarify that I do not know nearly enough about the topic to give any sort of informed opinion, so please take whatever I say with a grain of salt. A tablespoon if you will.

Now, in regards to homosexuality, I do not subscribe to the idea that these people were "born this way". I don't believe anyone is born gay. But I don't believe anyone is born "straight" either. Before you crucify me, hear me out.

Children are not hard-wired to like a specific gender. At the basic level, children know nothing. As they grow, they begin to learn about the world, and what things are. A newborn child has no idea what gender is. As it develops, it begins to make emotional connections to the people around it. It begins to like certain things, I'd say in a general way.

As we get older, certain hormones start to kick in and our emotions get a bit more... I'd say complicated. We tend to tag a wide range of feelings as "love". Depending on the kind of experiences we have, and how our brain interprets them, we may start to develop a special attraction, or in some cases apathy towards certain people of either gender. Also don't forget our hormones are more or less raging at this point.

Plus, the society we live in also plays a huge role. Modern society is more hetero-centric, from our movies to books to stories and so on. And most people grow up view these as the normal. I feel like in an imaginary society where things were different, the demographics of people's orientations would be very different too.

I feel like these are the things that eventually play the role in determining someone's preferences as they develop. Not that people are necessarily born that way.

However, regardless of which side of the pitch people stand, I don't think anyone should be discriminated against.

That being said, I do have issues with the way certain groups try to push their ideology on people, especially children, who shouldn't be bothered with such things at their relatively young ages.

Once again, this is my current, limited view on the subject. I do not claim to possess any objective knowledge on the matter, so please take this with a grain of salt.
Impressive input Thank you. I figured it's a great theory since animals would fucck their sisters mothers even other males to cure their horniness, so yes if men are put in a controlled environment men and women they will both have sex with each other , Man or woman no difference , sou your grain of salt is really more of a mountain smiley
