Odidigboigbo: SW hated Akintola because of that so called push to join AG with NCNC and NPC at the national level as opposed to Awo. This singular decision of SLA was the cause of the disagreement between both of them which led to the first political crisis in SW and S. L Akintola decamping from AG, the main Yoruba party. Till today majority of Yorubas, sees S.L Akintola as a betrayal because of his decision to join national politics as opposed to Awo regional view. In summary, Yorubas has never played national politics before the advent of APC, they hate OBJ because of his nationalistic view. What baffles me most is how these indomie generation that doesn't know anything in Nigeria politics will be accusing SE of playing regional politics.
Don't be hypocritical, every region plays regional politics. And SLA isn't hated in the south west, he was only unpopular in the region because of his elitist views.
BigSarah: Zik was simply doing the British bidding isn't that right? So How Does that benefit his tribesmen He was out to save himself isn't that right?
Nope Ironsi had no idea, he didn't even do anything for his tribesmen...
Do you have any material on the 6 months reign of Ironsi? I need some
He was doing the bidding of the british because they had him in a cvckhold and which ever leader allied with the colonizers had their tribes men to benefit alot from such relationship.... there's a reason igbos populated the civil service pre-independence and even during ironsi's time. Also Ironsi and Zik where close friends and ironsi's actions after the first coup said it all. I won't suggest or recommend any material, research yourself and make your deductions but it seems you've already done that.
Marginalization for the Igbo man is a twisted idea that other tribes must allow themselves to be dominated by them. The arrogance makes up for a lack of real history and authenticity that you find in other tribes.
BigSarah: I'm not disputing Zik was a nationalist but the false notion that Zik forced Awo and balewa to stick to Nigeria..
He brought up an opinion and the North saw reason with him, likewise the west eventually..
Just Sad Zik aided the north from a suicidal secession with words, but the same North payed that back with bullets and bombs.
Zik was no nationalist. He only pushed for one Nigeria because he had the rettarded idea that he could manipulate the north and have his tribesmen dominate all spheres of Nigeria, same idea ironsi had when he banned regionalism. We all know how that ended.
BigSarah: Lmao... Awo is the nephew of lord lugard, even balewa is the estranged cousin of lord lugards wife.. See all nonsense, anyone can say nonsense.. I do agree Zik, Ironsi, Nzeogwu aren't celebrated by any Igbo clan because they're faulty.. But The purpose of this thread is false pending proof.. I'm here to learn not argue pointlessly
That's a video of Harold Smith(a former british colonial officer) he over saw elections in pre-colonial nigeria and shared his thoughts on Awo, Enahoro and your beloveth Azikiwe, If you have data watch it and educate yourself.
Below is Obed-Edom Azikiwe father of Nnamdi Azikiwe seated at the left side of lugard. He was nigeria's very first Uncle Tom and loyal slave assistant to lugard. The issue with must of you Igbos apart from high levels of group narcissism is the fact that you find it difficult to take responsibility for your actions and hold your leaders accountable..... there's always an outside force you'd find to blame.
BigSarah: If I ask you to provide me proof your stance now can you? I'm willing to learn
Still no record of any revolt regards that decision. Lmao, I've done as much research needed to have an opinion.. If zik and the British were such pals, they should have made him prime minister..
Zik's father was a close friend of lord lugard. Stop embarrassing yourself. Plus zik was a corrupt man who took up loads of personal debts that made the british blackmail him. 95% of the problems igbos are facing is largely the fault of their leaders.
stinechykee: You twisted tongue and dimented people from South West want to change mouth now ehhh.So it is no more that Igbos should not carry their UGM to Yoruba land now is they're not killing their kin like Igbos does ehh?? Now am beginning to understand why every tribes doesn't trust you people even your brother FFK that called you people Unreliable and Sheddy people
naijapips02: If you'd think for a minute, he's not referring to just IGR. Do you know how much is exchanged in main Market Onitsha everyday? Do you know how much transport companies in Onitsha make everyday? Think like say you go school na.
Idiot, he said anambra state in terms of the state government... nobody gives a shit about your local markets.
Tomek09: Lagos is a no man's land. Igbos have 48.5% of total population of the State i.e about 9 million of 20M. Underestimate Igbos in Lagos at ur own peril.
Yes, it's why we kept your brother in charge of the gutters.
Talking thrash while imo governor is covertly implementing RUGA....eboes shouldn't be using mouth to talk down other people's governors.... yours are ballless cowards
od501: I never said the Beninese don't have Yoruba blood cos they do. I only said that Lagos was originally owned by old Benin Kingdom, hence, the name, Eko.
I'm still waiting for your own version.
The part that you're referring to Eko is isale-eko and smaller than a local govt area.... what happened was the current oba of lagos was given then that part of Lagos by oba of Benin who purchased it from a pepper farmer from ile-ife who inhabited the area before the "oba" came along..... history is ok for those who have nothing to look forward to, to jerk off to pass glory and leech off the success of others..... Lagos remains the sole property of the yorubas whatever any idiot thinks.
SLAP44: Mailafia told us that the insecurity happening in most parts of the south is a planned attempt by the Fulani tribe to subdue all of you by method of brute force. They are using divide and rule tactics and killing innocent people in the east, kidnapping and raping innocent women and ladies in the west, killing off innocent people in Benue, Southern Kaduna and Plateau. The number of people they have killed and maimed in the Niger Delta are uncountable. They are using killers protected for their men in uniform and attacking every state to dominate every state. - From Obadiah Mailafia. Former CBN Deputy Governor
Nobody really cares about this shit if you're not putting action to it.
od501: I will if i have the chance. But what will you tell your students if you are given a chance to discuss the history of Lagos?
Whatever revisionist history you tell yourself is your business. Your oba of Benin who is a Yoruba man understands where his boundary stops. Run along.
od501: The Yorubas never owned Lagos sir. The present day Lagos was originally own by old Benin kingdom hence the name 'Eko,' meaning port area, river Bank (something like that).
Go and tell this crap to the oba in ikorodu or the ones in epe or island. Benin slave feeling funky.
