Truckpusher: Absolutely you lack the basic ingredients to comprehend properly before quoting and rushing into conclusion reasoning from your butt.

In a layman's language :
1) People tend to drop some cultures because they are educated
2) Rich people do not believe in some culture because the society they must have encountered somehow would have made them to become acculturated
3)Most of these cultures that are very backward like your osu system are usually upheld in the villages where you have a larger population of a people belonging to one tribe, region and religion or way of life

And yes, the more successful and enlightened you become you'll generally drop some unhealthy cultures that constantly clash with your environment .For example if i'm an Osu wanting to marry a free born that has an educated father and mother living in a far away land will the issue of being an osu come into play?
The Osu thing has been abolished in igboland for a very long time, so stop peddling this ur unfounded rumour undecided

lorretta u: It is a general belief that igbo women don't mess around while married
That's the cause of the high bride price and the reason why igbo men don't like to marry out.on the bride price day,the kinsmen will always call the bride aside and tell her "stick to you husband no matter what"
I know guys like that that's why they keep coming for more

Even other tribes come to igbo to marry
The most proposals I ever got were from non-igbo guys. Which led me to believe that non-igbos love igbo women

Of course there are exceptions to the rule.and times are changing. Igbo people especially our women are marrying into other tribes without bias nowadays.
That's why they are been mistreated& nobody comes to they rescue kiss

Kassidy90: No go there at all, if a woman want to b faithful it doesn't have anything to do with her tribe...
It has, igbo culture detest unfaithfulness, why some culture don't, eg Yoruba

sniperliz: I disagree with op, I have lived in virtually all states in south south, and our men tend to marry the indigenes of the various state in which they reside..... 60% of Igbo men marry outside....

Capableben: One hardly sees an ibo man succumb to marrying a lady from a contrasting origin.
The few that end up marrying ladies from other tribes are always scolded at or not given much support.. Why is this sohuh Is it culturally inclined? maybe other ladies are not as good as good as igbo ladieshuh

Give me answers!
Op There is adage in igboland that said,

"He that went to bush to fetch ant infested fagot shouldn't complain when lizard pay him visit". Any igbo that marries from other tribe should be prepared for load of wahala.

Some tribes are just manageable for friendship, not marriage.

Hehehe, see advice, thanks old man for ur insight, but last thing we needed in 2015 is the presidency.
Our focus is the National conference which will determine whether this lugard experiment will remain beyond 2015.
If it remains, then he can throw his weight behind Igbo presidency come 2019.

One thing that gladens my heart is, while the imgbati tribe in their delusions whine& complain over they fictitious dearth of presidential materials in Igboland, this old man identify that we have them in abundance.

Politics › Re: 2015 And The Fight For Corruption When Buhari Wins. by thewarrior72:
grin To start with, we all know that, house divided against it self cannot stand.

The marriage of strange bedfellows, popularly called APC, is the conglomeration of the world most corrupt& dreaded politicians that ever walk the surface of this earth.

The leader of this conglomerate happened to be buhari, a coupist, & a man who once was a PTDF chairman & embezzled trillions commited into his hand & till today he has not accounted for the money. Next in rank to him is the Toronto certificate holder/forger Tinubu aka Jagagban, who for 8years as lagos state governor couldn't point to one single thing he used the resources to achieve, rather under 8years he become second wealthiest Yoruba& bought over lagos overnight.

In this conglomerate, men& women of dubious& questionable characters are not lacking. Contrariwise, is devoid of men & women of integrity& moral standing.

What is beckoning for answer is, who& who is going to fight the corruption in this conglomerate. Since it is rotten from head to toe.

Is it the likes of,
Buhari,
Tinubu,
Fashola,
Rochas
Ngige
Amaechi
Malam Elrufi
Aragbe-shola
Ikuforiji,
Fanni Kayode etc who is enmeshed in deep corruption, will fight corruption., What an irony.

Anyway, op whoever want to start the corruption fight, have to start with GMB

musiwa112: that is interesting. the truth is, .. niger delta is not possible, even delta state, the governor or government have to move the land to the east or anywhere. It will remain with Western nigeria. Anyone who does not like that , they can move to the east , is this how it is done.. Even if the governor of delta state for example does not like it, let say for an example.. He will have to relocate to the east. this is how it works.

kwara and kogi remain with western nigeria too, all the media manipulation use for many year.. does not affect the truth. the issue is western nigeria is a country. eastern nigeria can determine their faith.

after they break it, you now have the chance to decide who you want a union with. Does not means that anyone has to move.. Eastern Nigeria may decide they want a relationship with others. or we the western may decide us too.
