Jobs/Vacancies / Social Welfare: Why N-power Is Better Than It's Predecessor by thewesternking: 12:49pm On Aug 31, 2018
N-Power is the federal government program under the social investment program for job creation and Youth empowerment initiative launched in 2016 and still running till date.

N-Power is a platform for diversifying the economy. N-Power prepares young Nigerians for a knowledge economy where, equipped with world-class skills and certification, they become innovators and movers in the domestic and global markets.

Sure-P, now defunct was established in 2012 and ran till 2015 when it was shut down due to the many irregularities and scams. Sure-P was marred with irregularities mainly because the stipend wasn't being paid directly to beneficiaries and as such left room for misappropriation, N-Power doesn't leave room for such as beneficiaries have to provide their bank details upon enrollment.

In the three years for which sure-p was active, only 41, 000 youths benefited from the program. Sure-P trained and mentored for One year on a monthly Federal government Stipend of 18,000. N-power has been active for 2 years and has empowered over 400,000 both unemployed graduates and non-graduates.

N-power empowers youths with the necessary industrial skills on a monthly federal government stipend of 30,000 and are given tablets that contains information necessary for their specific engagement and continuous training and development during the programme.

Sure-P was intended to provide fresh graduates with short term employment to help sharpen their skill and gain working experience. N power is designed to help young Nigerians acquire and develop long life skills and become solution providers in their community and become key players in both domestic and global market.

Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Challenges Buhari: Name 3 Projects You Initiated, Started, Completed by thewesternking: 4:10pm On Aug 24, 2018

Any one asking this question is not reasonable enough.
Nigerians need a COMPLETED project, irrespective of who started it.
We have millions of abandoned or uncompleted people oriented projects in this country, completing and comissioning it for people to use is what matters for instance, During OBJ's admin in 70's, he laid a standard rail line from Ajaokuta to Delta state for the purpose of shipping products from Ajaokuta steel mill, for export, that rail line was not used for a day, this govt came and renovate it and will soon put it to use for conveying PASSENGERS, pending when Ajaokuta will start work, is it a wrong thing?

Thank you my brother.
Politicians are using us to play ball.
Should a new administration start a new project when already existing ones have not been completed?
Wasting time and our valuable resources.

TGM2015:

Sowore just like Ribadu has lost the once known glory. He has jettison the main reason I love him (investigative journalism) on the platter of going into politics. Premium Times has taken over the space. I cannot trust him to sustain the course of Nigeria against his self interest.

Do you know that the fall of Jonathan started because of his self interest to return for second term? He allowed Boko Haram to flourish because it will favour his reelection, allow corruption to strife because of the same reason, forced Sanusi out of office because of same reason (cashless policy), plunge this country into financial difficulties (recession) because of his reelection bid, compromised our national security because of same reason, we lost hundreds of thousand souls, indirectly, just because of the same reason...

I remember vividly my statement on the last election, I said if Jonathan wins... It shows that God is not a justice God and care less about the lost of innocent souls occasioned by Jonathan deliberate inactions.

Definitely, Sowore is out of equation because he has abandoned the good work I personally know him for, for politics.
Sowore is just in it for cool cash.
He will probably be a bigger thief than PDP.

I hope that now that the presidency has finally agreed to "state policing"
States will actually be able to pay these extra recurrent expenditure that will be added to their budget.
States like Lagos will be able to cope as they've had a similar structure before now.

How can they sit and approve all that money when d president has refused to assent to the law that justifies the expenditure proposed on the INEC budget?

So you'd rather not have elections come 2019?
Politics / Re: Election Re-ordering: PMB Declines Assent To Electoral Act Amendment Bill Again by thewesternking: 10:43am On Aug 14, 2018
freeze001:

And I've just told you that after the President rejected the reordering provisions, the bill was revised removing that aspect and sent back for his assent. So why d second refusal?

Meanwhile the NASS has power to reorder elections, the court has ruled on that.

My guess on the reason for refusal is as good as yours.
I however know that if the National assembly was indeed serious about the bill, they would have passed it earlier and sent it to the president for consent. Allowing whoever had any grievances to contest the bill before the elections.

The reordering aspect was removed and sent back for his assent. Again he refused for no clear reason.

Why do they want to re-order it so close to the election?
knowing fully well it can't be challenged in the short time?
I suspect foul play.
