Health / Re: No N160,000 Demand From Nigerians In UK For COVID-19 Test - FG by thiagoteres(m): 2:02pm On Apr 14, 2020
This is pure damage control!
How many citizens of other first world country evacuated from Nigeria privately arranged their COVID test?
What's the essence of the test if they are still going to be quarantined on arrival?

Why not conduct the test on leaving government imposed quarantine centres?
Press statement didn't even address the allegations.
Some people sha want to hammer with this crisis.

Boris Johnson has been discharged from hospital but won't immediately return to work as he continues to recover from coronavirus, Downing Street has said.

The prime minister will recuperate at Chequers, his official country retreat in Buckinghamshire, after spending almost a week at St Thomas' Hospital in central London.

A Number 10 spokesman said: "The prime minister has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at Chequers.

"He wishes to thank everybody at St Thomas' for the brilliant care he has received.

"All of his thoughts are with those affected by this illness."

Ok. But will your colleague be paid full salary.

Their jobs has only been modified to avoid physical contact with people .So they do administrative work from home.
I expect them to be paid in full since it's a government directive. I can't be absolutely certain till April pay day since it's a recent change.

Hello house trust u guys are keeping safe? Please I need y advice I am confused. I and my wife remarried this year in Nigeria, she left to UK and promised applying for me when she gets bk, just for her to call me and said that the hospital she works is not allowing agency, that government said that agency is cheating on govt and not paying their taxes. So I asked her what she wants to do, she said she wants to start full permanent job by March and I have to wait for six-months for her to fill my papers. I said ok. Just for me to ask her yesterday, she told me that she is not working, staying at home bc of the covid. I was confused. She said some of her colleagues are affected with the virus, so I don't know if she is scared to go to work or because of her sugar problem. I am confused. How can she bring me to UK if she is not working. Kindly advise me. Thank you.
In addition to what soknown said , it appears ur wife has a medical condition that makes her high risk in this covid era.
I have colleagues that been asked to shield at home for next three month so they don't catch anything.
Relax ur mind , be supportive and pray this drama ends soon.

Isn't this advice contrary to the NCDC'S guidance?
It's still early days in Nigeria and available resources should be use judiciously.
Contact tracing, isolation and testing of probable cases should be the watchword .

Hi guys,I have a somewhat bizzare story but I promise this is true and not in anyway is this person trying to beat d system. so my cousin who got a 6 month visa to the Uk for his plab2 exam, hailed a cab from Manchester bus station to his hotel, when he got out to pick his box from d trunk.the driver zoomed off with his school credentials, international passport etc(he still doesn’t know if it was intentional).he has done his exam yesterday but needs a valid passport and visa to verify is it possible for a new passport and visa to be issued to him while in the Uk? Please before anyone suggests he has overstayed or anything I’m attaching a photo of his visa it’s still very valid he is just in an unlucky situation,he didn’t use uber or any ride hailing app so no way to trace via that.he has reported to the police already they gave him a crime ref number but they advised he get the passport and visa back. So I’m asking if anyone knows the possibility of one being reissued a stolen passport and it’s visa while in d Uk still.thanks

I think he also needs to inform home office and Nigerian embassy.
Renewal can be done in a day but not certain of it's same procedure for replacement of lost passport.

Health / Re: Share Your Experience(s) With Nigerian Doctors by thiagoteres(m): 11:37am On Nov 27, 2019
abmart80:
Generally Nigeria Health Sector is a mess. My 16 years old daughter was sick last year, she was referred to Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta from our Private Hospital. On getting there, my wife told me they dont have anything, if you need drug the doctors will be the one to direct you to where to get the drugs, you dont bring the drugs they wont attend to you. After spending some months there she get better and go back home for monthly appointment at the hospital. Later they told my wife that she will need one surgery to undertake for her final treatment. Then when I was around I took her for that appointment one day, I met with the doctors and ask some questions regards the surgery, the doctor direct me to one hospital and told me they just did it for some kid some weeks back, one is 10 years and one is 12 years. I went to the hospital, they told me it will cost me 3.2m.

The when I get back home I went online to research about the surgery and I find out that the surgery can not be done for age lesser than 18 years, then I was confused, because of this I make an appointment for her in the country where I was residing did 3 months visiting visa for her to come and do the surgery. On getting to the country I took her to the hospital for her appointment and they did series of test and xray, then give us another appointment. Then finally on the day of appointment they lecture both of us that the surgery can not be done until she is 18 years, because it will affect her in the future if they did it now. They retained her appointment and told me she should come back after two years for the surgery.

And Nigeria doctors already done same surgery for 10 years and 12 years old kid without telling them what it may cause them and their parents in the future.

May God save us all.
I deeply empathize with your family. It's really difficult managing conditions in children especially those that present with recurrent pain.
There are always exemptions to treatment guidelines and individual needs is a major determinant.
It's safe to assume your daughter had infection in her hip or sickle cell .These are likely reason for joint damage in black children that would require surgery.
Replacement is usually delayed till later in life since bone is still growing and also because of high likelihood of needing a revision surgery due to the life span of the metal implants. That doesn't mean it can't be done earlier.
It's about making a choice between performing replacement earlier to improve quality of life or watching a child in pain and not able to carry out usual daily activities if conservative means fail.
I am not certain the procedure would cost that much in a government facility with the capacity to do it.
Cheers.

And you had time to read it. Was it worth it? Get out.

That doctor wasnt at fault and Im happy to correct anybody on that. The way they tried to mess her up wasnt fair at all

Like I said, just get out if you dont know what to say. When they accuse of you something lets hope people find your story "worth it" smh
U obviously have a comprehension problem.
I only gave u a simple advice.
It's common knowledge she was unduly vilified and justice has been long served.
If someone with access to internet deliberately choose to twist facts, allow him wallow in his folly.
The thread was suppose to celebrate judging from the op but it has turned to yet another doctor bashing thread.

They were just using that woman as a scapegoat.

Her supervisor didnt show up and left her to look after like 50 patients alone. Then they allowed him to fly back to Ireland

The staff swapped the boy to another bed without informing her. The bed they moved him to had an order saying not to resuscitate if the patient fell unconscious and thats how he died

The people who wanted to sack her are a bunch of racists.

U really have time explaining o.
Not worth it .

@justwise please i need your view on this
"Total amount of money that you get in a year" is for your "other regular income " which should be 960k +50k. The savings should be what you have currently not what you expect to get.then get relevant documents eg bank statements, pay slips etc to back it up.
Let see what justwise has to say
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by thiagoteres(m): 8:35am On Feb 08, 2019
Total amount being asked here is from the other regular income.
Also, I think ur net salary should be what u fill not the gross unless ur income tax is not deducted from source.
Always remember u would submit a bank statement,so enter what u can prove.

deybholar:
Turkish airlines provides hotel accommodation for long layover (from 10hrs ) but you would need to have a Turkish visa which you can get at Istanbul airport for $50. If you are not interested in paying that much, they have a resting room within the airport for transit passengers. There is no bathroom as the resting room is like a hostel but you can sleep comfortably. They also provide a meal ticket for you. There's also a hotel right inside the airport (TAAV AIRPORT HOTEL) but be prepared to spend at least £300 as they charge hourly.

Detailed advice.
