FamilyFUN LOVERS: Bar Beach With Sinking Nature Not Safe – Management by thinka2(op): 5:50am On Sep 21, 2013
It a weekend and i know some fun lovers will be heading to the beach but its good to have this information

The Chairman, Tourism Committee of the Lagos Bar Beach, Mr Effiong Ekanem, on Friday said that the sand area of the beach was still under restriction to fun seekers, due to its
sinking nature.

Ekanem while addressing journalists in Lagos that the management of the beach, in collaboration with Eti-Osa Local Government, gave the restriction order to ensure the safety of the fun seekers.

“The beach is still a construction site due to the ongoing construction of the Eko Atlantic City. Therefore, the sand area at the beach is not safe for fun seekers.

“Fun seekers are only allowed to stay at the pavement area, while enjoying the sea breeze and the serene environment around the beach,’’ he said.

He said that security personnel and lifeguards were on ground, to ensure safety at the beach.

Ekanem, however, added that the management was currently taking necessary steps that would eventually lead to the resumption of normal activities at the beach.

“I believe that at the end of the construction of the Eko Atlantic City, normal activities will resume at the beach,’’ he stressed.

PoliticsBREAKING NEWS: Blackberry To Lay-off 40% Staff workers Worldwide by thinka2(op):
This is just in. Blackberry Announces 4,500 lay-offs or about 40 % of its staff world-wide rekindling fears of the company's demise and sending its shares into a tailspin as shares fell 23.3% to $8.34 Canadian, hitting their lowest point so far this year, while the company's Nasdaq-listed shares fell 23% to $8.10

It will also report operating loss of over $1Billion Dollars mainly because of poor sales of the new BB Q10 and Z10 as well too much competition for other major smartphone firms

This is coming after BBM software is now available on Samsung Glaxy Smartphones

Want to buy a BlackBerry? Even the struggling smartphone maker considers selling itself

The company, which has struggled to claw back market share from the likes of Apple's iPhone and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd's Galaxy phones, said it expects to report a net operating loss of about $950 million to $995 million for the quarter ended Aug. 31, due to write-downs and other factors.

The results will put more pressure on BlackBerry to find a buyer. The company said last month it is weighing its options, including an outright sale, in the face of persistently lackluster sales of its new smartphones, which run on the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

"The company has sailed off a cliff. What do you expect when you announce you're up for sale?" said BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis. "Who wants to commit to a platform that could possibly be shut down?"

BlackBerry said it expects to report revenue for the second quarter of about $1.6 billion, of which roughly 50 percent is expected to be revenue from its services unit. Analysts, on average, had forecast a loss of 15 cents a share on revenue of $3.06 billion, according to

"The revenue and device shipment numbers are pretty surprising given how weak it is," said UBS analyst Amitabh Passi. "I think many of us were expecting a pretty difficult quarter, but this is much worse than we anticipated."

BlackBerry has already undergone a major round of job cuts over the last 12 months. It employed 12,700 people as of March, and once had close to 20,000 employees. The company said it plans to refocus its efforts on the enterprise and high-end consumer markets, offering end-to-end solutions, including hardware, software and services.

It's pathetic when you see law enforcement officers especially in Africa meting out cruel and wicked treatment to "common" civilians. The video shows women being mercilessly beaten as one of the degraded women is even handicapped, but that didn't stop the police from beating her mercilessly with woods, canes, police sticks, kicks, blows, slap and even
feeding them with fresh pepper.

It is alleged that this how Angolan police maltreat and brutally torture women. It's alleged that this is how the police torture

Kindly don't watch the video if you are one who get so repelled with such things

TravelREVEALED: 10 Secrets Flight Attendants Will Never Tell BUT You Must Know by thinka2(op): 12:46pm On Sep 19, 2013
Nigerians are some of the highest frequent travelers in the world and so its important to know some secrets that Flight attendants would never divulge if you are not in the know

1. They’ll intentionally delay flights
If a flight is delayed, the crew often gets paid overtime. But this only kicks in after a certain amount of delay, so sometimes the crew (after the doors have closed and they are in fact on the clock) will delay take off intentionally.

2. Nice clothes can get you to first class
You actually can be upgraded for free to business or first class once the cabin doors have
been closed. But here’s a secret: the crew isn’t going to put a slob in stained sweatpants up there, so dressing nice could be your ticket to first class service at economy prices.

3. They throw out the extra wine
The plane isn’t allowed to have opened, unfinished bottles of wine when they land, so they pour out all extra wine. If you mention you know this, it could be hard for your attendant to deny you a couple extra free glasses.

4. They’re the law
They may look unassuming in their pencil skirts and cardigans, but it’s against the law to disobey crew members’ commands. Simply refusing to put your seat up when it’s time could mean a meeting with police when the plane lands.

5. They delay dinner on purpose
If you’re asleep, your flight attendant is supposed to leave you alone and that means less work. For this reason, the crew will often delay dinner as long as possible on night flights, so that half the plane is asleep and they don’t have to serve that half.

6. You can have first class’s leftovers
After everyone in first class has been served their meal, a flight attendant could technically give you one of those sought-after leftover meals. It’s worth asking.

7. They’re not on the clock until the doors are closed
If the crew doesn’t seem to care about you until the doors are closed, that’s because they’re not being paid to. They don’t make a dollar until those doors are shut which is also why they rush you to put your bags away and sit down

8. You only think you know turbulence
Flight attendants laugh when they hear passengers swap stories of “the worst turbulence ever” and “dangerously bumpy flights.” Out of the over 2 million people who fly yearly, there have only been three fatalities due to turbulence in over 30 years, and two of those individuals were not wearing their seatbelts.

9. Joining the mile high club is not illegal
That’s right! If you can get away with it, you didn’t do anything wrong. That being said, flight attendants almost always know when this is happening, and will ask you to exit the lavatory.

10. They’re sneaking you decaf coffee
Why would they give you regular if that just means you’ll be awake for hours, wanting snacks, wanting drinks, and asking pointless questions?

RomanceMARITAL ROMANCE: Awkward Moments Married Couples Face by thinka2(op):
For those who think marriage is all about those beautiful romantic moments, you need a reality check! Married life is a kaleidoscope of moments, some romantic and some embarrassing and awkward, the good, the bad and ugly moments of trials and marital challenges. But it is these ‘Oops!’ moments that add the much needed spice to a marriage as years down the line, these moments will make you burst into laughter. After all, the kind of bond you build with your spouse largely depends on moments that are less than perfect.

If you are already married, you will relate to this list. In case you are not, there are some moments that you might want to avert! So, take a look:

1. Kids march in during make-out session
So you are not only married, but also have kids. That does not mean that romance is dead. However, a kid marching in while you are making out passionately is a definite awkward
moment. So, make sure you have complete privacy before indulging in some steamy action!

2. A walk in the toilet
The relationship that a husband and wife share is definitely quite intimate. But, your spouse walking in the toilet, while you are using it, could be an awkward moment for both of you. This is one visual aid that you would definitely not want in your memory banks. Keep doors locked well and save yourself from the embarrassment.

3. Awkward kiss
The awkward kiss tops the list, and is experienced by almost everyone who is married. The awkward moment when you are about to kiss your partner, she/he suddenly moves and you plant the kiss on the nose instead. There are so many variations to the moment; each of you might have experienced some version of it sometime or other.

4. The in-law talk
Imagine, you walk right into the house foul-mouthing your in-laws to your spouse, thinking she/he is the only one in there. But, you are unpleasantly surprised, or rather shocked to see your in-law emerging from nowhere into the hall. Bingo! I guess, ‘speechless’ can be the only reaction in such a scenario.

5. Loud fart
Oops! Another very common awkward moment is when you fart really loud. It just gets more embarrassing when you are in a more intimate position with your spouse, especially in the beginning stages of your marriage. However, as you continue living with your spouse, in happiness or despair or those farting moments, such moments don’t seem awkward anymore

6. Called the wrong name
Calling out your spouse by an ex’s name is not only one of the most awkward moments, but also a major goof up that you can make. The scenario can be even worse, if you do it while making out. In fact, such a moment is downright catastrophic!

HealthREVEALED: Shocking Symptoms That Could Mean You Are HIV Positive by thinka2(op): 7:11pm On Sep 16, 2013
To view on Mobile, click
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLz2L-U7BrA

Even before going for HIV Test, symptoms usually manifest if one has caught the virus as within a month or two of HIV entering the body, 40% to 90% of people experience flu- like symptoms known as acute retroviral syndrome (ARS).

But sometimes HIV symptoms don’t appear for years, sometimes even a decade, after infection.

Here are some signs that you may be HIV-positive.

Fever

One of the first signs of ARS can be a mild fever, up to about 102 degrees F. The fever, if it occurs at all, is often accompanied by other usually mild symptoms, such as fatigue, swollen lymph glands, and a sore throat.

“At this point the virus is moving into the blood stream and starting to replicate in large
numbers,” says Carlos Malvestutto, MD, instructor of infectious diseases and immunology in the department of medicine at NYU School of Medicine in New York City. “As that happens, there is an inflammatory reaction by the immune system.”

Fatigue

The inflammatory response generated by your besieged immune system also can cause you to feel tired and lethargic. Fatigue can be both an early and later sign of HIV. Ron, 54, a public relations executive in the Midwest, started to worry about his health when he suddenly got winded just walking. “Everything I did, I got out of breath,” he says. “Before that I had been walking three miles a day.” Ron had tested HIV positive 25 years before feeling so tired; fatigue during acute, or newly contracted, HIV might not be so obvious.

Achy Muscles And Joint Pain

ARS is often mistaken for the flu, mononucleosis, or another viral infection, even syphilis or hepatitis. That’s not surprising: Many of the symptoms are the same, including pain in the joints and muscles and swollen lymph glands. Lymph nodes are part of your body’s immune system and tend to get inflamed when there’s an infection. Many of them are located in your armpit, groin, and neck.

Night Sweats

About half of people get night sweats during the early stages of HIV infection, Dr. Malvestutto says. These can be even more common later in infection and aren’t related to exercise or the temperature of the room. Similar to the hot flashes that menopausal women suffer, they’re also hard to dismiss, given that they soak your bedclothes and sheets.

Sore Throat And Headache

As with other symptoms, sore throat and headache can often be recognized as ARS only in context, Dr. Horberg says. If you’ve engaged recently in high-risk behavior, an HIV test is a good idea. Get tested for your own sake and for others: HIV is most infectious in the earliest stage. Keep in mind that the body hasn’t produced antibodies to HIV yet so an antibody test may not pick it up. (It can take a few weeks to a few monthsfor HIV antibodies to show in a blood test). Investigate other test options such as one that detects viral RNA, typically within nine days of infection.

Skin Rashes

Skin rashes can occur early or late in the course of HIV/AIDS. For Ron, this was another sign that he might not have run-of-the-mill allergies or a cold. ”They were like boils, with some itchy pink areas on my arms,” Ron says. The rashes can also appear on the trunk of the body. “If [the rashes] aren’t easily explained or easily treated, you should think about having an HIV test,” Dr. Horberg says.

Nausea, Vomiting And Diarrhea

Anywhere from 30% to 60% of people have short-term nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea in the early stages of HIV, Dr. Malvestutto says. These symptoms can also appear as a result of antiretroviral therapy and later in the infection, usually as the result of an opportunistic infection. ”Diarrhea that is unremitting and not responding at all to usual therapy might be an indication,” Dr. Horberg says. Or symptoms may be caused by an organism not usually seen in people with healthy immune systems, he adds.

Weight Loss

Once called “AIDS wasting,” weight loss is a sign of more advanced illness and could be due in part to severe diarrhea. ”If you’re already losing weight, that means the immune system is usually fairly depleted,” Dr. Malvestutto says. “This is the patient who has lost a lot of weight even if they continue to eat as much as possible. This is late presentation. We still see a lot of these.” It has become less common, however, thanks to antiretroviral therapy.

A person is considered to have wasting syndrome if they lose 10% or more of their body weight and have had diarrhea or weakness and fever for more than 30 days, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Dry Cough
[/b]Have a bad cough that Benadryl, antibiotics, and inhalers don’t seem to fix? This symptom—an “insidious cough that could be going on for weeks that doesn’t seem to resolve,” Dr. Malvestutto says—is typical in very ill HIV patients.

[b]Nail Changes

Another sign of late HIV infection are nail changes, such as clubbing (thickening and curving of the nails), splitting of the nails, or discoloration (black or brown lines going either vertically or horizontally). Often this is due to a fungal infection, such as candida. “Patients with depleted immune systems will be more susceptible to fungal infections,” Dr. Malvestutto says.

Yeast Infections

Another fungal infection that’s common in later stages is thrush, a mouth infection caused by Candida, a type of yeast. ”It’s a very common fungus and the one that causes yeast infections in women,” Dr. Malvestutto says. “They tend to appear in the mouth or esophagus, making it difficult to swallow.” Ron woke up one day to find white patches on his tongue. He had thrush. For him, “It was not bothersome other than I didn’t like having it.” The infection was hard to get rid of, but finally cleared up after Ron started taking drugs to combat HIV.

Confusion or Difficulty Concentrating

Cognitive problems could be a sign of HIV-related dementia, which usually occurs late in the course of the disease. In addition to confusion and difficulty concentrating, AIDS-related dementia might also involve memory problems and behavioral issues such as anger or irritability. It may even include motor changes: becoming clumsy, lack of coordination, and problems with tasks requiring fine motor skills such as writing by hand.

Cold Sores or Genital Herpes

Cold sores (oral herpes) and genital herpes can be a sign of both ARS and late-stage HIV infection. Having herpes can also be a risk factor for contracting HIV. This is because genital herpes can cause ulcers that make it easier for HIV to enter the body during sex. And people who have HIV tend to have more severe herpes outbreaks more often because HIV weakens the immune system.

Tingling And Weakness

Late HIV can also cause numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. This is called peripheral neuropathy, which also occurs in people with uncontrolled diabetes. ”This is when the nerves are actually damaged,” Dr. Malvestutto says. These symptoms can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers and antiseizure medicines such as Neurontin (gabapentin).

Menstrual Irregularities

Advanced HIV disease appears to increase the risk of having menstrual irregularities, such as fewer and lighter periods. These changes, however, probably have more to do with the weight loss and poor health of women with late-stage infection rather than the infection itself. Infection with HIV also has been associated with earlier age of menopause (47 to 48 years for infected women compared to 49 to 51 years for uninfected women).

FashionBEWARE: Poisonous Bacteria And Poo Found Lurking At Bottom Of Women's Handbags by thinka2(op):
Most women rare clean our handbags as well as shopping bag and now latest research has confirmed that poisonous batceria "faecal streptococcus" which can can meningitis, and pseudomonas, a common hospital infection, were among the toxic terrors found at the bottom of bags.

Last week, scientists revealed most holy water at places of worship contains harmful bacteria and should come with health warnings.

Claire Powley from Mentos, said: “Our results are shocking, particularly as so many of us wouldn’t think twice about eating loose gum found in the bottom of our bag, completely unaware to the harmful bacteria we are putting into our mouths.

Deadly E coli, poisonous bacteria and traces of excrement are among the horrors that have been found lurking at the bottom of women’s handbags.

The grim findings were made by researchers after studying swabs of the insides of handbags, laptop and gym holdalls

Experts blame poor personal hygiene for the rise in bag bugs. Of those quizzed, one in three women admitted they never cleaned their handbag- what! Seriously?!

Many admitted they use them to carry shoes, dirty underwear and snotty tissues on a daily basis.

Worryingly, one in five said they would happily chew a piece of gum they found loose in the bottom of their holdall, unaware of the hygiene horrors.

The swab tests were carried out on thousands of volunteers’ handbags by Mentos Pure Fresh Gum.

Saving the environment and reusing shopping bags also comes with its own risks, experts have said.

Cross-contamination builds up in bags used over and over again and increases the chances of bringing home unwanted health risks.

Health experts advise replacing shopping bags every six months.

CelebritiesDbanj Gets Special Recognition As Savvy Showman In New York Times by thinka2(op): 2:35pm On Sep 14, 2013
Dbanj is one of the not-to-many Nigeria and African music superstars who have broken into the international scene. He has enjoyed massive success after coming into the music scene about a decade ago.

And so the New York Times featured the iconic star in today's news edition as follows:

D’BANJ PRESENTS DKM (D’ KING’S MEN)

D’Banj is one of the great African pop stars of the past decade, a charming singer but, more important, a savvy showman. For years, this Nigerian singer was at the center of the Mo’ Hits Records stable, but now he’s struck out on his own with a new label and the
compilation “D’Banj Presents DKM (D’ King’s Men)” (DB/G.O.O.D./Sony). It’s an alluring contemporary pop album with an emphasis on king-size dance music, like the militarily efficient “Don’t Tell Me Nonsense” and the flash of last year’s excellent smash hit “Oliver Twist.” D’Banj is also a savvy synthesizer of the old and new Africa, as on “Nous les Meilleurs (We the Best),” a duet with the Congolese singer Fally Ipupa. But really, D’Banj has his eye on the world; he’s signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint, and the lovely “Scape Goat (The Fix)” features what’s certainly the most cheerful version of Mr. West you’ll hear this year, or any year.

However, we understand that there can only be one Dbanj and Don Jazzy whose marriage was so divine but 20 children can't play for 20 yrs they say....are they not both super successful now cos I don't see any sense in this daft post. As a business professional, I know the koko master to be aggressively business inclined cos if u understand entertainment unlike most "dafties" that post such thing as this, you will know that entertainment in Nigeria and africa is so evolving and its now becoming a well refined brand we selling to the Global community. See as Dbanj, wizkid, psqaure, former mohit crew, inyanya to mention few have been shutting down sold out shows outside Nigeria especially in Europe and America. If u understand that business is a calculated risk, u won't be myopic to want to hold Dbanj down in achieving his aim unlike joblessness that has made u to type this maybe due to ASUU strike. Go and look at international superstars he is working and collaborating with which can make some top class artiste go green and red with jealousy (na there he go end o). CrimeSon Of Taiye Taiwo's Former Boss Gunned Down On The Street (PHOTOS) by thinka2(op): 6:34am On Sep 08, 2013
Adrien Anigo, son of Olympique Marseille boss Jose Anigo was gunned down in French city and this is the 15th gun killing in the crime-ridden city this year alone

Adrien Anigo - whose father, Jose Anigo, is the sporting director of Olympique Marseille (former club of Nigeria's super Eagle's Player, Taiye Taiwo before moving to Milan) - was also the second person in a day to be killed in the region of the southern port city

The 30-year-old was shot dead in the middle of the day by two men on a motorbike while he was getting out of a rented Renault Twingo.

Marseille's mayor and officials call for end to in-fighting to solve gangland crisis in city with the French Prime Minister last month ordering 130 police officers and 24 investigators to crack down on the gun-killing

The killing is being seen as part of a worrying and increasing gangland culture in a city rife with drugs and political corruption - even in the year it holds the title of European Capital of Culture.

Authorities say AK47s are available in the region for €500 each, and that execution-style killings - described by the state prosecutor as Marseille's 'regrettable speciality' - are becoming increasingly common.

Anigo, a restaurant owner, had been under investigation by police over armed robberies of jewellery stores and involvement in a local gang.

He was due to appear in court, having been jailed in the past before being released because of a judicial error, according to French media.

The father-of-two suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, as he was targeted by the men who fled the scene.

Jose Anigo, the director of one of France's oldest and most popular clubs, grew up on a poor estate before becoming a player at Marseille and had denied having any mafia or crime links of his own, telling the Journal du Dimanche two years ago: 'The street sucked in my son, but that's got nothing to do with anyone but the justice system.'

Tourist numbers have risen sharply in Marseille in the past six months, with the city aiming to attract 10 million visitors this year as it holds the Capital of Culture title.

Officials have had some success at cracking down on drug-smuggling, particularly the heroin trade, but it is still a hub on the cocaine route through Europe from Africa and in late Sixties, about 80 per cent of heroin in the US was trafficked from Marseille.

CelebritiesChampion Boxer Floyd Mayweather Has $123 Million In A Single Bank Account (photo by thinka2(op): 4:23pm On Sep 07, 2013
The Champion boxer has everything money can buy but some say its too bad his money can’t buy him common sense as according to ESPN The Magazine, the "narcissistic pugilist" keeps $123 million in a single bank account.

The reason being that the FDIC (US Department in charge of Bank Deposit Isurance similar to Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission) covers bank deposits up to $250,000. So if
Floyd’s bank ever goes under, the majority of his cash will go down with it.

A Yahoo Money journalist, Keown was with Mayweather in a Grand Rapids, Mich. Foot Locker when the boxer discreetly showed him his bank account receipt and said, “One account, baby.”

Keown writes: “I had heard that Floyd does his banking the old-fashioned way: going inside, talking to a real-life teller. He is also known to be a big proponent of maximum liquidity. Still, the amount of digits spread across the bottom-right corner doesn’t seem possible.”

Mayweather was the highest-earning athlete in the world from 2011 to 2012, making $85 million, according to Forbes.

It’s unclear what his exact net worth is, but it’s fair to assume that $123 million is a good chunk of it.

Is it proper using a red hot pressing iron to "straighten" your hair - so as to make it refreshed?

Is it not dangerous? Or its lack of fund to go and do so at hairdressing saloon?

CelebritiesBeyonce Tweets Picture Of Jay-z Holding Her Bums by thinka2(op): 8:58am On Sep 07, 2013
Nothing kills a marriage faster than boredom.

Beyonce, 32 and Rap mogul Jay Z, 43 are vacationing in Italy, where Beyonce celebrated her birthday. While having fun together, Queen B backed her hubby to allow him hold her by her bumbs.

However, some "analysts" and journalists are suggesting that Jay Z’s body language is unmistakable in the photos that have been taken of the couple. His slumped shoulders and the disinterest on his face are unmistakable: Jay Z is bored in his marriage to Beyonce.

Hmmmmm, can this be true? Time will tell but we sure love the couple

Celebrities‘No Athlete Has bosoms Like Me & Now Embracing My Curves-superstar Reveals by thinka2(op): 8:35am On Sep 07, 2013
Serena Williams is one of the most successful and also well-endowed atthletes world-over. She's got those killer curves that men drool over and amazing legs and arms that women envy but she revealed that her body weren’t always embraced byher until recently when she started appreciating herself. The 31-year-old she wasn’t a fan of being ‘thick’ when an being interview with Du Jour Magazine recently

Check out a few other excerpts from the interview:

"Well, I wasn’t always confident. I just started feeling comfortable with myself about six
or seven years ago. That’s why I tell people that even at 25 or 26, it’s OK if you’re feeling uncomfortable with yourself. I was too. It’s normal. I love who I am, and I encourage other people to love and embrace who they are. But it definitely wasn’t easy—it took me a while.

And having a body shape different than your older sister, Venus, who was much taller and thinner didn’t help:

I grew up with a lot of sisters—I was the youngest, and I was really thick. My sister Venus was so tall and slim, and just being in a society where a lot of people are really thin, it was hard. Especially as an athlete. No athlete has boobs like me. But I had to learn how to embrace myself and embrace my curves. And that’s something a lot of people can relate to.

Is it impossible for you to go out in public without getting recognized?

I could never go to places like [Starbucks]—I have to send someone out for me. I really don’t like to say no to pictures, so I always end up saying yes. But if you say yes to one, then there’s 20 people asking, and then there’s 30. It’s crazy, so I’m in my room a lot. During a tournament I hardly ever leave the hotel. Ever.

You have an apartment in Paris—is it less crazy there?

Paris used to be my safe haven. It was always a big sigh of relief for me there. I didn’t have to worry. But ever since I won Roland Garros [the French Open], I don’t really go out there. Or I go to the country.

Do you ever wish you could live normally?

I don’t complain about it—it’s just something you have to get used to. It’s such a humbling feeling that anyone would even watch me play. I feel so honored, honestly, by anyone who’s a fan of mine and who appreciates me.

So when you’re holed up in your apartment or a hotel, do you get cabin fever?

No. I do work and watch a lot of TV. I’m a big fan of Netflix. I just saw Orange Is the New Black, but it was too violent for me. I also spend a lot of time designing. I have two collections.

You’ve been working and training unbelievably hard for more than half your life. Are there ever mornings you wake up and think, I don’t feel like doing this anymore?

Not yet. But if I do, that’ll be the day I realize that time’s up. Right now I’m having so much fun…and I’m still pretty good at what I do [laughs]. So it’s like, why not keep going? You only get this opportunity once in your life.

In conclusion, lets learn to appreciate ourselves, you can only be YOU and no one else
