CelebritiesINCREDIBLE: Zuckerberg Want To Connect Entire World To Internet by thinka2(op): 9:03am On Aug 23, 2013
Facebook is partnering with some of the world's largest mobile technology communities to get all of the world's 7 billion people online.

"For nine years, we've been on a mission to connect the world. We now connect more
than 1 billion people, but to connect the next 5 billion we must solve a much bigger problem: the vast majority of people don't have access to the internet," Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page, along with a paper titled "Is Connectivity A Human Right?"

The tech communities include South Korean electronics giant Samsung, Finnish handset maker Nokia and wireless chip maker Qualcomm Inc.
Mark Zuckerberg connect world through internet

Wireless equipment company Ericsson, Web browser developer Opera Software and MediaTek, another wireless semiconductor company, are also founding members of Internet.org.

According to Facebook, the group's goal is to make internet access available to about 5 billion people (two thirds of the world' s population) who are not yet connected.

Nice plans... I hope they come out successful!

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned - especially when she is armed with loose change and a few plastic containers.

When faced with a court order to pay her ex-husband $50.12 as part of a divorce settlement, the aggrieved spouse ponied up the money in pennies delivered in Tupperware filled with rice and beans.

To add insult to injury, the unnamed woman wrote her husband a stinging farewell note.

‘Andy, Here's forty seven dollars and twelve cents in pennies,’ the missive read. ‘The other three dollars paid for the containers that I used. Receipt is included if you want to return them...

‘Oh! one last thing, I added beans and rice to remind you that you married a beaner : ) I hope you have a fab life! B/C I know mines 20x better without you in it!’

Photos of the coins divided into three plastic containers were posted Tuesday by the husband, identified only as Andy from Omaha, Nebraska.
Eeyah...love gone sour....and like someone put it, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!"

LiteratureContent Theft By Information Nigeria by thinka2(op): 8:30am On Aug 20, 2013
Haba, this is bad for a media house that claims to be No 1 information portal

An article titled "Nigerian Celebrities Whose Marriages Have Stood The Test Of Time" with link http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/celebrities-with-lasting-marriages.html was seen on another site, INFORMATION NIGERIA, with same caption http://www.informationng.com/2013/08/nigerian-celebrities-whose-marriages-have-stood-the-test-of-time.html as written by one Tolu

The article which was published on our site on Friday, 2nd of this month is www.tutubranch.com's original content but the article was sighted on their site
later without reference or acknowledgment to its source or author. You will agree with me that this is plagiarism. It was copied with exact content and pictures- word for word and image for image!

As the Chief Editor of www.tutubrtanch.com, I wrote a letter to them demanding an apology, specifically stating that: “We do not have issues with you appreciating our works but we hope your lofty organization can express more dignity in future”. This E-mail that was sent to them was not replied. Likewise, tags and tweets sent to @infonaija on twitter were shunned.

This is gross disrespect and lack of value for other people’s intellectual contents. I used to have so much respect for this website and was one of the very first people who sent links from their site to friends and colleagues before commencing work on www.tutubranch.com. Even when the owner was nominated for the Future Awards, I was one of the very first who congratulated him on-line despite the fact that I do not know him personally.

Nairaland is one of the best platforms on-line whereby one’s write-ups and sites are acknowledged; which is why a lot of Nigerian Bloggers and music sites choose to post their contents and links. The moderators will not only publish such articles; they would also move them to the front-page if it is “front-page worthy”. Also, they will boldly include the name of the site and the “click-able” back-link to it. Now, that’s fantastic, despite the fact that the site is a forum!

You will agree with me (for some of us who have on-line platforms) that building an online platform is challenging and tedious with time, resources, electricity, internet connection and communication posing itself as one of the greatest challenges. Being a young Nigerian Corps member, these challenges are further heightened by the near-rural setting in Niger State where I found myself contributing my quota in my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). Yet, is it not better to do something worthwhile with what I have passion for as a Mass Communicator than to engage myself in “no-gloryfing” activities?

With bloggers and on-line writers like Linda Ikeji, Gistyinka, Ladun Liadi, Kemi Filani, Laila Ikeji and so on borrowing information from each other and editing them properly, it is rather ridiculous that a site which claims to be No 1 information site in Nigeria will just pull original content from another site, copy and paste it without any sort of referencing. We respect some of the most powerful media brands like Vangurd, Punch, Guardian, Thisday, Complete Sports, Encomium, City People and few others who are the usual go-to in term of authentic information and content. And so, despite re-writing their content, we still deem it fit to also acknowledge them in our write ups.

This niche is true, “Content owner is king and it’s good to pay due acknowledgement to who deserves it”.

RomanceHelp!!! My Wife Is A Lesbian! by thinka2(op): 3:08pm On Aug 19, 2013
Dear Tutu Branch,

It is with sorrow in my heart that I write this to you. I needed to speak out,and cannot hide it anymore. It has been close to a year since my wife allowed me come close to her, not to talk of us having sex with each other. Then, I started seeing Sandra....I was sex starved and it would be devilish of me to subject my wife to rape, wouldn't it?

Sandra was sweet to me and taught me new styles in bed; I was in heaven. This was all I wanted with my wife but it seemed sex irritated her. Most times, I appealed to her friend, Lara, to help talk to her. Lara was a friend of hers from university days, they shared all together, except me.
Some things started to happen afterwards.... First, my wife sacked the maid, complaining that she was rude and I might be sleeping with her. Then much later, she found out about I and Sandra...because of my love for my wife despite all, I let Sandra go.

I noticed that Lara, my wife's friend just hated me for no reason. I never knew why, until one day in my in-laws' place when the burble burst. I needed to go to the loo and the one for the visitors was occupied, so I decided to use the one in my wife's former room when she was still in her parents' house. I just dashed into the room because I was pressed and lo and behold, I met my wife and Lara half naked, Lara holding my wife's breasts while they were kissing each other.

The urine I tried to hold just let itself out, I was speechless. I just turned, walked downstairs, straight to my car and went home. It later occurred to me that she kicked the maid out because she saw the two of them in bed. She has been begging me ever since, sending her people without telling them what she did. I am confused, is marriage really for better or for worse?

PoliticsDISCRIMINATION: South African Women Married To Nigerians Threaten Naked Protest by thinka2(op): 11:18am On Aug 13, 2013
Just when we thought that the regime of apartheid and everything that bears its similitude was gone, xenophobia seems to be the growing attitudes by South Africans against foreigners especially Nigerians:

As a reaction to discrimination, South African women married to Nigerians have threatened to stage a mass protest in Johannesburg.

Mrs. Lindelwa Uche, Chairperperson of the United Nigerian Wives in South Africa (UNWISA) was quoted as saying: “...We decided to come together to fight against stigmatization, discrimination, and humiliation, against our families by government departments and agency and the officials of the government, the community and our-in-laws.

“If we don’t stand up for our children when they are being called derogatory names like “Small lee kwere-kwere” or turning their natives names upside down deliberately by our community in the name of making them feel like aliens, outcast, and unwelcome, or even when their Nigerian aunties and uncles call them bustards, then their future is in jeopardy.

“If we don’t stand up when our countrymen and women, officials and in-law address us as paper wives, gold diggers, stupid and opportunist, who will do that for us, ” Uche queried.

She added; “After the official launch of our association, our next action will be more than just a protest march to the city of Johannesburg home affairs office. It is going to be a protest where we will strip on the street of Johannesburg, so that people and government will know that there is an existing body and that we are not happy with the way our non South Africans husband and children are being treated."

So, Nigerians are being discriminated against in neighbouring South Africa? It is simply appalling!

Madonna married first husband Sean Penn in 1985, filing for divorce two years later and split from second husband Guy Ritchie split in 2008 after which she said she would rather ‘get run over by a train’ than marry again, but it seems her new younger lover has made her reconsider.

PoliticsSouth Korea Launches Electrified Road by thinka2(op): 4:41pm On Aug 11, 2013
A city in South Korea is now testing an electrified road which allows public buses to recharge their batteries from buried cables as they travel. It would be tested over the next four months on a 24-kilometre route in the southern city of Gumi.

The power from the technology can either be used to drive the vehicle, or simply to charge the battery. Because of the constant supply of electricity, the battery size does not have to be larger than a fifth of a conventional EV battery. In addition to this, the non-contact system replaces fully the need of the overhead wires that we’re all used to seeing.

Unfortunately, no great invention comes at a cheap cost. With each Online Electric Vehicle (OLEV) being worth around $630,000, the biggest challenge in front of developers, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is to bring down the technology.

“The technology is readily available but the question is how to bring down the cost,” said Park Jong-Han, manager of the company that produced the OLEV prototypes.

“Once the cost goes down, I believe more cities will be interested in commercializing the new transport network,” Park told AFP. The system has already been partially trialled on a much smaller scale at an amusement park and on the KAIST campus.

2:That annoying moment is when someone tries to look at her screen while she is texting! And she thinks, "Dude u suck!!"

3:While you're ignoring her, another guy is giving her attention...and while you're giving her problems, another guy is listening.

4:A best friend isn't someone who's just always there for her. It's someone who understands her a bit more than she understands herself.

5: She's just human, she has weaknesses. She makes mistakes and she experiences sadness...but she learns from all these things to make her a better person.

6:Anything you say will be used against you, in an argument, 10 months from now, because she is a
woman...and so, never forgets. Anything. Ever.

7: She's single, you're single. I like you, you like me. We are not dating. Am I missing out something here?

8:Dear ex, she doesn't hate you. she's just disappointed you turned into everything you said you'd never be.

9:Missing someone + No texts from them = Worst feeling.

Sincerely, Girls.

Celebrities"My Tattoo Ministers Christ To Me"- Actress, Bimbo Thomas by thinka2(op): 8:17am On Aug 11, 2013
Here's what actress, Bimbo Thomas said recently in an interview with the Nigerian eye:

"My style is me. I owe myself the look. I admire a few fashionistas, and good looks as a whole gell for me. Whenever I see anything good, I love it. So, my style is me. I define what I want to look like on a daily basis. I do tell a story with my looks. I could look chic or trendy... The design of the tattoo on my arm is crucifix, which symbolizes Christ, His passion."

"If you look closely, there is heart design there, it stands for love. It shows that Christ loves us and for Him to have died for us, he had taken away all our sins and burdens. He has told us to love as he has loved us. I chose this design of tattoo because of the love of Christ. I think by wearing it, even when someone hurts me and I want to retaliate angrily, somehow something would tell me that you are wearing a crucifix on your arm.

"If Christ could do this for me, why can’t I let go and love my fellow human being regardless. By so doing, I let the anger go. My tattoo ministers Christ to me."

Hmnnn...talk about diversities of ministration...but how come the tattoo does not minister decency too...? Just wondering...

As reported by CNN, an hotel in UAE has had to feed 20,000 people every day in this month of Ramadan. Wow! How did they manage to do it? It took planning...

Executive Chef at the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel who manages a team of 500 people speaks:

"It's a lot of food,I get my calculator out and start calculating what I need. which mean 300,000 chicken for the one month of Ramadan!

"Cooking starts at 6 a.m.

"During the working day, 7,000 kilos of vegetables are peeled and diced, 5,000 kilos of rice boiled in vast pots and 10,000 chickens cut in two and roasted.

"By the end of the month, 800,000 kilos of food will have been prepared in the kitchen.
Every slice and dice is done by the clock, until all meals are packaged and date-stamped by 3 p.m.

"The food is then transported in heated trolleys aboard trucks to the mosque, a short drive away.

What's more...the meals are given out for free because the cooking is sponsored by The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

It really isn't easy to cook for 20,000 people, not just in one day but for one whole month!
Every day the same standard, the same quality. With organization, nothing really is impossible!

* Sonny and Betty Irabor. These couple make a good example of one who have stood the test of time. They are into different fields and they are doing well in their fields of choice. I haven't heard one scandal about them and I do not hope to.

* Austin JayJay and Nkechi Okocha. Unlike many football stars, JayJay has been able to put all his golden eggs in one deserving basket. These couple have an inspiring story but I guess that'll be a blog for another day. Nkechi remains the great woman behind this successful footballer.

N.B: 2face and Annie idibia: They might have gotten married recently, but their relationship has gone through a lot of ups and downs and they are still kicking it. I wonder why Nollywood is still silent about mirroring their story on stage. Or would producing a movie based on their story take as much time as it took the couple to make their marriage decision? Just thinking out loud *lol*!

And....oh...no! The list isn't complete without the first Nigerian couple!!!

Goodluck and Patience Jonathan: Their marriage is a proof of the fact that love is indeed patient! Hate or Love "mother" of the nation, one thing that stand out, her hubby sure love her to pieces!

* Isaac and Nneka Ene of Goge Africa. These couple love to have fun! I'll tell you they've been everywhere you can ever think of, especially in Africa. They cheer together, move together, do the same things and laugh hard; I would say they love each other's company. Compatibility can go no further.

* Patrick and Iretiola Doyle. These couple know how to keep it on the low. They are one of the few icons whose stories don't get splashed in the papers just like that. This could mean they are understanding and super-united. What do you think?

* Tunde and Wunmi Obe. TWO are living life to the fullest. They are one of the few couples who love to do the same things. What's more? They look alike, when you know their kilos, you'll see what I mean.

* Richard Mofe Damijo and Jumobi Adegbesan. What a fine couple they make. When beauty and prince charming are in sync, I can bet they'll beget a Cinderella, a Snowwhite, a Pocahuntas or one of those belles we see on TV. Nice combo guys!

CelebritiesNigerian Celebrities Whose Marriages Have Stood The Test Of Time! by thinka2(op):
These days, all we get to read about is celebrity marriages that have tumbled and crashed. Now, how about we acknowledge and celebrate those who have been able to keep their homes steady? Here's a list of Nigerian celebrities whose marriages have stood the test of time!

*Capt Matthew Ekehinde and Omotola Jalade Ekehinde. These couple have always had each other's back. Capt Ekehinde is Omotola's number1 fan and he has been supporting her all through her career. Isn't that sweet?!

* Emeka And Emma Ike. The Nollywood lover boy still holds it down with his sweetheart despite the many distractions in his field. Notwithstanding the large population of admirers among fans, colleagues and friends, Emma still remains the only one.
Joke Silver and Olu Jacobs

* Joke sylva and Olu Jacobs- I have a dream that someday, nollywood, and hollywood perhaps, would produce the love story of this couple. In spite of fame and stardom, they have enjoyed 25 years of marriage. Beat that if you can...!

* Ramsey Noah and Emike Phillips Noah. Here's one more fiiiiiine boy of nollywood. Obviously, he knew what he wanted, went for it and stuck to it. Thumbs up handsome!
