Autos / Re: Car For Half A Million? by thithi(f): 10:16pm On Sep 05, 2009
That half a million is only 3200$$.
Shipping alone is like 1200$$
Clearing alone, you looking at roughly 200K Naira.
So what do you have left.
Talk to the govt to do something for the economy to get better, and Naira to appreciate a little.
Meanwhile, remember you cant ship anything older than 9+1 year old car to Nigeria.
So blame not the dealer.

hakinyemi:

I feel your plight bro. No be small thing if person wan buy car for that range. Economy no too strong, dealers sef wan kill person wit their pricing.
You see cars that have done 200,000 MILES shocked ( that's like to the moon & back) going for crazy prices. Not encouraging @ all.
Take your time. There're some credible dealers on this forum so you'll definitely get something.
Wish me luck too.
cool

Dont blame the players, blame the game.
Average drive mileage per year is 20,000 miles, so a ride of year 2000 is basically 10 years old, remember it was made a year before as always and 10 years multiply by 20,000 miles, you will get 200,000 miles, and meanwhile 200,000 miles driven in the western world is better than 100 miles driven in Lagos roads.
Business / Re: NEPA/PHCN Should Pay Their Staff On Commission by thithi(f): 8:04pm On Sep 05, 2009
that is not fair for the NEPA boys at all.
There is no map to help them move from one location to the next.
The traffic on the road is unimaginable, hence you want them pain on commission? wont work.
The electricity aint there, so how can they give it?

Politics / Re: Do U Think We Will Ever Get Enough Power Supply In Nigeria? by thithi(f): 7:51pm On Sep 05, 2009
Seun:

We will never get enough power deregulation and privatization. The demand is ever-increasing.
All these tiny African countries around us cannot supply enough power to make a difference to us.

those tiny countries are doing better than the "giant" Nigeria.

Nigeria has what it takes to generate enuf electricity, but we lack vision and readiness at the helm of power.
Too much conflict of interests

Investment / Re: Real Estate Vs Stock Market Investing For Small Capital Investors by thithi(f): 12:35am On Sep 01, 2009
markmogul:

Id advise u to go into d stockmarket for d following reasons
1
the realestate market requires quite a lot of fund to go into<at least 500k minimal >
2
the stockmarket is at its lowest period in years and with d application of some fundamental principles one is assured of steady returns ad infinitun
3
real estate investment is quite illiquid ie difficult to quickly dispose for urgent cash
4
stock prices are at such a depressed low that dividend appreciation and bonus would make u realize your capital and dispose of in less than 2 yrs this cant happen in real estate.

Enjoy

You have a point there, but in nigeria where a man that has so many coys listed on the NSE is the president of same NSE, i will be careful
Business / Re: How To Send Money To US? by thithi(f): 12:34am On Sep 01, 2009
Anyone with a Dom account with any of the banks in Nigeria can send money to any other part of the world
it is called Wire Transfer and here are the procedure.
1. Change your money into $$ at the black market {wish our govt cld change that, but till we get a govt with brain, we have to patronize the black market.}

2.Get someone with dom account, if you dont have one.
3. Get all the information of the beneficiary in the USA {will advice to go to your bank and inform them you want to get some money from africa, and you need all the info that you need to send to them, such as routing number, account number and all that good stuff} - this is to make sure no mistake at all.
4. Give this info and the money to the bank in Nigeria that you are using for the money transfer.
5. Make sure all info is right.

Within few days or hours, the money will be in the beneficiary accounts and walla, u can start enjoying.

Hope i have been of help.

How i wish we can do western union, but we are not that privi
