Morning Guys, after waiting for 5 weeks, i have been granted CAQ. But right now, I am thinking of deferring my admission till Winter Semester (January)because of the time frame. I am supposed to resume 4th of September. What do you bosses think please? Can i still make it or i should defer the admission?

And I am thinking of changing school if i am given study permit but i don't know if Concordia university refunds tuition fees please..

Right now, i don't know where to start from...and i am already gathering all the required documents...

You do not need to write stories in your purpose statement. An overview of key points would give inclinations to a purposeful decision to study in Canada than situational.

Your key points should be:
- The aim of pursuing your program.

-Reason for choosing the program, institution and country( do not generalize. Give a precise reason or two. An officer will weigh these reasons against the option of studying in Nigeria)

- How you have prepared for the program.(Past experience, education. It should be in sync or relative to your intended program)

- How you intend to apply the knowledge gained from the program.( Again, do not generalise. Give a realistic plan and strategy. They should be within your ability. It is believable when they are)

-Your short and long term goal(s)- (Identify a specific problem and a possible solution that would require a process from completing your intending program for your long term goal. Your short term goal can be an obvious one and specific to something already existing)

- A strong concluding statement.


Truth is, there is no rule of thump on writing a purposeful statement. How you express yourself should be objective, realistic and devour of fairy tales or make believe stories. They won't impress an officer. Also take note that they are looking out for your values and other things you are bringing to their Country.

Officers know majority of students especially Nigerians are not likely to return after study. They have statistics already. Keep your stories real, achievable and drawn largely from that which you have found interest in,
your passion.

10 pages, are you writing a book? Don’t write any long stories abeg. VOs tend to be wary of applicants who are freely giving out info about themselves that was never requested. Don’t start exposing yourself and giving out information about you that will prejudice your application. Keep it simple, concise and straight to the point. That’s the recipy to a winning application.

CAQ takes 20 working days after document reception in Quebec, so relax. You can apply via online or paper route the choice is yours, just make sure you attached the photocopy of the CAQ that will be sent to u, through ur mail.

Been a silent reader on here. I just thought it would be best to tell the house what I have been doing so that I no go Bleep up.
My case...
Applied to four universities last year, was about chasing express entry when Concordia University gave me admission few days ago.

Paid $250 acceptance fee and realised I had to apply for CAQ which I did the following day.

Already sent the documents back to Quebec on Friday.

I am just confused here, Quebec said my details will be sent to vfs Lagos before I can apply for study permit.

Can I still use the online route to apply for the permit after being given CAQ?

Guy, if you are in oyo state, consider relocating or go to ibadan where you might get opportunities, apply for teaching jobs in lagos here and put a lagos address on your cv also incase, dont relent bro. you can get something even if its not your field.

Banks recruit grads of 26 and thereabout, apply to some of them. bank marketing is somewhat easy to come by. it can be stressful with targets but u get 3 months probation period at least and get paid also.
