Okay then.
Generally, you have a point. Mothers know when daughter is up to something, we were once young, we know the tricks. Daughters don't want to get busted. Daughter will use her leg and waka to dad, he automatically becomes her 'good cop'...same applies to males.

The problem is limiting it to bathing or should I say using bathing as the perfect example. I would very much get impatient with a child taking all my time in the bathroom (when I have a lot to do)_ irrespective of the gender. That the child is a girl doesn't make me angrier...heck, why should it?
The topic here is bathing and that is why i just used that as an example.
You made me do a google search on 'Are mothers more patient with their sons than their daughters?'and it's interesting what i found.I wasn't so wrong afterall.

Uncle, the issue isn't who kids are closer to_ I only used that to draw an analogy.
You asked why women are not generally patient with their daughters, then went on to use bathing as an example. Makes me wonder how many women you know. grin .Saying women are impatient while bathing their 'daughters' is *******.

End of discussion @ bolded, it has nothing to do with the gender of the child, but time-management. I hope you get my bias now.
If you look through the thread, you'll see i quoted two people who shared the same experience and one said it had to do with time management.Bathing is not the only thing,it's just the point here.
I have observed quite a no of women because my profession deals with psychology too.I don't think my observation is wrong.
It could have something to do with the genders being closer to the opposite.

You mind men and their entitlement mentality? huh
Both sexes have entitlement mentality so don't make that a male thing.

Rape is wrong in every way. It's not just males who rape anyway.

E tire me o.
Maybe we should also ask why men are not patient with their sons, after all male kids tend to be closer to their mothers too.
I'm patient with my kids- male and female.I've only observed men being inpatient with unruly boys(and girls of course).

Megareal's reason however explains the reason for the impatience.

@bolded,aren't mothers more patient with their boys- especially because they tend to be closer to their mothers as you said.

You think it's restricted to their daughters?

Or you want to bring the whole 'women are their own worst enemies ' into the mother /daughter relationship? undecided
Well,it's just what I've observed.
Family › Re: Is It Right For A Man To Bath His Own Daughter Who Is Over 3 Years? by thorpido(m): 7:58pm On Jan 25, 2017
megareal:
It's because we have too many things to do at the shortest possible time. So a wriggling, dancing, running child during baths or feedings or any other time upsets our timing and stretches the duration for each chore.

We are mainly patient when we've exhausted our mental list. Then we can feel at ease and play.
I'll agree with your reason.Sounds authentic.

megareal:
My husband bathes our 2+ daughter without qualms. She even prefers him bathing her cos he is more patient. (She dances and sings for him during her bath) I don't see him stopping anytime soon.

Any man who has sexual thoughts towards any child, talkless of his own child is a mad man not fit ro live.
jaszplus12:
Fine ...I've a 6 year old daughter and still bath her clean her after toilet and boy, she feels I'm more tolerant of her "childish" ways than her mum. Fact is some women have no patience in them and this drives away the kids. I also bathed my boys til ages 9 and 7...so no qualms til you observe that she's now shy to expose herself before you...be very observant of her slightest behaviour in that direction. Das all!
Why are women generally not patient with their daughters?
My daughter cries when the mum is bathing her but whenever I have to do it,it's a peaceful time.

If you get aroused bathing your 3yr old daughter then just stop.
I bathe my daughter older than that age.The key is knowing when to stop and when she's able to do it herself.

Trust me, I've tried, we've both spent lot of cash calling and trying to iron things out...but I feel if we see and talk better. I asked if he'll come down to where I am, he said no, he's busy at work so I offered to come down to see him, he said no, he'll find time to come see me probably by mid year...I told him I'll come around, since then he blocked all communication channel with me.
You should move on.Get a lawyer and file papers.Don't go into the relationship with the family friend as a rebound however.Take your time.It may not be him.

Thank you very much Sir.
I'm 22hrs away from him ATM..but I'm willing to make things work between us, but on his own part, its like he takes one step forward and 3steps backward.
He's not even talking to me, he has blocked all means of communication with me.
Try to establish communication with him and have a talk.Ask him what the future of your union is.It's going to work or maybe not.If it won't no point struggling with it.It takes two to make it work.
prestigiouslady:
thank you sir.
I'm a strong believer of marriage as a for better for worse thing, hence my decision to bring in the olive branch..
As per the lonely part, I don't think he is, cos he particularly told me "he has got structures in place" and its too complicated.
on one occasion, he asked me if I heard he is expecting a set of twins in few months time, how would I feel? So I know he's seeing someone else now.

But I don't just want a broken home for my child
A home is not broken just because the parents are separated,it's broken also if there's abuse and strife between couples. The kids get damaged seeing that too.
Family › Re: My Ex Or My New Man? by thorpido(m):
I would have said you should try to work your marriage with your husband but it seems he is formed in a bad way and can't really change.Getting back with him will probably be the same of the same.

Maybe you should do a six-month trial with your husband.Go back to the house and try to see if anything has changed. If you discover it's still same, sue for divorce and move on with your life. You're still young,so it's best to make the decision early.

You could try for a new relationship if your marriage doesn't work but be sure the man wants you for you and not just because he wants to use you.

How did you come about the Yoruba names (Oluwaseun) as it appears between your name on Facebook?

I simply converted my native name (Kelechukwu) to Yoruba. I love the Yoruba culture, I’m very Nigerian.
You love people of other tribes and you're a grade A student.
Many dullards here on Nairaland are only good at IPOB-Igbo and conehead-afonja fight.

Your husband is frustrated and the economy is not smiling. He however is just not matured enough to discuss with you rather than saying things like 'it's my money'.
