I have it on good authority that the guys that visited NLNG today received their offer letters.

Can someone kindly confirm or deny this?

I am yet to speak with a friend that was suppose to give me feedback after the appointment with NLNG today. He is in a marathon meeting and he promised to call me back when he is through.

Any information on this is eagerly awaited.

Thank you all.

yeap they were given their offer letters

pgm, my brother.u funny die o.i read with so much amusement d issue of your eye stuff.i heard nlng took 89 souls and i can bet my life they aint dropping no one.its not like u are blind.stop the apprehension. God don give u.nobody fit take am from u.except u want to follow thoughts plan A that his friend had to start thinking of dropping nlng for(the biggest lie of the year).so bro relax.u are in.

adrianic:

@thought,why are u so fond of taking off after propounding new theories.just last week u told us about a lofty plan A u had that a friend had to ignore(or is it almost ignore) nlng because of.when people started asking u to tell them d "koko" of the gist,u just bolted.i am hereby applying to know o.i want to know dt job or thing in naija dt somebody would "blank" nlng because of even without starting with d company.please uncle, joo show me d way.i will never let u go unless u tell me

adrianic, there is no need talking about it. You have said it all "the biggest lie of the year". Since it is a lie just forget about it. I would always be on this thread, as I said ealier, "visible or invisible" untill those who were called are finally engaged and even beyond then.

I always tell people this "if I am white and everyone around me says I am black, I 'll just ignore them because all their talk can never make me turn from white to black- it is just not possible!!!. So believe what you wish. if you noticed, most people if not all who were interested in what I said already had the NLNG job and it is my opinion that they remain there (contented) and happy with what they have (NLNG) most people would do anything and i mean anything as we have seen even selling their . . . . . to get their job.

I could have remained silient but I only used myself as an example so that those who were unsucCessful would know that the world is not over. There are opputunities out there begging to be used. I played my cards well and thank God for it. To succeed, you need to keep watching, thinkkiinnng and searching. I would have told you another "unbelieveable story" about a decision I took earlier but for the fact that my identity would be know by those who know me they were so surprised. So my people lets be UP AND DOING, WE MUST SUCCEED IN LIFE.

WELL SINCE IT IS THE BIGGEST LIE OF THE YEAR FINNNNEEEEE !!!!!! IT IS YOUR OPINION- YOU HAVE JUST SUCCEEDED IN CALLING ME BLACK. . . . .  BUT YOU KNOW WHAT . . . . . .  I REMAINNNNG,  . . . . WHHHIIIIITTTTTEEEE.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Which Way Nlng? by thought: 12:20am On Nov 25, 2007
@kuwena

You keep on calling me. . . . . . thought, thought. . . . . .3) Thought. . . . . .  why are you waking me up from my sweet sleep. I said earlier that I am always around.

Yes thought is very essential especially when it is carefully and critically thought out. As you know well, I have been with this thread from birth and followed it through to this stage. I knew that we would get to this stage someday. Before opkos came to change the tide of the people as at then, the NLNG job looked like a birth right for some. At a point, when I felt the time for results was near, I returned like the voice in the wilderness to warn many about the concequences and implication of the outcome of the result (I mean only about 90 people were called so definitely not all of us would be called) and before we could say jack, the results were out and now what do we have . . . . . . . . . . . .  and these stories about selling your soul to the devil, the existence and non- existence of God.

Your story is really a sad story. I know your write-up was more of what you felt at that moment and not what you really meant. But if I might ask, when you become very rich as you said. and possess all the money you talked about, what next? if you end up ruining NLNG what next? is that all it is to your life. So now the most important thing in your life is revenge. If I might ask, revenge over what? If I might ask, what calibre of people were with you on your interview day? where they write-offs or where they equally intellectuals. For me, just anybody could have been selected. Please nobody should get me wrong, I am not trying to say the process was free and fair(afterall this is Nigeria where anything goes).

For me, the great story here is not what sorrows you went through but THE FACT THAT YOU WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME ALL THOSE DIFFICULTIES. . . . . MY FRIEND KUWENA IS A GREAT MAN. It would really be nice to know you in person.

Personally, when a process (especially recriutment) takes such long time to be released, i change my focus cos I believe that anything can happen (this is Nigeria). When I wrote the second stage test, I was very confident I would pass- and I did. But a the interview, one would expect to have highly trained professionals on the panel but that was not the case. Take my case as an example, as an engineer I felt i should have been interviewed by an Engineer especially as some of my answers wer technical. I mean, I spent so much time trying to break down the process (to a lay-mans view) to be the simplest posssibe because those on my interview panel were not ENGINEERS and found it very difficult comprehending. So tell me how they would appreciate what I talked about even if I told them I built a supersonic okada.

Well, for me NLNG was my plan B, thank God my plan A has worked out. I have change course from plan C to A (believe it or not). I actually know someone who went for the NLNG medicals and has declined or would decline the offer so as to follow my route.(Plan A). (so one extra space has been created. . . . . .).

So kuwena you see, someone is rejecting the almightly NLNG. Implication- NLNG cannot be the end of the road, life cannot just end because of NLNG.

You need to be a little more patient you never know what God has in stock for you. With you current job you can still cater for you younger brother. Take some quite time and examine your life. Be very objective with yourself. If I understand your post well, then it means your brothers are in good terms with your family.  I then dare to ask why your brothers have not been killed by your family if they are so evil.

You would see that you are much better than many who had so much. Kuwena, from the way you talked, I always knew that there was something you made up your mind to prove about life, who knows, may be leaving the country might be the solution or may be hanging on here in Nigeria. The truth is YOU ALONE CAN DETERMINE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU. You know yourself best.

So kuwena, always keep faith, GOD in heaven is with you whether or not you acknowledge it.

@opokonwa,

dont worry, I cant be pursued from this thread. Everything I do is with a reason, so no shaking as far as there is life, there is always a "thought", and I would always be there visible or invisible. I actually wasnt around for sometime and now just as I had earlier "thought" the letters are out, unfortunately I am yet to recieve any letter. So CONGRATULATIONS TO  ALL THOSE WHO HAVE RECEIVED LETTERS.

Hmmmmmm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .opoks. . . . . . . . .  when I read your mail, I laughed with exictment one of my many psychological treaments had walked again (You see if everybody kept on begging you to come back, you would have never come back. You would have remained on the backgroud enjoying how people beckon on you to return (the God-like spirit)). I is a simple tatics of human relation management. You say the exact opposite of what you expect of someone so that he does exactly what you expect of him/

It is mere psychcology, From your behavioural characteristics which I have studied carefully (i actually pick it from your posts- profiling), I knew that my last statement would definitely bring you back (its all about dealing with your emotional senses- I was almost disappointed when you delayed in replying)- and it did. So you see; you are really not in control of yourself or emotions as you proclaim. As for adrainic, you (opoks) said it yourself in one of your posts, he is (becoming) too predictable.

Well that is by the way: kewena thanks for your info, I hope @mhm could still be more elaborate as it relates to the questions raise earlier.

A poser(I know this is not an Interview but. . . ): Why do you want to work in NLNG, what do you hope to achieve? Do you want a job there simply because of the pay, the work environment, their policies or because of the type of job your being offered? or are you at this point cos you saw a job advert and just applied?  what are your longterm plans in the company is there really something(apart from pay) you expect of them? What if. . . . . ,  . .your expectations are not met that is if there is one, what if. . . . . . . . . (for those who are heading to bonny) you are confined to bonny forever. What if . . . . . . .(for those who feel they cannot be post to bonny due to their field of study) you are posted to bonny permanently. What if. . . . What if . . . . . . you are given a job not in your field of study. . . . .

and the "what if" keeps going on. . . . . . . . . . . . . you could add more. . . . . .  and finally, what if we are not selected(God forbid!!!, reality though). . . . . . . how would we take it. . . . . .

Lots of questions. . lets see the answers . . . . . . so we wait for answers to the "what ifs". .

Good to have you back!!!(thats the essence of vacation: Have sometime to cool off).

I think we all appreciate and accept your apology. I understand you were only reacting to opoks comment. But you know what:  Some words are better spoken when they are not said, we were and are still watching, your action (not argument) would have proved your claim.

I remember when opokonwa came in newly, he and Adrian we throwing missiles everywhere, it was just like the Gulf war, You were representing israel, Opokonwa Iraq and Adrian America. While opokonwa and adrian were fighting, opokonwa would throw a few missiles at you, Adrianic would step in to defend you. . . . . . and it continued in that pattern Adrianic was even named defense minister. . . . . . ,  ,  . . . . . . . we all waited to see "israels" reply to such destruction. . . . . . . . . .  . . what was your response . . . . . . (and on my sit I said shit, this guy is mature though opokonwa saw it as cowardice but it really didnt matter; it was his personal opinion)to me that was a true show of maturity. Naturally, we would have expected you to join the war but you did the exact opposite](that was why your post about haters etc really let you down)

But anyway, that is in the past forward ever backwards never.

it would be nice to have everyone back, but really the choice is theirs. If they come back- wonderful, but if not- we would keep on moving. I really did not see any reason why opoks left. He actually had planned it right from the start(leave when the ovation is loudest and become a martyr, then sit back and watch people beg him to come back). He really didnt need to annouce his leaving, he should have just stop writting- but that wouldnt have given him much popularity (so he felt).
I know you have talked to opokonwa to come back; but i can assure you he would never come back. So stop begging him (or any other person).

Well that again is by the way.

kuwena:

I also have a personality test that will help you guys know more about your temparament and disposition. I will send it to you on two conditions:

1. you send me your email addy grin
2. you send me your score when done; it will help me to understand you better.

A deal?

it is that Dr. Phils test- I had 42.

WAT ABT THOSE OF US THAT HAVENT GOTTEN ANY YET AND ARE STILL PATIENTLY WAITNG FOR NLNG AND TRUSTING GOD.

@uche7869,

You have spoken well, you see most of us forget that the position we are today was given to us by his grace. While aiming for higher positions and "detesting" our present jobs, we forget that there are so many ther that would do anything just to be in our position.
Job dissatifaction -that must be the major reason for the "show of frustration" by many who are already gainfully employed.

I stumbled on a  certain thread here:

5 Rules Of Work -- Break Them And Lose Out

Are you a career man or woman? Do you want to get the most out of your work, then follow these 5 rules.

1st Rule: ENJOY YOUR WORK
When you enjoy your work, you enjoy life. We spend an average of 8 hours at work and we will be enslaved if we don't learn to love those 8 hours. So enjoy yor work.

2nd Rule: SEE IT AS A BLESSING:
It is an opportunity to serve others. Work is a blessing and you are setting in motion services to other re in need of it. Your work is a gift from God. Work makes our day go by. A day seems like an hour while the opposite is the case we wake up in the morning and there is no work. A day seems like an hour. It is tough doing nothing all day.

3rd Rule: BE THE BEST
You must be the best at what you do. Perform well at all times. Exceed all expectations. Look out for opportunities to exhibit your skills, to produce results that lasts. Go beyond the call of duty. Go the extra mile. You must work continously. When many have given up, you must continue searching for answers.

4th Rule: SEE BEYOND WORK
For every task you complete, you have said something of yourself. It becomes part of history. The smallest job has a definite place. Leave your foot prints in the sands of your organisation.  A man that sets his heart on acheiving a task can do it no matter the challenges.

5th Rule: STAND OUT
You would always be remembered for a job well done. Volunteer yourself or your service. Get noticed. Be enthusiastic because it is contagious. Use the vehicle of work to drive you to your destination. Look for opportunities to do more. Continually develop yourself. Be an example to many within the organisation.

The first three rules are very important.

1) if you feel the work you have now is not good enough for you then resign and sit at home(see if thats a better option) till you get a better one, else enjoy it while you wait for something better.

2) No matter the type of work you do, always see it as a blessing. So many pray to have your job.

3) Always try to be the best at what you do. it might actually be a stepping stone.

For me, I see my university days just as a race- that you beat all other competitors in a 100m race doesn't mean you would beat "even the same competitors " in the 400m, 800, or even 1500m race.

The race at university is over for us, now the umpire has blow the whistle and a "different race" has begun - With good results from the  first race, one is at an advantage, but "IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE" our being the best in this other race- THAT IS A BITTER FACT OF LIFE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!!!. As we all know, bill gates is a not genius and was not the best in his class, but today he would easily employ the best from the best universities in the world.

So please lets remove such ideas from our minds and hearts(I have already done that), it is time to sit up and fight the good fight of life, our "past victories" in the battle field can only make other warriors fear us but it cannot defeat them.

A GOOD GRADE ESPECIALLY IN NIGERIA (WITH SO MANY OTHER INTELLIGENT INDIVIDUALS) CAN ONLY FACILITATE YOUR GETTING A GOOD JOB BUT NOT GUARANTEE IT,. . . . . . .  PERIOD.

Come, NLNG would, when it time is. So lets sit patiently and wait for them. But while we wait, please join me, lets sit at this "round table" joyfully and think of other ways to achieve greateness and conquer the world,. . . . . . . .  or what do you think. . . . . . .  are you of a different opinion. . . . . .  bring it on. . . . . . . .  lets hear and feel it.

My people,. . .  I beg to stop at this point,. . . . its been wonderful, have a lovely, nice and fruitful week.

it takes a great man to see the greatness in others

Thanks for that info, I only hope that it is as you have said. Please could you help give us a hint or two of what it really feels like working for NLNG.

1) What do you like about it
2) What do you hate about it
3) What are the major challenges
4) How is the working environ ment and staff relationship
5) Do you think things are done by merit or otherwise

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Which Way Nlng? by thought: 4:25am On Oct 19, 2007
@pgm, Im cool, no sweat.

It is obvious the spirit in this thread is at its "all- time-lowest" due to dashed expectations. To me, when I look back, and recall that this race was actually started with over 18000 people, it further reduced to some 6000-7000 people and then to 600 (never mind if my figures are correct or not)- I keep faith cos I have gone just to far to get frustrated.

We easily forget what we have been through- the rowdy first test, the energy and time consuming second test where some of us (like me)  were told to expect our letters in two weeks, while some others were told 6 weeks. it eventually took about 10 weeks to receive the IV (but we still kept faith!!!!!).

You know after my interview I had a brief discussion while collecting my transport fare

@thought: Sir, when we should expect to hear from NLNG
NLNG Staff: before the end of september
@thought:  laughs (ha ha ha)
NLNG Staff: why are you laughing
@thought: during the second test, we were told the result would be out in 2 weeks (some 6weeks) but it took
over 10 weeks to get the letters. In this case it you are saying by the end of september(about 2 months),so we should expect it by the end of october or even november.
NLNG Staff: just smiles.

From that point on I "zeroed" my mind and was prepared for a very long wait. I had already forseen the long wait and cannot in any way be frustrated by the wait. Most of us are "wearing out" because we didnt forsee a long wait.

I one thing is certain, just as it is in the battle field: every soldier there knows that not all of them would get back home alive,- so is our case (although we all pray and hope to be among the 70).

At the assessment centre, I noticed that there were lots of very bright chaps there and it became clear to me that just anybody could be selected(infact the selection process would be very tight, apart from these rumours we hear about---- you know, the Nigeria factor). So, we should all have our plan Bs and Cs,  all worked out by now (or being worked out).

We know Nigeria is bad, but it would only take YOU and ME to make it better,While we wait (which might not be too long again), we should channel our efforts to more positive activities- On this thread, we have intellectuals from virtually all fields, we could discuss on investments and other opportunities that could make us not just employees but employers, it may not look useful now but in years to come, such ideas might be the cornerstone of our personal (or group) companies.

Rather than wasting time analysing statements of others, abusing others, displaying how vast our vocabularies are or crying over our TRANIEE BOXERS in the house (which the media would effectively do),let's focus,brain-strom and see how we can take the world by surprise(abeg not twin tower bombing ooooh-CIA, FBI, SSS, INTERPOL,take note).

Phew, all said, let us redirect and reorientate ourselves, NLNG would come and whether or not we make it LIFE GOES ON
,
over 17000 people have fallen by the way, most might even end up better off.

NLNG cannot be the BEGINNING niether can it be the end of LIFE for any of us- just KEEP FAITH, BE POSITIVE and KEEP THINKING(POSITIVELY) and as a friend of mine would say "YOUR 'OIL-WELL' MIGHT BE IN YOUR HAND AND YOU WOULD'NT KNOW IF YOU DONT TAP IT"

What-so-ever be the case, for me my prayer is "Lord, may I be one of the selected 70(or whatever) but in any case, let your will and not mine be done"- we never know the mind of God.

Okay people, lets lift the spirit here up to the sky. "Tomorrow would always be brighter for us"- did I hear an Amen

your mind is your greatest asset

peace.

Hmmm………how ironic ……, he probably could not sustain the steam or was he intimidated?at least you guys see  how difficult it is to lead in Nigeria(special case) or anywhere else or dont youuuuu

Opokonwa you see somethings that are better said when they are not said, not every 1kobo statement must be replied or scrutinized (which ever you prefer),

I'm a late arrival but 'I have paid my dues' inspite of my responsibilities at work and 'an extremely busy life' outside work.

You must really be very busy at work,  I have always tried to imagine how you have so much time to post on this thread ( every hour to say the least) DURING WORKING HOURS, you probably are the MD or,  eemm,   or may be in the IT department (monitoring the status of your server- to know when it is down),
guy, you sure have RESPONSIBILITIES,  OOH,   it is not easy. I wish my "responsbilities at work" were as demanding as yours grin- (so much time for anything),
hmm, well, different strokes for different folks right, Sure Its your hope that (by the grace of God) when you enter NLNG your job would be equally as "demanding" grin grin.

I STEER NO GROUP. I AM ABOUT TO LEAVE THE THREAD SO THAT I MAY ALLOW 'KIDS' AND 'LATE ARRIVALS' TO TAKE OVER THE THREAD.
, hmmm,  'kids' right , udeme my friend you are truly HUMBLE

Okay people. that would be all you now . Let us try to direct our energy to more positive things while we wait,  who knows,  the long wait might be in our favour.

dungar please, you did not tell us how many people per state they selected from the south-south and south-east states. You only told us that of OTHER states or did they fail to tell you that and why didnt you ask for that piece of information. Half truth is no truth. So please enlighten us.

Also, if your statement is to be taken as true, why did NLNG give priority to the south-east,  how many gas pipe lines pass through majority of the south east  ( don't get me wrong, I am only trying to fault dungar's statment. YOU ARE NOT BEING TRUTHFULL THATS IT ),

STOP RASING UP ETHIC SENTIMENTS HERE especially as they are unfounded!!

Those that didnt passed did well (recall they were called for the second stage) but they were still those that must have done better-and were selected.

Well all those are distractions now. WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD, WHAT IS THE NEXT STAGE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH.PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yeah kewena i also know serving corper that passed, except that is also a coincidence. Well i thank God to be counted as one of those that passed but who else asked what the next stage is because, the person i spoke to suggested a 3rd test even though it is unconfirmed. So please for subsequent callers, do well to find out what the next stage would be so that we stop speculating.
