The "Innocent" boy will be in hell. What you noted about him is what we call "Self Righteousness" which is what most "Pastors" practice.
The Bible taught us about a rich man who met Jesus and told Jesus about all his righteousness. How he gives to the widows and pays his tithes and offerings but Jesus told him to not only sell all his Property and give it to the poor but carry his CROSS and fellow him.
