Music/RadioRe: Be Wise And Get Enlightened – An Advice To Nigerian Rappers by tical(m): 1:00pm On Sep 20, 2013
Skii: Well I think the thing about the acceptance of rap music (as we know it-especially in the american/foreign context) has to do with level of education and exposure.

There's too few of us that have and show appreciation for rap music in nigeria thats why its not making it as much as other music genres in the country

What we have instead is guys that have taken the rudiments and fundamentals of rap and have applied it to the nigerian setting-where there are many under educated and unexposed folk
Da grin and Olamide as well as many others have applied this principle in a strictly nigerian sense
What MI does is that he blends the two together in some tracks, applies either in different tracks

This is not a mode9 diss...but this may be why his music may seem uninspiring, dull and generally unappreciated, simply because he doesn't apply this rule. Ruggedman was the first shift from a sole application of the foreign rap style to a blend with nigerian style

Now about mode9's legendary status, I strongly disagree. He was only fortunate enough to fill the silent yearnings of those of us grown, nursed and exposed to rap the foreign way. We silently longed for our own nigerian kind. So there he came. Because there was no alternative, we rejoice in his advent.

It wasnt until MI showed up rapping that we knew mode9 was not it, because strictly speaking, MI is way more talented than 9 is. (This does not necessarily confer legendary status on MI, even though he is close, I am almost impressed with him)

I love & agree wit every single line of your comment bro.. Tell 'em.

Music/RadioRe: Top 20 Greatest Nigerian Rappers by tical(m): 11:02pm On Sep 11, 2013
when blogs force sumthin on the masses, soon they start believing the bigotry..

I knw that the naija rap industry is dull cuz rappers are lazy & inconsistent but continuously making Mode9 your best rapper does signify growth ..

when was the last time Mode9 dropped a critical acclaimed album? huh

How many hits does Mode9 hav in his whole rap career..both huge & underground? huh

Can he hold down a whole nite concert wit his fans spitting his verses? huh

How many features in any genre (+ hiphop) has Mode9 ever nailed before?
*pls dont call 'Stylee'*

Can you, your friends or any of your relations run to mode9 as a top priority rap feature on any of your potential hits? huh

Do you hav mode9's last album @ home? huh

As long as the answers to majority of these questions is No! Then the general mention of MODENINE as your best rapper on every list is bigotry!

Modenine is an intelligent spitter (super lyricist) but he is FAR 4rm being the BEST RAPPER in Nigeria..4get all those props.
He lacks skills to be an all- round great rap MUSIC artiste like Jay Z, MI, Kendrick Lamar, Pastor Mase, Rick Ross & even Mos Def (yasin Bey)

NOTE
Putting Mode9 always @ No1 does not make one a hiphop head...if it is so, KRS 1, Canibus or Papoose wil be the best rappers in the US..these are spitters..if they r topping Best Emcees List..No problem but Best Rapper ..Hell No.

Putting mode9 as your best shows your naija rap scene is stagnated.(for those who strongly still believe Mode9 Is)

Peace

kelch: COUNT ME OUT OF THE POLITICS OF HATRED – TB Joshua
by thetbjoshuafanclub
This is an official statement from Prophet T.B. Joshua. My attention has been drawn to an online article headlined ‘Pastor T.B. Joshua Revealed As Man Behind Al-Mustapha’s Release’ written by Sahara Reporters.

This article is from the enemy. They should not drag me into the issue of politics. If I was ever to go to Aso Rock, I would go publicly. I have already told you how I met Al-Mustapha. Don’t put words in my mouth. I explained that I got to know him many years ago when a petition was addressed to General Bamaiyi who was the then Chairman of the NDLEA. I spent nine days with them for investigation and they found the whole thing to be a fabrication.

From there, I was taken to see the president where I met Mustapha. I was able to reveal to them who I am by telling them what was to come as a prophet. I told him that he would spend several years in prison and would be finally released which no one else had ever told him. That is why you saw him coming here as his first port of call. Where there is no vision, people perish.

It is therefore very malicious for Sahara Reporters to attach any political meanings to Al-Mustapha’s visit. At no time did I tell President Jonathan that his political fortune rested with setting Al-Mustapha free, neither did I ever suggest that Chief James Ibori, former Delta State Governor be brought back to Nigeria to assist the president in the 2015 presidential election.

Count me out of the politics of hatred.

andyanders: Thank you for your contribution here. Prophet T.B. Joshua is a symbol of LOVE as Christ is a symbol of LOVE, and Christ is in him and he is in Christ hence his good works here on earth. Christ feed people when they were hungry and people marveled then because of five pieces of fish HE used in feeding thousands of people. He showed them love by feeding them. If the Jews criticized Jesus during His time, why wouldn't ignorant Nigerians criticize Prophet T.B. Joshua.

He remains the best EVER gift God has given this part of the world than OIL which has destroyed Nigeria with the level of corruption in this country.

Upon these criticism, Prophet T. B. Joshua NEVER fight back to those calling him negative names, rather he keep praying for multitude of people like those critics and at a later time, we have witnessed many of these categories of individuals coming back to confess and asked to be prayed for.

Christianity EtcProphet T.B. Joshua; A Blessing To Our Generation by tical(op): 12:25am On Jun 17, 2013
Renowned Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua
turns 50 on Wednesday June 12th
2013. In his characteristically
unconventional style, he has called for
the focus of the celebration to be
redirected towards care for the less
privileged and job creation for
unemployed graduates.
Speaking on his popular broadcast
platform Emmanuel TV, Joshua called
on well-wishers who desired to give in
cash or kind towards the golden
occasion to channel such resources
into charitable endeavours.
“The best way to celebrate this
birthday is to be on your knees and
thank God for the life of T.B. Joshua.
Pray for the Church of God for a strong
bond of love...
"Pray for your nation and the whole
world and rededicate yourself to the
acts of giving. Be a father to the
fatherless and a benefactor to the
needy. Raise the standard of living
through the little you are going to
invest,” Joshua exhorted congregants.
“Those things you have for T.B. Joshua,
even what you will spend on a
greeting card, put it together and
spend it on this commission.”
The noted philanthropist challenged
viewers to examine the listed names
on their phones, asking how many
people were friends with the under-
privileged or bedridden. “You must
have many orphans and those on the
sick bed as friends. Give them a call. Be
a prayer partner with them and let
them know there is hope. Become part
of their family,” he passionately
counselled.
He stated his priority project was
facilitating the creation of jobs for
frustrated graduates, calling on all in a
position to support job-seekers to
come forward. “We must get jobs for
people who are jobless. This is the
number one project for my 50th
birthday. I am going to pursue it.
Graduates are everywhere without a
job. This birthday, it will be an
assignment for me.”
He bemoaned the state of youth
worldwide, stating a bleak future lay
ahead if urgent action was not taken
by those in a position to help. “If you
listen to the graduates of today, you
will be afraid of the future. If
something is not done quickly, you will
not be able to sleep and close your
eyes in the future. Tomorrow will be
very tough; we have to come together
and do something now.”
Last week, the project began in
earnest with Joshua facilitating the
employment of 24 graduates in jobs,
22 of whom were not members of The
SCOAN. He called on churches
worldwide to join in the call for job
creation with no strings attached. “If
every church and organization
embarks on telling people in the
position to get graduates jobs instead
of campaigning for money and
prosperity, it will change the
situation,” he stated.
He further added that these actions
should not be determined by time or
season. “When you start, don’t stop –
let it be part of you forever. Your
rewards in life are determined by how
many people you have helped and the
problems you have solved. This is the
way the Lord wants us to celebrate this
birthday at 50.”
On a personal note, Joshua said the
occasion was a sober moment for
appreciation of God’s goodness in his
life and added determination for
greater service to Him and humanity.
“To whom much is given, much is
expected. The Lord has given me so
much in all areas of my life which I
cannot reciprocate. What an
undeserved blessing! At 50, I should be
more grateful to God and show more
commitment to His service,” the
Nigerian pastor stated. Stressing that
the source of his success lay in the
closeness of his relationship with God,
Joshua revealed, “If I could give you
one clue to my success, I would say I
took care of the depth of my
relationship with God and He took care
of the breadth of my success. Jesus will
do the same for you!”
Born on June 12th 1963 in Ondo State,
Nigeria, T.B. Joshua’s rise from a
poverty-stricken home to an
internationally renowned minister of
God is nothing short of remarkable.
With his birth shrouded in mystery,
legend has it that Joshua was in his
mother’s womb for 15 months. It is also
claimed he narrowly avoided death
seven days after his birth after a quarry
explosion near his house sent rocks
through its roof, missing him by inches.
From dropping out of secondary school
in his first year to working in a poultry
farm carrying chicken waste; from
teaching little children while
attending evening classes to washing
people’s legs on the muddy streets of
Lagos; from a forty day fast to
receiving a divine call and starting a
ministry with a mere eight members –
the life of T.B. Joshua is indeed a
journey of amazing grace. Today,
countless thousands journey weekly to
his abode in the heart of Ikotun-Egbe,
Lagos to seek spiritual solace with
millions more tuning in to watch what
is reputed to be Africa’s most popular
station, Emmanuel TV.http:///forum/topics/t-b-joshua-opens-up-about-the-depth-of-his-success-secret

I now understand why some poor nigerians dont deserve HELP from the rich ones.

Because of their illogical ways of reasoning, always reading negative meaning to things.
'As a Man thinketh in his heart so is He'

Some of you here dont deserve help that is why even your rich uncles avoid u like a plaque.
I weep for some comment I see here.

TB Joshua called to all organisation/Company executives, Top public officers etc to give him vacancies as a BIRThDAY gift to help youthS both in Nigeria and other countries (irrespective of religion, church, race etc) to help fight unemployment rate.

He didnt give the job to his brothers, church members, friends, nieces, nephews like you pple of the world do. Yet, you stil condemn his kind gesture? Gosh! What a generation

Well, Major Prophet TB Joshua is a better representation of Image of Jesus Christ and his teaching than all the pastors u revere PUT TOGETHER as far as planet Earth is concerned! believe it or not.

Mind you...I am a winner CHURCH WORKER undecided
