PoliticsGov Wike Ask All Traditional Rulers To Ensure Closure Of Market, Hotel Etc by Tife20(op): 7:08pm On May 06, 2020
Danger looms ahead in Rivers State as traditional rulers and local council chairmen have received orders from Gov Nyesom Wike to enforce the total lockdown which includes closure of hotels, shops, markets, and loading bays.

The governor said during a broadcast on Monday that any hotel or taxi found in operation should be impounded and auctioned. The auctioning order has sent fears down the spines of the public as the order is to be enforced by task forces populated by young men that are dreaded in the state.

To give teeth to the order, the governor summoned all traditional rulers and local council chairmen in the state to the seat of power on Tuesday after which he directed them to act as enforcers of the new order.

They have been ordered to enforce the closure of markets, hotels and beer parlours across the State.

Addressing them, Gov Wike said: “Set up your own task force in your respective domains and implement the closure of markets, hotels and beer parlours.

“This Task Force is strictly for COVID-19. The State Government will support all traditional rulers to carry out these responsibilities”. He appealed to the traditional rulers to work with his administration to check the transmission of coronavirus.

The governor also called on local council bosses to ensure that they supported the monarchs to deliver on the directive.

On the almajiris, the governor said: “When they started relocating the Almajiris in the north, the FG said nothing. Immediately they heard that we have relocated some almajiris, they came up with the declaration that it is against the inter-state movement. Why this double standard?”

Governor Wike noted that his administration has continued to work on the state’s borders to ensure that they remained closed. He charged local council chairmen to take more stringent measures to stop the influx of persons.

The Governor warned that from Thursday any shop that opens in Obio/Akpor or Port Harcourt Local Government Area, the building would be demolished.

On the closure of markets, Governor Wike said that the State Food Purchasing Committee headed by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government would purchase all the foodstuffs and distribute them to the people.

“We will buy off all the foods in the markets and distribute to our people. All you need is to liaise with the office of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government and we will buy and distribute. No Market should be open anywhere in the state,” he said.

Commenting on the compulsory use of face masks, Gov Wike said that he will use politicians and Traditional Rulers as examples.

“I want to use politicians and traditional rulers as examples if they fail to wear face masks in their cars. If you are not wearing face masks in your cars, you will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

Gov Wike advised Rivers people not to wait for the support of FG al Government, but concentrate on the strategies to reduce the spread of the virus.

He said that anywhere a market continues to operate in the state, the traditional ruler will lose his recognition. “Go home and tell your people about this”.

“As the hotels remain closed, those coming in will have nowhere to stay. When we are safe, we can enjoy what we can. I am not doing this because I hate anyone, but it is for the protection of our people.

“No human being will see death and embrace it. We cannot kill ourselves. The only solution is ensure Social Distancing and proper hygiene”.

Responding, chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, the king, Douglas Dandeson Jaja, thanked the Rivers State governor for involving the traditional rulers in the fight against coronavirus.

He assured the Rivers State Governor that the monarchs would live up to his expectations by carrying out the State Government’s directive.

King Jaja thanked Governor Wike for his palliatives to all the 23 local council areas of the State..

Foreign AffairsUS Did Not Have Any Evidence That Covid 19 Came From Us- China by Tife20(op): 12:27pm On May 06, 2020
China on Wednesday hit back at US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over his claims that the coronavirus originated in a lab in Wuhan, saying he “doesn’t have any” evidence.

Pompeo said on Sunday that there was “enormous evidence” to show that the new coronavirus originated in a lab in China, further fuelling tensions with Beijing over its handling of the outbreak.

“I think this matter should be handed to scientists and medical professionals, and not politicians, who lie for their own domestic political ends,” said foreign ministry spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, at a regular press briefing.

“Mr Pompeo repeatedly spoke up but he cannot present any evidence. How can he? Because he doesn’t have any,” she said.

Pompeo said Sunday in an interview that there was “enormous evidence” that the new coronavirus came out of a Wuhan lab.

Most scientists believe the new virus, which emerged in China late last year, jumped from animals to humans, possibly from a market in Wuhan selling exotic animals for meat.

The World Health Organisation said the US claims were “speculative”.

PoliticsAll Governor I Call Pick My Call Or Call Me Back Except Seyi Makinde by Tife20(op): 11:12am On May 03, 2020
Renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Chief Niyi Akintola today stated that governors of South West that he calls, either answer him or calls back expect his own state governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde.

Chief Niyi Akintola stated this today while speaking on a radio programme tagged 'Political Circuit' which was aired live in a private radio station in Ibadan.
The senior lawyer turned politician was one of those who contested for the party ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC)) in Oyo state during the last electioneering. He was the last to step down to the eventual candidate of the party, Chief Adebayo Adelabu who was a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor.
Chief Akintola stated that he most times he calls the present governor of Oyo state, the governor would not pick his call. He says that he does not call the governor for favours or government contracts but to call to advise him.

The foremost lawyer stated that whenever he calls other South West governor, they either pick up immediately or call him back. He mentioned present governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state as governors that pick up or calls him back.
On the issue of COVID 19 in Oyo State, Akintola stated that Oyo State governor is practicing populist agenda stating that a governor should be able to take tough decisions instead of always trying to please the people. He therefore berated the governor of Oyo state stating that Oyo state is not practising social distancing.
He asked that government should prepare for post Covid-19 suggesting that since revenue is dropping government should reduce political aides. He asked that government should not overburden the populace by increasing tax.
He also advised that the electorates should the worst to lead the best.

EducationWays to Pass OAU 2020 Postutme Exam by Tife20(op): 8:19pm On May 02, 2020
My Advice to those who are about to sit for o.a.u post-utme examination.
I partially welcome you to o.a.u(obafemi awolowo university, only Africa university, oba agba university).
Picking o.a.u as your first choice is a good decision.
But passing the post utme examination is the best action.
The truth is that not all will be admitted, but most will be admitted.
I pray that God's favour & grace will Fall on you.
Here are the tips to pass o.a.u post-utme examination.

(1)God:The first thing you need to do is to depend on God for the success of the examination and the admission.
In o.a.u not all examination leads to admission, but all admission is a product of examination+.....anything else.
Forget all you have read.
Forget about the level of your preparation.
Forget the connection you have.
O.a.u is god on his own.
So anything can happen.
Only God can deliver someone from a god.
So just put your trust in God for the success of the examination.

(2)Confident: Yes,this is very important.
Confidence is one of the thing you need to pass.
Your confidence will make the fear of o.a.u run away, but over-confidence will make you have over-failure.
So be confidence in one sense and don't be over-confidence in another sense.
Just believe in yourself and trust God.

(3)FEAR: false evidence appearing real.
Fear is one of the reason why students fail exams in o.a.u. it is not only because of lack of preparation.
Don't let the fear of the name o.a.u to pull you down. In as much you have prepared well for the exam, I see no reason to fear.
Remember you are a slave to what you fear.
Once you fear o.a.u post-utme examination, you are a slave to it.
Fear leads to failure.
Just believed you will pass it and let the level of your confidence be at minimal.

CrimeI Killed Him Because He Always Preach To Me About Jesus by Tife20(op): 7:39am On May 02, 2020
Mustapha Mohammed aka Mairutuwa, the leader of the kidnap gang that murdered Catholic seminarian, Michael Nnadi, of the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna state in January 2020, has given a reason why he killed late Nnadi depsite collecting ransom from the seminary school.

Recall that on January 9, some armed men stormed the Catholic seminary and kidnapped four seminarians, murdered one of them and released the remaining three on January 31 after they received a ransom from the seminary. The remains of the fourth seminarian, 18-year-old Micheal Nnadi, was found in a bush on February 2nd. He was buried on February 11th.

In a chat with The Sun, Mustapha said from the day Nnadi was abducted, he kept preaching the gospel of Jesus to him and told him to his face to change his evil ways or perish. He said late Nnadi did not allow him to have peace as he continued preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to him even when he knew they were not of the same faith. He said he did not like the confidence displayed by Nnadi and so he decided to kill him.

Mustapha who is currently in police custody with two other members of his gang, said they decided to invade the school because they knew it was a seminary and that they would make good money. According to him, they got information about the seminary from a gang member who is a commercial motorcycle operator and lives very close to the school. He said it took his colleague about five days to conduct proper surveillance on the school before they embarked on the operation.

He also told of how they had to use the mobile telephone number of the deceased Nnadi, to put a call across to the school authorities to demand a N100 million ransom which was later reduced to N10 million paid by the school authorities for the release of the three seminarians.

Mustapha further revealed that they had to force the school authorities to purchase recharge cards of the various mobile telecommunications network totalling N30,000 and brought to the spot where they had agreed to collect the ransom.

Christianity EtcIf You Enter Any Church And Notice Any Of These Things Please Run For Your Life by Tife20(op): 12:58pm On Apr 30, 2020
We live in a time where many people are being deceived by many in the name of religion. Below are five ways to identify a fake Pastor in Nigeria.

Miracle! Miracle!! Miracle!!!

Humans behind generally especially Nigerians are always wisked away by miracles or should I even call Magic in the form of miracle sef? If you're able to perform a miracle or perform signs and wonders in Nigeria, you're on your way not just to Stardom but to wealth. I continue saying "After politics, the second latest way to get rich in Nigeria is Religion".

Fine enough, most of these so-called miracles are even staged managed, some pastors even go extra-length of involving themselves in evil practices that will help draw people to their Churches by the miracles they perform knowing full well that Nigerians love miracles. it is not surprising to a large crowd in such Churches that emphasizes more on miracles.

They Preach Prosperity, things You Love to Hear

A real man of God would not just Preach on the sweetest part of the Bible, and the promises of God, he should also tell you how Dangerous and Jealous God can be when sin is involved in a believed life.

Some 21 people have died and 13 others have been seriously injured in the Mexican state of Jalisco after ingesting contaminated liquor, regional authorities said on Wednesday.

In total, 56 people have been affected in two municipalities in the western state since Saturday, state health official Huge Esparza said during a press conference, including the 21 who have died and 29 who have become ill.

The 13 who became seriously ill were transported via helicopter to hospitals in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, while the rest were discharged, Esparza said.

On Saturday, patients began presenting with “symptoms of blurred vision and/or vision loss, intense abdominal pain, difficulty breathing and convulsions,” he said.

They had ingested a form of cane alcohol purer than that made for drinking that was manufactured in neighboring Michoacan state.

Some 700 liters of the liquor were seized over the following days.

PoliticsCovid 19= Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu Ninth Update On Coronavirus by Tife20(op): 4:38am On Apr 30, 2020
Ninth Update on Coronavirus by the Lagos State Incident Commander, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Dear Lagosians,
1. It has become imperative for me to address you again today, following the culmination of the second phase of the Lockdown on Lagos, Ogun and the FCT, and the Nationwide Address by President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday.

2. It is now my duty to share a broader framework for the implementation of the President’s directives here in Lagos State.

3. But before I do that, let me reiterate some of these directives, as outlined by the President in his address:

a. There will be an overnight curfew from 8pm to 6am, except for essential services. This means that from the hours of 8pm to 6am we expect all Lagosians to stay in their homes.

b. Furthermore, there is a ban on interstate travel at this time. This means that no persons will be allowed in or out of Lagos until further notice, except for those delivering essential goods and services. And by this, we mean food items, petroleum products, newspapers, and essential manufactured goods.

c. According to the President, “Partial and controlled interstate movement of goods and services will be allowed for the movement of goods and services from producers to consumers.”

4. Lagos State will be very strict in the implementation of this directive. As a first step, I am directing that vehicles carrying food and agricultural produce into Lagos from any part of the country cannot have more than 7 passengers on board. The same applies when these vehicles are leaving the state.

5. We are compelled to issue this directive because we have in recent weeks seen attempts to conceal people in trucks and other vehicles carrying essential items, with the aim of sneaking them into or out of the State.

MEDICAL UPDATE

6. Dear Lagosians, before I fully outline the guidelines for the easing of the Lockdown in Lagos State, let me officially update you on the medical situation. Our
State continues to be the epicentre of #COVID19 in Nigeria. The total number of confirmed cases in our State as at midnight April 28, 2020 is 844.

PoliticsYou Can't Impeach My Deputy - Akeredolu Rejects Plot By APC Chieftains by Tife20(op): 2:55pm On Apr 24, 2020
Governor Akeredolu has rejected plot to impeach his deputy, Agboola Ajayi

- The governor was said to have told the APC chieftains in the state to leave his deputy alone

- The report has it that there was a rivalry between Akeredolu and Ajayi over 2020 governorship election in the state

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo state governor, has refused suggestions from political allies that he should commence impeachment processes against his deputy, Agboola Ajayi.

The Nation reports that the relationship between Akeredolu and the deputy has broken down over what an aide to the governor described “as a breakdown of excessive trust.”

Legit.ng gathered that some politicians approached the governor to either ask Agboola to resign or face impeachment but the governor declined and asked the man to be left alone.

The newspaper noted that Akeredolu's deputy has not been seen recently in many public functions.

According to the report, sources close to the office of the deputy governor, however, said the governor would fail in any impeachment plot because the deputy picked the majority of the House of Assembly members.

Some political allies of the deputy governor said he was more grounded in grassroots politics than the governor.

You can't impeach my deputy - Akeredolu rejects plot by APC chieftains
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state
They said the deputy has been loyal to Akeredolu but politicians who wanted political favours painted lies to the governor through the First Lady.

The newspaper also said that an aide to the deputy governor, who pleaded anonymity, said the relationship was cordial until Governor Akeredolu started having fears that his deputy would contest against him at the primaries.

But a top government official said the deputy betrayed the trust Akeredolu has in him by attempting to put political structures in place ahead of this year’s governorship election.

The top official said Akeredolu gave free hands for his deputy to nominate political appointees from Ondo South and allowed him to make nominations during the party primaries ahead of 2019 general elections.

COVID-19: Reps’ salary donation a collective decision —Minority caucus spokesman
POLITICS
By JACOB SEGUN OLATUNJI
On Apr 24, 2020
The spokesman for the Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives, Honourable Francis Agbo, in this interview by JACOB SEGUN OLATUNJI, revisits the issue of two-month salary donation of the House members for the fight against COVID-19 in the country and other matters.

WHAT is your take on the allegation that the Speaker, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, did not consult widely before he announced members’ donation to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund?

My take is that the Speaker and indeed the leadership of the House acted in good faith and on behalf of all members after due consultations with them. The decision of the leadership received our blessings across party lines. Why do we have a leadership in place? The thrust of leadership in a normal situation is to embark on consultations with a greater percentage of the people before a decision is reached which, in this case, was done before the announcement. I was personally consulted and many of our colleagues also gave their nod too. But in an emergency or war situation, like the COVID-19 has put the world, wide consultations before decisions are made may not be possible. This may have been the reason a few lawmakers may tell you they were not in the know. But once you put in place a leadership, a solid and a popularly elected one as represented by Rt. Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, you technically surrender your ‘sovereignty’ to it. And it is expected that leadership takes decisions on behalf of us, in alignment with national interest. If the House were to be in session at the period the decision was taken, all members or almost all members in session, who wished, would have had the benefit of making inputs into the decision. But at that time, the House had adjourned and remains so and many of us had travelled to our constituencies.

As far as the decision on COVID-19 is concerned, it was done in the best interest of the House, the National Assembly and the Nigerian people we represent. Having put together a National Assembly leadership, what do you expect from them? They are to take decisions on our behalf; that is what leadership is all about. Did you expect the leadership to start calling every member of the House individually before that pronouncement was made? It is not possible, especially with the urgency of the matter! In any case, we have a House WhatsApp group, which provides a veritable platform for members to ventilate their opinions. The Majority Caucus leadership met; the leadership of the minority parties met after which they came together under the leadership of our able and competent Speaker, Honourable Gbajabiamila and his deputy, Honourable Idris Wasi. They took the decision for us to forfeit and channel our two-month salaries into the fight against COVID 19 Trust Fund. Every well-meaning Nigerian is making contributions and, as the peoples’ parliamentarians, we shouldn’t lag behind.

As I speak to you now, I am in my constituency donating groceries, food items, alcohol- based hand sanitizers, soaps, detergents and medical kits to my people after sensitising them on the dangers of COVID 19. These are the responsibilities of every lawmaker at this phase that we are. This country, like every nation of the world, is fighting a bio-war or, at best, is in a state of emergency and, at the time that decision was communicated to the Nigerian people, we had already adjourned. Having adjourned, there is no way we would have discussed it at an executive session. So the Speaker, in his usual way of touching base with the Nigerian people, as well as in his usual way of crying when Nigerians are crying and in his usual way of smiling when Nigerians are smiling, swiftly announced the decision of leadership of the House, which represents a token of our support towards the fight against COVID 19. So, the House leadership under Honourable Gbajabiamila acted wisely and patriotically too. So, it was not a one-man show, as speculated in some quarters.

With the statement credited to Honourable Mark Gbillah that Honourable Gbajabiamila is leading a divided House, can we conclude that all is not well?

So are you trying to say that people who believe in God and Jesus Christ but have done terrible things will go to heaven?

People who have cheated others of their rights
People who have killed
etc

Op I'm not understanding your post.
Get clear

You may know and claimed that you know Jesus if you don't obey what he commanded you to do, there is no place for that person in heaven

Jesus said it only those that do his will he only know...

Therefore, believing in Jesus just take away our sin and make us have opportunity to make heaven only if will do his will

And moreover

If you claim you know and the truth is not in you, if someone claimed he believe in him but not obey him.. That means that person is not believing but he is full of hypocrisy

Foreign AffairsCoronavirus In Africa: 'no Time For Half Measures In Helping The Economy' by Tife20(op): 8:20am On Apr 16, 2020
Not only could coronavirus "cause thousands of deaths" in Africa, but it has the potential to "unleash economic and social devastation", according to the head of the World Health Organization for the continent, Matshido Moeti.
Her words are a reminder that the pandemic is not only a health emergency.
A year ago, the World Bank's Africa Pulse report was forecasting sub-Saharan economies to grow in 2019 and 2020 by around 2.8%.
A fragile rate, disguising some more promising news, but now the bank forecasts that the region will fall into its first recession in 25 years, with the overall economy shrinking by somewhere between 2.1% and 5.1%, because of the impact of the spread of Covid-19.
The World Bank says the effects of Covid-19 on the continent can essentially be broken down into three areas:
Trade disruption and falling commodity exports
Reductions in the amount of investment and other money coming from abroad
The day-to-day economic problems caused by lockdowns and other restrictions.
Commodity prices have weakened considerably.
The price of oil, although it has recovered slightly, is far below what it needs to be to help Nigeria's government to budget properly, or to pull Angola out of recession.
A year ago the price of copper was just under $3 (£2.40) a pound. Now it is hovering around the $2.20 mark.
Copper prices have been on a downward slope for nearly a decade. But in the last month, coronavirus has pushed them off a cliff. That is extremely bad news for exporters such as Zambia.
Until very recently, palladium and platinum were the darlings of the mining industries in South Africa and Zimbabwe, because of their use in catalytic converters in vehicles. But when coronavirus fears closed car plants across the world, the prices of the metals halved in a matter of days.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) has slowed to a trickle.
In 2018, according to the UN's trade and development body, Unctad, FDI into the continent was on the rise and looking good. But now, Unctad says that as a result of coronavirus, investment could fall by as much as 15%.
