Janosky: So it is now a take it or leave it argument. Lol. Since 1919 you have received ;Dmore understanding? Incase you don't understand the question, the question is proof, evidence that you were chosen in 1919. It is not a matter of what "you believe" since you said "we believe". Provide evidence ooo. I know churches who claim that since 1700s they have been getting a better understanding of the Bible. Does that make them the truth? Provide evidence oo. Biblical and emperical to show us that you were chosen in 1919. Thank you |

; Maximus69: There you have it my people. This is his response. That we should keep waiting. Lol. Not one of my questions were answered. For everyone reading this, please when jw's come to your home, please show them love, don't treat them badly. They are your fellow humans. Treating them badly feeds their persecution complex. When they come, instead of arguing anything with them, tell them to provide evidence that they were chosen in 1919. Allow them to provide that evidence, like I have given the jehovah's witnesses the opportunity to do for nearly 48 hours now, yet not one single evidence. When they talk to you listen to them and even go to their website if they direct you, but also visit www.jwfacts.com to fact check their doctrines and their policies and to hear the other side of the arguments against their doctrines and policies. All the facts in the www.jwfacts.com website is gotten from the jehovah's witnesses books and publications. So Mr Maximus69, it's such a pity you couldn't defend your faith by providing this evidence. Thank you for doing it in the full glare of Nairaland. BTW jwfacts.com is a good place for you too to do research about your group, that is if you become open minded. Have a nice day my brother Thank you |

Janosky:This is just childish. I told you I don't follow men, yet you are find straws to grasp so that you can "win arguments". Really how petty can you be? For real man. If you are not going to answer my questions at least have the maturity to say so. You are the one that is shouting that your organization is the only truth, that whoever is not associated with it will die at armageddon. (I have provided evidence of this from your publications) So the Onus lies on you to provide the evidence for us to see that you were really chosen by God in 1919 out of the numerous other religions. Provide The Biblical and emperical evidence. We are waiting for your evidence. |

Maximus69: Sorry that I am laughing o. It's just that you have not answered any of the questions I asked. Instead you are telling me to worship my own God while you worship your own. Lol. Even the scripture you quoted falsely proverbs 4, that I pointed out, you went silent on it. I will say it again I want everyone reading this message to read proverbs 4:10 - 19 and tell us, is that place talking about light of doctrines getting brighter or is it contrasting the way of the righteous vs the way of the wicked and the eventual outcomes. You said we will all die if we don't join your organization, you tried to deny that that is your belief, I provided proof to keep you quiet and you quiet you were. Now, if it is true that we who are not part of your organization will be destroyed, then the responsibility lies on you to provide evidence that you were chosen by God in the first place in 1919 as you claim. Provide evidence that's all we ask. You keep running from the question. All I have seen you do on this forum from reading your comments is what I call Box ticking exercise. Where you tell people we preach, we show love, we avoid politics etc, therefore you are the true religion. That is a classic box ticking exercise. The Mormon Church has 12 pillars that make them say they are the only true church too because only them fulfill those things. They claim they have an unbroken chain of priesthood authority that goes back to Bible times, they have modern temples etc. My point is every church that claims to have the truth engages in this same box ticking exercise. Which is simply : because only us do this and this (criteria picked by them out of the Bible) then it must be true. So enough of the box ticking exercise sir. We need evidence. What is the evidence you were chosen in 1919? Remember this is an opportunity for you to preach to me. As hard as it may be for you to believe I am open minded. Show me evidence so that I can consider it. You have not shown a single one thus far. All you do is write long articles without addressing my questions. I am waiting for evidence o and if possible answers to my other 2 questions. Thank you. |

Janosky: Is that the best you can do? So you can't provide evidence that your religion was chosen in 1919. I have been asking for more than 24 hours now. Yet, not one scriptural proof. By the way, I follow christ not men like you do by following your governing body. See what your governing body said below : "All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not." - Watchtower 13 11/15 pp. 16-20 I have enough receipts sir. I can bring more receipts if you want that shows your leaders demanding obedience and loyalty that should only be given to God. Ehe, BTW 1 Cor 3:4 is my motto. I do not belong to Paul, neither do I belong to Apollos. I belong to Christ the head of the Church. I don't follow any gods of men like you call them. My leader is one, the christ. You can't say the same about yourself. Your leaders are in America wearing suits and wearing strange rings on their right fingers. While you are on it, we are still waiting for answers to my questions. In case you have forgotten, here they are 1) provide evidence for us all to see your religion was chosen in 1919 2) provide evidence in the Bible that shows that children, infact babies as young as 7 years old were baptised during the Christian Era. 3) show me one place in the Bible that says that doctrines which were once taught as "truth" will change to new truth or new light as you call it. |
Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by Timalt: 11:04pm On May 29, 2020 |
Maximus69: You still have not answered my question as to providing evidence that your religious leaders were chosen in 1919. You said you don't believe in infant or child baptism, yet you turn around and baptize 7 year olds. Infact your organization has baptized a 6 year old. It's in one of your yearbooks. That right there is hypocrisy my friend. Jesus was baptized at 30. How can a 7 year old be baptized into an organization he barely knows? And if tomorrow he decides he no longer wants to be a part of it, he's excommunicated and shunned eternally. The way you go around quoting scriptures out of context is amazing my friend. You quoted Proverbs 4: 18 to prove that doctrines will be changing as light. Please I want you to read Proverbs 4: 10 - 19 to see what the context is saying. That verse of the Bible is not in any way talking about doctrinal changes, but it is contrasting the path of the wicked vs that of the righteous and the outcomes of both paths. I challenge you to read the context to see what the Bible really is talking about. There is not a single verse in the Bible that suggests that "truth" will be changing from one thing to a totally different thing. Worse yet, there is nothing in the Bible that teaches that "truth" will flip-flop from front to back like your doctrines have done and keep doing. Please answer my questions 1) provide evidence for us all to see your religion was chosen in 1919 2) provide evidence in the Bible that shows that children, infact babies as young as 7 years old were baptised during the Christian Era. 3) show me one place in the Bible that says that doctrines which were once taught as "truth" will change to new truth or new light as you call it. I anticipate your response sir. Thank you. |

achorladey:Wow! They have removed the spirit directed from the question? Time will tell what they have up their sleeves. We are watching. Exactly about the baptism. One yearbook experience talks of a 6 year old baptized child. 7 years is even more frequent these days. Just imagine a 7 - 10 year old child signing a contract that he or she can never leave. A child that cannot even drive, vote, or even marry under the law is making a life altering decision of entering a contract with an organization he knows nothing about just because he has finished studying the yellow book. The "Bible teach book" and the other book "remain in something love". It's crazy. In this day and age, no one should go into any religion at all without doing extensive independent background research. Not to talk of a religion that Is a high control group that many would call a cult. For anyone wanting to know about the jehovah's witnesses, after you goto their own jehovah's witnesses website, compare it with www.jwfacts.com After all you would not buy something online without reading the reviews and feedbacks. Do the same. Do a fair, balanced research of this group and hear both sides and then make your decision. |
Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by Timalt: 11:02am On May 29, 2020 |
achorladey: You know them well my brother. They are baptized to an organization and not to christ. Even their second baptism question shows that. The question goes like this : Do you recognize that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah's witnesses in association with Jehovah's spirit directed organization? And the person is supposed to answer yes! Abeg where in the Bible did the disciples baptize people in association to any organization? I ask any jw to show me one place in the Bible. |
Religion / Re: I'm Beginning To Reason With Jehovah Witness On Their Stand Concerning Trinity by Timalt: 10:51am On May 29, 2020 |
Rozz:You are welcome my dear. Please if you want to talk more about them privately, send me a PM, I'll be glad to reply you with any more questions about them. See what even their former Hospital Liason Committee Chairmen (those responsible for monitoring jehovah's witnesses in the hospital to make sure they don't take blood) have to say about the organization and their unbiblical stand on blood. Here: www.ajwrb.org I would never tell anyone to join or not to join any religion, my own is that you should hear both sides of evidence before you enter what you don't know. Have yourself a wonderful day. 1 Like |

achorladey: You know the funniest thing, the jw's replying you here don't even believe they are children of God. That's how crazy their belief is. The believe that only the 144,000 are children of God or sons of God. They don't believe they are christ brothers as shown in Matthew 25. They believe only the 144,000 are christ brothers. And for them essentially the foremost part of the 144,000 are their 7 white men and 1 black man in America. For every other jw who claims to be a member of 144,000, their choosing by God is under scrutiny as they are taught those people may have mental problems. Back to my point, these guys here believe they are Friends of God not children of God. That is to show you how messed up doctrines are. Where in the new testament are Christians called God's friends for God's sake? The only person called God's friend was Abraham. And Abraham lived before the Christian Era. He was referenced in James 23 as God's friend. I ask any jw here to show us from the Bible where some Christians are God's friends? I asked them to prove their 1919 doctrine here, not a single response. For any body reading this who is not a jw, I would not tell you whether to join them or not, all I would say is you owe it to yourself to research independently about them before you join. www.jwfacts.com www.jw.support www.ajwrb.org www.jwsurvey.org |
Religion / Re: I'm Beginning To Reason With Jehovah Witness On Their Stand Concerning Trinity by Timalt: 10:19am On May 29, 2020 |
Rozz:My dear, I would say you did well. Questioning what you believe is the first step towards intellectual integrity. For you to question what you believe shows that you are sincere and not afraid to be proved wrong. The Trinity doctrine is one that after personal research, I do not believe it. Because I can't find sufficient evidence to support that claim. Infact history shows that it was in the 2nd/3rd century that the teaching was introduced to replace the teaching of modalism. Now let this be very Clear. Jehovah’s Witnesses are not the only Unitarians. There are some other groups that do not believe in Trinity. Google is your friend. Infact the concept of unitarianism is as old as time because many who believed in unitarianism were persecuted in the Roman empire. The teaching of unitarianism was resurrected sometimes in the 16th century and since then it has gained some popularity again. Now, let it be clear to you that if you were a Jehovah's witness, you can't question the doctrines. If you have questions and they give you answers that are unsatisfactory, "you are told to wait on Jehovah". And Jehovah for them is essentially 8 men in America that tell them what to believe. They revere these men and they call them their Governing body. Now if you dare disagree after they tell you to wait on Jehovah, you would be excommunicated, ostracized, shunned for life and labeled an Apostate. Which in the Jehovah witness world is worse than death itself. Careful about this group. I mean it. I agree with some of their teachings just like I agree with some teachings of some other churches. Before you become their member, please research about them carefully. Research their founder, their history, their doctrines. For example they teach that unless you are a member, God will kill you at armageddon. It does not matter if you are a good Christian or not. They teach that only those in their organization will survive their so called armageddon. They have a very false doctrine on blood transfusion. They say the Bible condemns blood transfusion, whereas all the Bible talks about is eating blood. There was no transfusion in the first century. Yet they hypocritically accept blood fractions that is gotten from blood itself. They baptize children as young as 7 years, and if the child ever decides to leave their church, they are shunned by their family and friends for life. In fact they become dead to their families. Once you baptize and enter that religion, there's no honorable way of ever leaving. Just know that. They have made many false prophecies 1874, 1878, 1914, 1920, 1925, 1942, 1975, they also predicted the end of the 20th century. All these dates are dates the end was supposed to come. They discourage University education. They say birthdays are pagan, but they wear wedding rings and cut wedding cakes which are also pagan. They have have an issue with child abuse in their midst. And they have something they call the two witness rule. Where if a child is abused, unless another witness corroborates the story or the accused confesses, they will say the leave the matter in God's hand. Their religious leaders do not report child sexual abuse which is a crime under the law to the authorities. Research all I have said. They believe in a strange doctrine that you are not in the new covenant. That only 144,000 are in the new covenant. And they believe that the remaining ones of the 144,000 are all Jehovahs witnesses. Every other person out there is not part of that their exclusive club. They teach that Jesus is not your mediator. That Jesus is the mediator of only the 144,000. And only by association with the 144,000 of which the foremost are the 8 men in America, only through them can you get to God. They teach a false doctrine started by William Miller who was an Adventist in the 1800s that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914. They believe Jesus is "present" but that he is invisible to others. And only them who are discerning know of his coming and presence. William Miller who started the nonsense predicted 1874, and when it failed, he dropped it. It was many splinter groups that modified the nonsense. Infact it was another Adventist not a Jehovah's witness or Bible student as they were then called, the man was Named Nelson Barbour. He was the one that came up with the ridiculous acrobatics of doctrine of 1914. Even he left the nonsense. They say Jesus returned invisibly in October 1914 and that is when the last days started. They point to world War 1 as proof. But that is lie from the pit of hell because world War 1 started on July 28, 1914. So evidently that their doctrine is false. They also falsely claim Jerusalem was destroyed by babylon in 607bce. When all Cuneiform tablets and overwhelming evidence proves it to be 586/586bce. Please Google it. They teach another false doctrine that the great crowd in revelation will be on earth when Revelation 19:1 says they are in heaven. They believe that salvation is gotten by works not grace. Even though they claim to believe in undeserved kindness, their own description for grace. Yet believe that you must go around sharing their pamphlets or stand with their carts distributing their pamphlets, and then you must record the hours you spent and send it to them every month before you can be saved. Once you join them, you are pressured to convert your family, and if they don't convert, you are to limit your association with them because they are worldly association who would be destroyed at armageddon. All the books printed by their founder, Charles Russell is out of print. They are hidden from their members. Thank God you can see them on the internet now. The electronic copies. Or if you want the hard copies, you can get it from eBay. See! All I am saying is get to know them very very very well before you even step into their church or hall. Immediately you enter, they love bomb you. Once you are their member you can't research anything that criticizes them, their leaders or their teachings. Use www.jwfacts.com to see things they printed in their own publications old and new. Now watch how their members will want to attack my post. Just watch. www.Jwfacts.com 3 Likes 1 Share |

davidinchrist: Thank you so much sir. Indeed accepting the words of our lord, doing them and bearing fruits of Righteousness is what God blesses, and I agree 10000% sir. Thanks. It's just that sometimes when I see people propagating evil lies as doctrines, that only they will be saved at their "armageddon" because they belong to an organization that follows 7 whitemen and 1 black Man in America, I have to expose such evil groups who go around recruiting unsuspecting people as to how harmful their doctrines and policies are. But I appreciate your wisdom sir. May Jesus Bless you too sir. 1 Like |

OLAADEGBU: Thank you Sir. You are one person I have seen that has done a fair, objective, and balanced assessment of watchtower and their doctrines and policies. I like the maturity with which you bring up articles. You don't post speculation about them like some people may do, but you post verifiable facts that are in the public domain for all to see. When I started researching this group, some threads you made about them with links to the sources helped me greatly to be as objective and as fair as possible to them. Thank you sir. |

Maximus69: First of all thank you for acknowledging that your true internalized belief has been exposed. Every other person will die except Jehovah's witnesses. Bravo! For more receipts for people to see that, that is what your religion teaches, see "But Jehovah's servants already belong to the only organization that will survive the end of this wicked system of things." Watchtower 2007 Dec 15 p.14 And yet another "Let us recognize that Christendom is doomed, along with all the rest of Babylon the Great. She has refused to repent of her religiously immoral or adulterous course of action, her friendship with this world. (Jas. 4:4) She is like the rest of the ungodly world, even after Jehovah's Christian witnesses have plainly declared God's impending judgment to her." Watchtower 1975 Dec 15 p.755 So that is settled. No more hiding what you really believe. Your religion will survive and over 8 billion of the rest of mankind who worship God with sincerity are doomed at armageddon because they did not follow watchtower. Bravo!!! Secondly, the arrogance in your rhetorics is unbecoming for a Christian like yourself. First you called me and Unbeliever and told a very respected and decent man like Mr OLAADEGBU that you would "school him" with the Bible. All of these because I exposed and quoted directly what your watchtower says about Our salvation. Something you tried to hide in your response to my clear question. The Bible I know and read says our words should be gracious and seasoned with salt. Your words are far from gracious and they are unbecoming for someone who goes to peoples homes to preach. Oh well! Thank you for showing us that side of you. My next question is this, the Watchtower claims it was chosen by Jesus in 1919 as the Faithful and discreet slave (faithful and wise servant), can you please prove this to me from the Bible? What is the evidence? Thank you. 1 Like |

Maximus69: Thank you for responding. I respect that I truly do. Now I want the world to see that behind all the facade, the doublespeak, the loaded language and the roundabout explanation that is exactly what you said and that is exactly what you believe and what your organization teach. Like I said, when you made mention of the narrow door, you were referring to the Watchtower organization because that is what your Bible teach book, that your yellow book teaches. But there's more, and I want all the world to bear me witness as I post it from your watchtower - "Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah's universal organization." - Watchtower 2006 May 15 p.22 See image below to see it directly from their own publication. As you can see they teach that survival of individuals depend on their faith and loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah’s organization. Maximus69 here is the proof you asked for. Clear for the world to see. I ask all my Christian brothers and sisters here, please does the Bible teach that we are saved by association with an organization? Cc OLAADEGBU OpenYourEyes1 Gombs davidinchrist I want people to see what this organization really thinks of you. Behind all those loaded language, if you listen carefully you will truly understand what they mean.

Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by Timalt: 10:10am On May 28, 2020 |
Maximus69: Oh my God!!! A simple question I asked. See the roundabout answer. Only to subtly and cunningly say at the last paragraph Jesus also said many false Prophets will arise and mislead many {Matthew 24:11} and by the end, most people who thought they're Christians will be condemned and disappointed {Matthew 7:21-23} the only way out is to exert yourself vigorously to get in through the narrow door! Luke 13:24 From the use of loaded language, you clearly mean that other Christians would be destroyed and only Jehovah’s Witnesses and the organization who the Bible teach book you bring to our homes describe as the narrow door will survive. I hope everyone can see how he wanted to use deception by using long essay to dislodge my question. But placed the answer with a use of loaded language in the last paragraph. Only those in Jehovah's witness organization will be saved, because according to their Bible teach book, they are the narrow door. All other denominations who think they are Christians will be destroyed. So we can now see, behind your use of flowery words, you revealed your belief as to the fate of others. Thank you for that Maximus69. Thank you. Even though you tried to hide your belief behind euphemisms, you clearly didn't do a good job. Please I want Christians in the house to weigh in on this matter, is this scriptural, that salvation depends on loyalty to an organization? Cc: OLAADEGBU you are one among many christians I respect and enjoy most of your views on Nairaland. I believe you know the Bible more than me, that's why I called you. Please is the teaching of salvation by association to an organization which he euphemistically calls the "narrow door" scriptural? Does the Bible teach that the narrow door is one organization, while the broad door is all other religions put together as Maximus69 would have us believe? I anticipate your input sir. |
