pkasso: Chairman, you suppose dey calm down. I never called Jorginho useless. In fact, i said he's a decent player. Only Tuchel tweaked his system for Jorginho, others only persisted with him in theirs. You think if those Tuchel had better options he would play him?
At Italy, he is not even the best midfielder. You think if anyone in that Italy squad was half as good as Pirlo was, Jorginho go see starting shirt? The only person with quality suitable for that CDM role is Verratti but he can't play that role because of his rashness and lack of a cool head. Morever his skills as a elite ball progressor are irrepleaceable in that Italy squad. Shey na Gagliardini or Locatelli go bench Jorginho? If only Tonali was a bit older and more experienced we for no dey talk this thing.
Jorginho is a good player but not an elite one. Simples. Bro it was not a personal attack. I didn't direct it to you personally. It was directed to everyone labelling Jorginho useless. For him not to be the best midfielder in Italy and yet feature prominently shows you that he is very important to what Mancini wants. There is no way you guys can explain away what 3 to 4 coaches see and use. He even won individual awards. Come on! This no be luck abeg.. |

popizaino: It is not just one easy decision like to discard a DMF not especially if you are limited in that department besides jorginho always flatter to deceive and I get it while coach will keep trying him thinking he would surprise them. Willy idiot was like that too for Chelsea, Curdrado, Pedro, schurley, Salah could not displace him even when everything suggested he wasn't good enough so I am not surprise he is still getting playing times despite being very limited ability wise. So you mean Jorginho flatter to deceive coaches who work with him daily in training and match days and they HOPE he will improve instead of priotising DM in the transfer market, but you guys all the way from Nairaland have seen how useless Jorg is and how he can never improve? Una dey try o. |

Kilishihunter: Emerson has better options ahead of him not that he offers nothing, I'm not saying jorginho is useless or not good but he's not at the level most people think he's at And you don't think he is ABOVE the level most people think he is at? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 12:35pm On Jan 07, 2022 |
raumdeuter: This below explains it
Jorginho belongs to this Italia Mafia that somehow kidnap the family members of these coaches threatening violence if they bench Jorginho I can't think of another reason why a coach will rack his brain how to change team formation to accommodate a player that offers nothing to the team... I just weak. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 12:33pm On Jan 07, 2022 |
Kilishihunter: Emerson wasn't in the lineup consistently like jorginho na, Emerson's Italian break started after spinazzola tore his hamstring in the quarters, And he was chilwell's deputy at Chelsea, Kante was widely touted to bag the award before Switzerland happened, Jorginho is a good high volume passer and can position well no doubt, but he really doesn't have the attributes that mark him out as a world class DM or deep lying playmaker, Xabi Alonso could ping long balls and shoot from range, busquets who is also slow and weak like him is creative, is a better press resistant DM and can use his height and long legs to win the ball when in range, casemiro can break play and pass well, Chairman apart from him recycling short passes and doing the basics, Right now he's just an Italian penaldo At the bolded....Exactly! I didn't bother to read the rest of your explanations. Jorginho is important to both teams that is why he featured more than 10x Emerson. Emerson offers nothing so both coaches (Tuchel and Mancini) simply bench him. Why don't they simply give Jorginho the Emerson treatment if he, just like Emerson, offers nothing? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 12:25pm On Jan 07, 2022 |
If a player doesn't contribute anything to the team, what is the best and simplest thing the coach will do? Bench him. He contributed nothing NOTHING.
But why will a coach tweak and alter his formation and tactics to suit that player who contributes nothing to the team? I mean, isnt it way more easier to drop a player to the bench than look for a way to play that player even when it requires to tweak your normal formation before you feature that guy?
Sarri tweak his team to accommodate "useless" Jorginho. Tuchel tweak his formation to accommodate "useless" Jorginho. Mancini tweak his tactics to accommodate "useless" Jorginho..... What am I missing here? Wouldn't it be easier for these coaches to simply drop him from the team?
Well, maybe Jorginho belongs to this Italia Mafia that somehow kidnap the family members of these coaches threatening violence if they bench Jorginho.
I don't understand. |

Kilishihunter: Chairman only reason jorginho is both European footballer of the year and 3rd ballon d or overall is cause of being in two winning teams of the biggest trophies in 2021, Jorginho is not bad but he isn't great either, he doesn't have any particular attribute that marks him out as a professional in that aspect, If you guys sign someone like tchouameni, kamara or Denis Zakaria, that's the beginning of the end for him, pka sso ain't wrong Have you ever seen a Balon D'or or European Best player come from a losing team? Why is Jorginho's different? Meanwhile Emerson is in two winnings teams of the biggest trophies is 2021. |

Jorg/Saul double pivot. Mount just in front. Or maybe even Havertz, since Mount at 10 would mean having two left footers on the flanks. Aside 343, Tuchel is well known to play 433. Jorginho DM. Saul and Mount completing the triangle. |

Android22: Yea and they themselves never said so. Others did. Klopp only called Ralf a wonderful manager or something like that. I also feel like that was Klopp's way of helping an old friend get a job. Klopp knew that Ralf's PR team were working over time. I never said they said so. My exact state said "Klopp and Tuchel view Ralf as godfather". Take note, not as their godfather but as godfather. Considering Ralf's age (coaching wise) and his influence in German football, you don't have to wait till Klopp, Tuchel and other German coaches of their set say it before you know that they view Ralf as godfather. And yes, I've seen who Klopp specifically see as mentor and its not Ralf. |

Android22: As thus: (picture) however his PR did a very good job on selling him as such so he would secure the United job. United were hesitant about hiring him because they knew he had won nothing even though he is a good operational manager/consultant of burgeoning teams. You don't expect Ralf to call himself Klopp's mentor. That would sound as bragging. Klopp and/or Tuchel will be in the better position to say who his/their mentor is. |

Gengenpress could be attributed to former coaches like sacchi etc. But modern wise, pep barca transformed its use. Even tuchel claimed he learn most about football from pep barca. So, even if he doesn't win a champions league( which he has won for that matter), he his still one of the greatest coaches now. Certainly above the ones mentioned. Klopp and Tuchel viewing him as the best means nothing. Klopp and Tuchel view Ralf as godfather too. Is he more successful than them? |
