Its frustrating how Nigerian teams always flop in the CAF Champions League. I was really hoping one of them would make it to the next Club World Cup then I found out the last time we actually won it was like 20 years ago.
If you say "last time" e go sound like we don dey win am before that last time.....

The only time Nigerian club won CAF Champions League was Enyimba back to back 2003-05.

🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: 🗣 Matt_Law_DT: "About 3 weeks ago, Petrovic basically said, 'If I'm to come back and play for Chelsea, I want to be guaranteed that I am the first choice. I now consider myself a first-choice goalkeeper.'"

🗣 " Chelsea don't feel they can give him [Petrovic] that because they don't feel they're at that stage with him.

Chelsea would want him to come back to fight to be number one, and he wouldn't probably start as number one.

Petrovic, basically, from what I'm told, said, 'Well, I prefer not to go to the Club World Cup. I'd rather look at what I believe my options are to leave.'

So he asked not to go, so they didn't take it on. Chelsea said that if he wanted to go and if he was willing to compete without any guarantees, then he would have taken up one of the goalkeeper slots on the Club World Cup."

🗣️ "I'm told that he's a nice lad. I think he's a headstrong lad, because I think this time last year when it was made clear to him, you won't start this coming season as number one because Maresca doesn't see you as a style fit for him at this stage.

I think he then also made it clear this time last year that if he wasn't going to be number one, having spent the season at number one, then he would rather look for something elsewhere. So I think he is headstrong. He clearly knows his own value and his own worth."

(LondonBluePod)
I love players like this.

Go back to Strasbourg for another loan spell and hope for number 1 slot in the future.

See competition with over the hill Messi, Busquet, Ostari(38). Trezequet that couldn't cut it at Villa was moving like prime Neymar some hours ago.

Yesterday the manager of Auckland City(New Zealand) complained that some of the players couldn't travel because they have other commitments meaning they have other jobs. Some see football like side hustle in that country but they'll be playing Bayern today lol. I'll be surprised if they don't concede more than 7 with zero corners today. Part time footballers Vs Bayern Munich. Hmmm

There's no way you can compare this competition with the UEFA champions league. They're not mates.
FIFA can't sustain this tournament unless they restrategise.

You carry club football tournament go USA. How many fans dey watch ball there to fill stadiums full capacity? See as dem dey even hawk the ticket like Okirika cloths... Low sales.

Timing... Why put such tourney when top European leagues just ended. Players suppose go small holiday and report back for preseason. Which serious club go put body fully for this kind tournament?

As a fan, I will want to enjoy more football matches even during off season, but realistically, this tournament no be am, at all..

You're not very intellectually stimulating tbh. I had higher expectations for you.

And please, stop using my post to tell lies. I get it, you made a move at the King and missed, and now you have egg on your face for trying. Think about it positively. You're not the only one.

I said "what makes you think the [THAT] goal is more important than the assist for e.g" because the context was "he gave England hope, he scored in the Super cup".

Then I went on to explain why the goal scorer was irrelevant. If it wasn't so, why did City sell that player and still go on to win without said player?

That should tell you, the player was irrelevant. City's only focus was to WIN that game.

Run along now.
THAT goal was more valuable than the assist. Infact ALL goals are important than the assists that come with it.

If e pain you, come slap me.

After trying to derail me, you've circled back to arguing with yourself because you realized you were talking rubbish.

Nobody discussed that with you. My point was, nobody at City cared that it was Palmer who scored. City don't consider it an achievement (he could've influenced the game without scoring). The achievement was winning that game.

I'll ignore any time-wasting post from you going forward.
Scoreboard care that it's Palmer who scored. History cared that it's Palmer who scored. No one can change that.

Without those goals, City probably will not win those trophies. Fact.

Say whatever you want to say. I have corrected this your erroneous post that suggests that goals are not valuable than assists.

Android17:
He scored in the community shield? He scored in the Super Cup final? Did he not receive a pass to score? What makes you think the goal was more valuable than the assist for e.g?

I told you, you're not as clever as you think. What about own goals? Is the person's name not on the "scoreboard". Is it an achievement for the person?

Stop being silly.
The goal is more valuable than assist. Thats the point here.

Own goal or not, it's more valuable than any assist.

You're trying to be clever but the jacket isn't fitting you well.

The point of the statement is the person who finished the chance is irrelevant just like the person who gave the assist is a non-factor to the actual point. It is not an achievement. It could've been Rico Lewis. Rodri's achievement isn't that he scored in the UCL final - no. It was that City won the UCL and he was impactful. LOL

That's why even after Palmer left that season, City still won the league. Follow the conversation. You've tried to change it multiple times.
The person who finished the chance, the goal scorer, is the most relevant person here. His name is on the scoreboard.

Stop capping.

Basically assists are chances that were converted. So a player that created more than 60 chances with 8 assists like Cole Palmer have a Goal scoring problem that needs to be solved that's why Chelsea still hunting for a striker.

You're right, goals is more important.
Exactly.

You're still missing the point by a smidgen. I didn't say all assists are as important as all goals. I'm only responsible for what I've typed not what you understand. I said THAT particular assist was as important as that goal. Just like Jackson's goal against Betis. In other words, it is not an achievement for Palmer just like you guys said it wasn't an achievement for Jackson. Think. Think. Think.
And I'm telling you THAT particular assist was NOT as important as the goal.

That's why the scoreboard didn't capture THAT assist, but captures the goal.

Think. Think. Think.

Of course, you've missed the point. I'm starting to think this is a CFC thing.

The statement means someone else did an equally important job. Rodri gave a superb pass in the Super Cup, Palmer finished it. So why is Palmer scoring the achievement? That was my poser to air...head.

In other words, if Palmer wasn't there, someone else would've finished the chance.

Mahrez scored 24 goals in 21-22 season yet KdB made the podium for BdO and Mahrez didn't. It seems BdO didn't rate the 24 goals like that.
Their importance is NOT equal Oga.

Goal is more valuable than assist.

There are goals without assist. Is there an assist without goal?

Just read what you're typing. If Mbuemo was as good as Lamine, he won't be heading to United. Liverpool, City, Arsenal would have wanted the player. Trust me, clubs aren't blind.

Cunha was making the difference for Wolves. Mbuemo was making the difference for Brentford. They are good players. What's common amongst them? Avoiding relegation or midtable finish is their achievement. The better players won't want that. Winning the league, UCL, POTY - that will be their focus. That's what I'm saying about Palmer.

Think about it.
LOL... This guy.

Raphinha was making the difference for which team again before Barca bought him? What's common amongst him, Cunha and Mbuemo? grin grin

Even when I think you're joking, you'd type more illogical nonsense my way and I have to pause and really worry that you actually think you're making any sense.

Palmer scored in the Euros and gave England "hope"? That's an achievement?

He scored in the community shield? He scored in the Super Cup final? Did he not receive a pass to score? What makes you think the goal was more valuable than the assist for e.g?

Do you think Lamine cared that Inter players were praising him when Barca lost or do you think he was crying because he wanted to win and give no excuses? His answers are online. I don't need your subjective (usually brainless opinion) by the way.

You guys just have your heads in your behinds if I'm being brutally honest. I'm not even sure you understand the conversation that is ongoing.
Oga no dey cap! For real, you talk too much!

Which football match ever have you watched where the scoreboard display assists? Is it assist or goal that win matches? Even in FPL, does assist get you more points than goals?

Goals are MORE VALUABLE than assists that's why you see a scoreboard read 2-0. Two goals not two assists.

As if that assist didn't recieve a pass also.

You can't take everyone at once Oga. You go just dey cap upandan.

An obsession is a persistent, often unreasonable preoccupation with a particular idea, feeling, or behavior that dominates a person's thoughts and can cause distress or difficulty in daily life. It's an unhealthy, extreme interest in something, where the individual has lost control of their thoughts and feelings related to that object of obsession.
