nihilistjnr: This is as stoopid as asking why Leicester won the title in 2015, or why Greece won Euro 2004.
Sometimes you get lucky. That's why it happens once in 20 seasons like it just did for Napoli.
If your Napoli argument was strong you would be able to show us another team doing what Napoli did in Serie A since 2004. So Napoli got lucky to concede just 27 goals all season? Mr. Professor you can do better than this nah.... Is this how you teach illiterates? |

nihilistjnr: Or even the game against Napoli a few months where Napoli equalised against inter to draw 1-1 in the 87th minute, that's the 1 point they used to win. Did you factor Inter defence mess up against Lazio? Is that not the dropped points that gifted Napoli the league? Mr. Professor |

Amoto94: I know quite well that attack win you games and defense win you championships ( apologies to Fergie), I was only pointing out that using Napoli in the context Tim used it will only strengthen Air.mark's argument- he will simply retort that Napoli outscored their opponents And Inter outscored same number of opponents, 24. So what are you saying? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 10:32am On Jun 02, 2025 |
nihilistjnr: Exactly, Napoli would have won the league as long as they won their match 100-99. However if they had relied on defence and kept a 0-0 they would have come 2nd.
Like this is such a simple concept to grasp to anybody except brother Timbros. It's not a coincidence that the club has been prioritising signing attackers over the last 2 seasons. I mean Betis game isnt even that far away. Your problem na this your IF IF IF IF Can you speculation aside and make your points? |

Amoto94: We can even say that Napoli outscored their opponents in their wins, the argument is to outscore whether 1-0 or 5-4 they're making the argument for Airmark by referencing Napoli You don't get it, do you? Napoli didn't outscore more teams than Inter. So they never made more points than Inter by outscoring opponents. So why did they win the title? What did they do better than Inter? |

nihilistjnr: Napoli won the league with a single point on the final day of the season in a game they had to win, not a game they had to keep a clean sheet.
If Napoli had drawn 0-0, they would have lost the title. This was also a season where they won because everybody else under performed.
That's why Napoli's 59 goals are the lowest scored by a serie A champion in the last 20 years. Napoli had the 5th highest goal scored this season Meanwhile 8 of the last 10 serie A winners finished in top 3 from Goals scored.
Napoli were lucky this season. It was a one-off in the same ilk of the likes of Atletico Madrid. Historically even in the league that gave us Cattenacio, what Napoli did this year is far from the norm.
You think you cooked, but you really just showed yourself to be an ironman illiterate - it's Stark. Too much shalaye... Even adding "IF" to the conversation What did Napoli do better than other teams who outscored them? Simple question you dey write thesis for me. E say IF Napoli had drawn What IF Inter had lost while Napoli draw? Let's take the IF game a notch higher a bit.... What IF Inter lost the last two matches and IF Napoli won't the last two matches, will it still be a single point they will win the league with? Shebi na only you get monopoly of IF |

Airmark let's test your outscore theory in Serie A for a bit Napoli won 24 matches, that means they outscored 24 teams, right? Guess what, Inter matched that stats by outscoring 24 teams also, even scoring 20 goals more in the process! But Napoli ended up winning the scudetto. Why? Please, I want to know. Why did Napoli win the league when they did NOT outscore more teams than Inter, and when they did NOT score more goals than Inter, Atalanta, Milan and Lazio? What did they do better to deserve to be crowned champions? Come and teach an illiterate ooooo... I dey wait.

airmark: Context, obviously you don't know what that means.
They claimed modern football doesn't use traditional strikers and i pointed out teams that won the leagues with traditional striker, this season. How does your stupid question about number of goals scored by the striker, relate with what we were talking about?
Must you always disgrace yourself as someone who didn't see the 4 walls of a University? Why didn't you point out Liverpool among those teams that won the league with traditional striker? Or Liverpool don't have traditional striker? |

These are the champions you claim use traditional strikers to win their leagues. The selected champion above isn't the highest scoring team in the league, not the second, not even the third.... With their traditional striker. What then helped them to win the league with their meagre goals scored? I guess the question is irrelevant because you don't have answer for it. |

This club was once known as a club who went after the best of players. I'm surprised most of you have not adjusted your mindset to the club running strategy of this new owners. People here still dream of signing players of a particular age bracket. |
