coogar: mode-9 went where in the UK? which concert did he pull? where did he pull it? keep lying to yourself. mode-9 is simply not good enough for the type of rap he does. i can name 5 members of this forum that would destroy mode-9 lyrically and they don't even rap for a living.......

nigerians have been listening to rap long before you were conceived. are you kidding me? the days when boys go to studio with their maxwell tapes or chrome tapes to record music from top DJs nko? this was long before CD players became popular in nigeria - late 80s/early 90s....
How many Nigerians know Rakim, Premo, Eric B and the likes? How many hip-hop heads are there in dis country? If no be for Mp3 devices, iPods, etc.
Music/RadioRe: Mode9 Cries Out On Neglect Of His ‘type Of Rap’ by timecop28: 7:47pm On Aug 18, 2013
coogar: this is a big lie.....
fact is, mode-9 is not even good at what he does. i can humbly say there are about 5 million fans of hardcore rap in nigeria and if 10% of that figure buys mode-9's albums, he should be fine.

however, mode-9 cannot make good music. his lyrics are confusing. he makes a lot of errors. that he's the only one in nigeria driving underground rap does not mean he's excellent at it. most nigerians would rather buy nas albums than mode-9's albums.
5 million what?! lol..where are they? when did Nigerians start listening to rap? How many Nigerians buy even foreign rap albums talkless of the local acts? Unanswered questions.

Babiloko: kendrick didnt play anytin safe...pls go n listen 2 his verse agen... I agree dat was nt a diss
Well he tagged himself the king of New York, then gave a shout out to the real kings of New York. You can't just call yourself the king of New York when Nasty Nas is still alive. He takes such very seriously. It was the genesis of the beef between Nas & Jigga back then. Biggie & Nas had a beef cos of the same title with shots fired at Biggie on Nas's "The message". My point is Kendrick specially separated those who would really get mad at that careless line.

Yup yup..but I doubt if any of those he mentioned would fire direct shots at him, the best they would do is to throw subliminals..Only Pusha-T is sure to go extra. Besides, the verse is more is more of a tribute to those folks than a diss. Dats why d ones he ignored shld be more concerned.
Kendrick played it safe by shouting out the heavyweights from east coast (Jigga & NAS). My opinion

Music/RadioYour Best Response To Kendrick Lamar's 'control' Verse by timecop28(op): 10:32pm On Aug 17, 2013
Earlier this week, Fast rising Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar delivered some vicious and atrocious lines on Big Sean's left over song from his previous album 'Control' where he called out some of his rap mates and also referred to himself as the king of New York.
This events shook the Hip-hop world as a lot of Hip-hop fans had mixed reactions over the verse. Since he dropped the very daring and controversial lines, a number of responses have come out from different rappers mostly east coast rappers since the release of the song on Monday. Some of the rappers who have risen up to the challenge are Lupe Fiasco, B.O.B, Joell Ortiz, Papoose, Cassidy e.t.c. even the comedian Kevin Hart had something to say.
Out of all these responses, which MC do you think came off hardest? for me, I give it Slaughterhouse's Joell Ortiz.

ogugua88: Some people are in serious need of psychiatric evaluation.

Since when is a girl too slim to work out? Is exercise for external appearance and health only?

Imagine beefing this girl because she's working outside. "Use the gym". Who brought you a gym or the notion of dumbbells and treadmills in the first place? Were your ancestors using dumbbells and treadmills to keep lean? Or were they outside working in the environment God provided? Soon these same people will be complaining of westernization. Only on Nairaland is working out and being outside a crime. I overtaya.

@Spongeback, well done sis. Thanks for leading by example. Cardiovascular disease and respiratory failure are not your portion in IJN.
I don't think anyone is beefing her cos she chose to work out 'outside'. As a matter of fact, outdoor workout is what i do and it's equally effective for staying fit. Only saying it seems more like she is playing than working out.

Alright, I'm not hating on the fact that you are working out though. But blowing a trumpet is the uncool part.
I would have been more disappointed if a guy did this. #Brocode

I really don't think the poster went there for a serious workout but rather to take NL photographs showing off her Beats by 'Drake' & the seemingly tattered tennis shoes.
By the way OP, jogging at the beach is a good idea, but take the aerobics to the gym or hire an instructor.

How can you expect jonathan to undo all the wrong doings which originated more than 35yrs ago and has eaten deep into the fabric of its existence within 3 years.
He has really proved he is capable of 'Undoing' all the wrongs by granting presidential pardon to a top political thief within 3 years. undecided

Stiv: Did corruption start in GEJ's regime? Why are we grossly hypocritical? Was Nigeria a blessed state before Jonathan came to power? Was El-Rufai not a beneficiary of a corrupt government? Who owns LCC? Did Fash really use 1Bn Naira to construct a 10km road?

PDP is corrupt, but its shocking that the people who contributed to make it so have cross-carpeted and are acting as if they're saints. If people want to be blind, fine by them.

He without sin should cast the first stone. And he with sins should confess them and seek forgiveness first before castigating his fellow sinner.
It has gone from bad to worse in GEJ's regime. It has never been this bad before. It's even more like GEJ encourages corruption.

taharqa: Actuali, Oil theft has been reducing SIGNIFICANTLY in d last few mouths. Data from Reuters indicates that Nigeria's September Oil Future's Export is 1.94mpbd (and this is not even including d Crude used incountry and of course d few hundreds of barrel of Condensate Equivalents that wud also be exported). This wud esp be d case as d problematic Nembe Trunk Line which has been shut down for months now wud be reopened by Shell this week. Know what you are talking about b4 opening that mouth in public, plz...... @topic, sorry: I try not to comment on stuffs related to characters like Elrufai...
Data from this, statistics by that..You can't give me some data that does not reflect what is really happening and just expect me to accept that. Except you don't live in Nigeria, dats when I expect you to be gullible enough to validate the fake stats we see. Is it not the same data that says Nigerian economy is growing and yet it doesn't seem like it in reality considering the state of the nation?
JONATHAN not only knows the oil theives, he is one of them.

Yes the yorubas have the 'agberos'..But who are the kidnappers and armed robbers in the country?..You all cry of marginalisation while the South west remains the most developed part among the geopolitical zones..I can bet that majority of you here went to some of the Universities in the SW. Instaed of you to tell your corrupt leaders to take a cue from Fashola and develop your states. You are here displaying your ignorance as always.
Did you know that the so-called slums in Lagos state are occupied by the igbos? The igbos turned dem to the slums that they are today.

Other credible and unbiased newspapers never reported this news except tribune. I'm sure Punch will follow suit..., u know what I mean. Truth is that no amount of face-mending lies or deceit by LASG and her collaborators will salvage this unconstitutional and inhuman act unless it accepts being at fault and apologise to the people involved and Nigerians. The signs of nemesis have already started manifesting- with Fash already loosing his father. More to come.
