PoliticsRe: Lagos Reunites 46 With Their Relations In Osun by timecop28: 10:21am On Aug 08, 2013
collynzo2: I am sure all these were among those counted during the last census. You used them to inflate your population count, get the highest allocation, then dump them. What happens to the huge Federal allocation Lagos state is getting because of people like this? I think another population census should be done after all these people have been deported, then Federal allocation adjusted accordingly.
If there is any state that would survive without the Federal allocation, then it is Lagos state. If there is any leader with vision and ambition in Nigeria, that will be BRF.
And in this country, You need to be very daring to achieve any thing tangible, that is what makes Fashola admirable.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Reunites 46 With Their Relations In Osun by timecop28: 9:58am On Aug 08, 2013
To y'all tribalists:
1) Fashola had 'deported' notherners in the past..Did we all hear any noise?

2)Theodore Orji was the first to deport people from Abia state..Y'all didnt see any wrong in that right?

3) Anambra had also previously done the same before now. Sure it wasn't any of your concerns too.

I think it is only logical to say that IGBOS are unreasonably sensitive people...Moreover, i'm not suprised coz this is all about Fashola.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Reunites 46 With Their Relations In Osun by timecop28: 9:38am On Aug 08, 2013
KwoiZabo: na you post. na you comment.
now let me tell all of you, all these proliferation of news on deportation is just to make what fashola did to look mild but we cannot be deceived. what fashola did is bad, an insult to igbos, condemn able in all its ramifications. how on earth can you justify dumping 72 citizens under a bridge in their own country at the dead of the night in the name of reconciling them with their family. what rubbish.
You are only being ignorant just because you want to make this issue a tribal one. Some of those 'dumped' at Onitsha had Yoruba and Efik names.

SniperInADiaper: Wo ye kwasia. That's cheap! tongue
That $100 ring at store A could be $500 at store B. Besides, I do not expect her to ask me how much i got the ring and i'm not inclined to telling her about it, she loses some cool points the moment she spills the question.

rill: Wow, Auchi poly was ranked above UI. Lmao!!!!!!
Now d question is....do I believehuh
LMAO..It's the same web that ranked UNILORIN as number one in Nigeria some years back.
EducationRe: OAU Ranked 8th In Africa And 1st In Nigeria by timecop28: 2:15pm On Aug 06, 2013
collynzo2: Probably never been to University of Ibadan. You wouldn't have written this.
You've obviously never been to OAU. I've been to UI and there isn't anything special about the architectural design. Only ABU comes close.
Although, I don't take rankings of any kind seriously (Forbes inclusive), The first generation universities yet remain the best in Nigeria..and OAU leads, considering the quality of graduates the institution produce.

EducationRe: Nigerian Graduates With 5.0 CGPA From Russian University by timecop28: 8:46am On Jul 05, 2013
99cent: congrats to him. but why Russia? huh
at least USA or UK will be more understandable.
Because there is a Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) between the FG and countries like Russia, China, Ukraine, Turkey, etc. which doesn't include the USA or the UK. He was a beneficiary of such scholarship.
NYSCRe: Should NYSC Be Scrapped? by timecop28: 10:22am On Jul 04, 2013
I don't support the popular view that it should be scrapped because if you look at the state of the nation right now, you would see that NYSC seems to be the only thing that cushions against the effects of the Unemployment situation in the country, plus many other advantages of the programme.
The policy only needs to be reviewed because in the real and unbiased sense, its merits far outweighs its demerits.
EducationRe: Nigerian Graduates With 5.0 CGPA From Russian University by timecop28: 10:10am On Jul 04, 2013
HotNaijaBabe: Lol..okay! Still thinking about this 5.0 CGPA oh! This guy needs National award from FG...I'm sick and tired of seeing some undeserving people getting National awards.
A very good recognition other than a National award is just okay in my opinion..You can't just give the national award to every Tom, Dick and Harry, although such has been the case in Nigeria.
Firstly, He should be fused into the Nation's public health sector especially the research arm. If he can make a groundbreaking discovery in medicine such as a cure for Cancer or another Penicillin-like discovery wink, then we can most definitely recommend a national award grin

CelebritiesRe: OJB Responds To Juliet Ibrahim Questioning His Kidney Transplant Cost by timecop28: 9:32pm On Jul 03, 2013
beebop: I'm hesitant to comment on this topic as I've seen all these vile attacks on people who are not 100% in support of this.

Basically, the biggest issue for me is that every few months, there is someone getting attention on social media and the press for an ailment or another. This will inevitably create "donor fatigue" where people will be tired of being asked to donate to every cause of the minute and vilified if they decide not to.

So I do think it's somewhat unfair of OJB to request N15 million arbitrarily where it's a FACT that thousands of people will be happy to receive N3 or 2 million to go to local hospitals for renal transplants (by far the most common transplant there is) including aftercare (or even N6 million for India trips). So is OJB worth 5 lives (or another life that can be saved in India)? And I also see potential avenue for abuse where donations are not transparent, there is no breakdown of amount received vs costs anticipated. Transparency is important to set precedent so it can weed out the dishonest that WILL eventually try to abuse the generosity of Nigerians.

In any case, I'm glad that kidney diseases have been brought to the forefront and alternatives explored. And it highlights the sorry state of our medical facilities and the complete lack of any welfare state. Nigeria cannot keep crowdsourcing healthcare, it is not sustainable, sooner or later fatigue will set in. If we had any kind of government, they should ask themselves how Nigeria will move forward if we cannot even take care of our citizens.

I have nothing against people who are willing to donate. I have and will, time and again donated cash/time to causes/people I strongly believe in. I don't have unlimited cash and I know I cannot help everyone that comes to my attention and needs help. But before I part with my cash, I like to know that it's directly going to support the cause/person it was intended to.
Now the questions are; We understand the Lagos state Government is aware of the move and they are in full support...Are they also vague of how much a kidney transplant will cost in total? which I very much doubt. Did they also conspire with OJB to cook up figures like that to scam the public?
Moreover, His daughter had a heart problem for several months, did he beg the public for donations to handle that? Also, do you know he would have thought about the shame and embarrassment this appeal for aid would bring before making a decision on the move?
Lastly, Has any of your close relatives, friends or loved ones ever had a kidney transplant?? If yes, Kindly tell us how much it cost them in total...ENOUGH SAID!
CelebritiesRe: OJB Responds To Juliet Ibrahim Questioning His Kidney Transplant Cost by timecop28: 3:18pm On Jul 03, 2013
I figured lots of u have got comprehension or arithmetic issues or both..Now he mentioned that Juliet Ibrahim might be getting a rebate of abt $55,000, more than 1/2 of what hez begging for..which doesn't apply to him..What about the donor..You know who he is?? what about the running cost of the procedure like he pointed out?? and u bliv he will just get another kidney and call it a day?
Make una try dey think naw?? sad
CelebritiesRe: OJB Responds To Juliet Ibrahim Questioning His Kidney Transplant Cost by timecop28: 3:03pm On Jul 03, 2013
Just to be clear....He actually meant he would need some money for post-surgery needs, not for food, drinks, etc..like some of you might interprete it to be. You don't just go home and forget ur worries sequel to a major surgical operation like that..
Just pray you are not afflicted with the same ailment and stop criticizing someone battling to survive from it..Hiann!!!
I think there should be a "Reader's discretion advised" at the top every page.

nedu2000: I think the fact,he admits that he'll use almost half the cash to cater for himself for the next one year as shameful really,I wish him speedy recovery however smiley
*Sighs* Is that small statement incomprehensible for you again?? Where did he say he'd use 'almost half the cash' for upkeep? Don't take his words out of context..Read and understand before u post ur comment.
