. Please what is the name of this Igbo man? No matter how you guys say it nobody can say Igbo man destroyed Nigeria. SAP or no SAP it wasn’t an Igbo was the military head.
I already did earlier. Dr. Kalu Idika kalu, he was finance minister, ex world bank staff, he gave the advise, IBB took it.

Simple. They did not diversify, so they ran out of the money needed to keep the naira strong. Hence , they had to devalue or else....

(Yes, tinubu was part of the APC government from the word go in 2015).
And what executive position did Tinubu occupy in the last administration?.

Black market actually started in 1982.
Besides, you're blaming IBB's devaluation, spiralling inflation, high debt and parallel market round-tripping to justify Tinubu's devaluation, spiralling inflation, high debt and parallel market round- tripping, how exactly does that make sense to you.
Who institutionalized blackmarket if not IBB. I was giving a background to the collapse of the naira. You can't talk about the strength of naira in 1978 and then ignored the periods that kick started the begining of the weakness of naira. Take a backseat pls.

Yes, but IBB did what most Nigerian leaders did, and still do. Rely on one source of income.
Not entirely, remember that those before him didn't do that, infact, OBJ criticized him for the decision at the time. However, those who came after IBB did the same including OBJ who came back as civilian president ironically. Also remember that IBB relatively enjoyed the biggest oil windfall at some period, where IBB and his goons were amassing wealth. Do you know we were also paying subsidy on fuel at the detriment of our refineries?.

You mean IBB that left office in 1993 is still the reason your currency lost over 200% value in 2024.
And you say you have a brain
In your brain, do you think Naira could go back as strong as 1.80 to a dollar before he devalued it and then sold us out to the world lenders. If OBJ had destroyed it in 1978, one ignorant kid won't be opening a thread about the strength of naira in 1978.

The collapse of the naira was inevitable when the oil price crashed in 1982. Government tried delay tactics, but by 1989, the reality set in.
Yeah, oil price crashed before he took power, Saudi was particularly flooding the market with oil, thereby crashing the oil price. However, IBB's wrong economic decisions crashed the value of the currency.

Another supporter of failed regime on the lose again. A bag of 50kg rice was N8000 before calamity (APC) befall Nigeria today it's over N60000 TODAY. Can you give us prices of commodities before and after IBB regime let compare it with calamitious APC
Ignorant kid, you went as far as 1978 but jumped over 1985 when IBB took over and institutionalized poverty in the country. Naira was badly devalued, inflation rose geometrically, debt was blowing up. People could barely feed themselves. It was also in his regime that black market became part of our system where corrupt politicians took dollars out of the official market into the black market to resell at higher rates. Till today, we have had to live with the black market. Comparing prices of commodities to 1985 is ridiculous, in which part of the world sells the same commodity in 2024 as was in 1985?. Ignorant child.

Nigeria was a healthy country when nnamdi forced us to be together.

After then other tribes said no igbo man will ever rule Nigeria and then the country started nosediving till it reached its current depths today.

So you can't blame the igbo man for the rundown state of the country, you can only blame azikiwe for forcing us to be together even though his people could never rule the country.

So don't blame the igbo for Nigeria rot. Blame the hausas, fulani and yorubas.
If the country was healthy as you claimed, then why was there a coup by the military?. According to the coupists, the country was messed up in corruption and they needed to cleanse the system of corrupt politicians, which Azikwe was the President. So why would you absorb igbo?

Kids of nowadays, SMH!. When you stopped history in schools, this is what you get- ignorance!, blissful ignorance!. If you knew the level of great hardships that our parents went through during the period, you won't be here heaping a satanic worship on a man who initiated the begining of economic woes on Nigeria. With the introduction of SAP, IBB destroyed the economic foundation and progress of the country. In one fell swoop, naira was devalued by 500%, then up to 2000%, our debts increased to about $34billion, inflation rose to 54%. We could barely service our short term loans and thus, sellers overseas were reluctant to sell goods to us. Till today, we haven't recovered from SAP, IMF, World Bank captivities that IBB led us into and guess who was the Finance minister at the time, an economist and an ex-World Bank staff, Dr Kalu Idika. Kalu. If there's anyone that should be tied to a stake and shot, it is these two evil geninuses.

Do we have to gloat about similar unfortunate incidents that happened in Enugu, Anambra or Imo?. I think some of you need to get your brain checked. Do you think IF the candidate you support was the president, terrorists or bandits would walk back into their hole because he's the one feeding them?. This menace has been on for 20years and it's growing because many locals are feeding off it.

why did obaseki appreciate wike after the election? Why didn't obaseki come out to dispel the 'lies' after wikes speech at the luncheon? Wike specifically said obaseki doesn't keep to agreement in the luncheon, I guess they had to follow through with the cases because obaseki failed to live up to his own part of the bargain in terms of appointments after the elections.

The orbih group had to make an attempt to retain the structure after obaseki renaged on the deal. I hope you know I'm alluding to pdp primaries in Edo state?
Obaseki messed up and as soon as the SC upheld his factional NWC, he doubled down on his attacks on Wike. He thought Wike would be irrelevant after office.

He is telling a lie. Of course, politicians lie... He pleaded yet they pursued it to the Supreme Court or you didn't know the Apex Court ruled on it less than 2 months before the election?

The Federal High Court, under Justice Inyang Ekwo, upheld Orbih's list, that is why Obaseki did not attend the Presidential Primaries and his people also did not attend, it was Orbih's people that voted.

Obaseki's people appealed and the Appeal Court declined Jurisdiction and held that the Party was Supreme but did not make any consequential order.

Orbih's people now approached the Supreme Court for interpretation, the Apex Court affirmed Obaseki 's list and held that the NWC's decision is FINAL. So how did he appeal to them, after the Supreme Court judgement?
Obaseki reneged on ALL the agreements, Orbih would have withdrawn the case before it got to the SC if Obaseki had fulfilled his end of the bargain.

This is a show of shame, more shameful using the bereaved to score political points. I don't see him go to Anambra where two brothers were killed or Imo where two policemen were killed and the people hailing him with camera in their faces, such a red carpet condolence will never happen in the east. Why take advantage of the vulnerable people in the north?

Might really not be far from the truth, an average nigerian in our private space, goes to buy goods worth of 50,000 in the North, sell in the South for 150,000 and then blame the Government for hike in price rather than the greed of an average individual. You walk into a shop to buy a product for a price, when you go back to same seller the next day to buy same product still in stock, he inflates the price by some margins, inflating the price of an old stock. Greed breeds corruption, an average Nigerian is made of greed.
