Even though the supreme court ruled in favour of LG autonomy, they are presently still controlled by the states. That's why the lawmakers want to truly let them become autonomous.

As long as the Supreme Court had ruled over it, it becomes a law. It's no longer a matter for debate, the constitution will have to accommodate it. Whether the Governors will obey the law and allow it LG to function is another debate entirely.

But not anymore as at today. The financial and economic realities are on upward trajectory compared to the past.

The 2025 budget was open to the public, all the figures were reported in all the newspapers, they were debated and approved by the national assembly which was covered by the media. The MTEF was presented by the President, approved by the Senate and all the figures of proposed borrowings for the period were made public. These are public documents that a click of a button on your phones would bring it up to you. Unfortunately, rather than equip yourselves with knowledge and make your own research, you prefer coming online to look for headlines that would mislead you because of your crude political sentiments, you rather some political figure or opposition come out and drop a line such as " Nigeria is finished", then you jump on it and start screaming along, while they take advantage of your ignorance.
Every single loan the President requested are within the expenditure framework, the loans so far are within the limit of the budget. Both the federal and state Governments are well within their borrowing limits so far. Of course, you can not expect they borrow it all at once, instead they have to borrow strategically as it deem fit.
Whenever you hear the Government requesting for a loan, rather than start screaming, it would do you much good to follow up on the expenditure framework to determine if the Government is within its limit or not before carrying vuvuzela exposing your ignorance.

The root cause of the problems identified by Akon here is our poor educational systems. We couldn't do away with the likes of shell and exxon mobil because we lacked the technical know how. The oil boom money that would've been used to provide knowledge (education) was embezzled and siphoned abroad by our leaders (most especially military). They have forgotten that knowledge is power 💪

Oil business is basically capital intensive, no local players could compete with these international oil investors 40, 30, 20, 10 years ago, even today, they had to sell their assets for local firm's to buy them otherwise, no local firm's can compete with them financially and technically in the industry. Even the Government that was supposed to invest in the sector have failed to do that due to corruption. Government couldn't manage four refineries, they rather we continued importation of fuel for over three decades.

During the media parley, Wike said when Obasanjo got the memo, he put a call through to him to resolve his land issue in the FCT, ditto General TY Danjuma. These are former President, former Chief of Army Staff and former minister of defense respectively, yet they went through the appropriate channel without resorting to abusing their military privileges not resorting to physically assaulting officials of Government who are discharging their duties. Kanu and his team are not being honest with themselves saying they had no access to the case file until recently. This is only an attempt to deceive the uninformed. Kanu's team have had access to every court documents and charges both original and amended charges.

This was Kanu's lawyer admitting they've seen the copies of the judgement of the Supreme Court and they were ready to face the trial at the Federal high court. Why have they been trying everything to frustrate the proceedings of the court they claimed they were prepared for?, trying to change the goal post in the middle of the game.

After the Supreme Court had given its judgement on December 15, 2023, the copies of the judgement were released on January 23, 2024 and transferred to the federal high court.

Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to the IPOB leader, announced this in a post on his X handle on Monday.

There's no doubting the fact that US Intelligence has failed them on several occasions including the 9/11. They have had to rely more on Isreal's intelligence, even at that, recent happenings have proven that Isreal's intelligence is also fallable.

The FOB levy which has been eliminated, the interest free loans extended to the Airlines to help with the ease of operations, the several bottlenecks which the minister has removed in the last two years, helping him expand operations to London and Brazil. Go check his interviews before this Government came to power, see how he was lamenting from start to finish and then compare to his recent ones within this two years. You wouldn't know only if you're close minded and your thoughts conditioned in a certain way.
