1. When oil was drained, how many liters came out? 2. Have you been servicing at normal service intervals? 3. Scan vehicle for codes and let's see if there's a misfire. |

Car Talk › Re: What Happens When I Change Engines With Different Displacement? by timifakay(m): 7:17pm On Jul 02, 2019 |
Wigetsolar: Hello Cartalkers, I have been wondering what might happen if I drive a 2.0L Honda Accord and replaces the engine when it is old with say, a 2.4L Engine.
My friend drives has a 2001 Honda Accord (baby boy) and while he travelled and the valves bent as a result of snapped timing belt. He left the car there and went to the nearest autoparts market and bought another engine, which he didn't know is the 1999 model engine (probably with higher displacement) and after it was installed, he complained of slightly higher fuel consumption.
My questions are: 1. Will the Ecu adjust fuel values for the new engine? 2. Will it affect fuel consumption?
Gazzuz_ Nurey Difference goes beyond engine displacement... There would be difference in nozzle and ignition coil sockets to say the least... |

I'm not supporting or defending the guy but please some parts need to be stated with accurate date.
1. What's the date the vehicle wan bought at auction? 2. What's the date it got to the port? 3. What's the vessel that shipped it from USA to Nigeria? 4. What's the date vehicle arrived in Nigeria? Did you tell him to bid a maximum of $1100 or that winning amount and auction fees shouldn't exceed $1,100?
If vehicle got to Nigeria on March 13 and he couldn't clear and deliver till late June, then that guy is a terrible person. Sorry about the inconvenice and delay. I hope its a good car he got for you... |

thebigkendo: Oga sir if you like wear the best Red wings(Google it) you cannot have "good" grip with oil on tiles... Now can you eliminate(100%) oil spill in the workshop? I don't think so. Groove concrete might not be the best next option but tiles no follow..
PPE is the last in the hierarchy of Hazard Prevention and Control.. Engineering control comes before administrative control(cleaning oil spills) followed by PPE If you can not totally prevent spill, then you need something that won't hold the oil at all at all.. Tiles are better than groove concrete in this regard... Google search of automobile workshop floors worldwide show smooth easy to clean floors are favoured over rough surfaces |
Autos › Re: Hybrid discussion Thread. by timifakay(m): 6:31am On Jun 28, 2019 |
Eddee: Morning chief, interned at UNICEM (now Lafarge), some years back and for a fact, I know this was mentioned in the orientation walk through and video. Sorry, can't place source Automobile workshops are prone to oil and fluid spills. Grooved concrete is hard to clean... Therefore smooth floor is more desirable and safer in a workshop like this as staff and personnel PPE provide needed grip on smooth dry surface. Emphasis on dry, it's more important than surface texture here. thebigkendo: Safety wise.. Does tiles + mobil 1 or ATF or PS fluid = Accident or near miss.. Even though I noticed some of the tiles are broken, the broken tiles will reduce slip but if the slip occurs, the broken tiles can actually cut..
Grooved concrete will reduce slip hazard. Grooved concrete will also not crack/break when a chain or wire string fails & engine block falls from the hydraulic hoist Grooved concrete will hold in fluid, but it's very important to have dry floor at all times. There's fire hazard here too... |
