Zeewirld: With the current high score and IRCC unpredictability....I am wondering if those on 470-479 stand any chance in getting ITA...It is frightening and tiresome They will just be patient. |

Profgordons: Why not get her a passport to avoid complications as you are already creating we have done the biometric it takes about 2months plus here in Uk, we won’t be able to meet up with the 50days left. I’m thinking of using her Uk residence permit with a letter of explanation. |

babajeje123: Please has anybody successfully moved from the UK to Canada? I've a brother that's a PR and he's asking me to come with my family. I'm sceptical about this as I don't know why he thinks Canada is better than the UK. He hasn't lived in the UK so he doesn't have practical experience. I want someone who has lived in both countries to kindly share their practical experience. My wife is really emotional about the whole thing as she wants us to leave the UK but I don't want to go and start all over again as one is getting settled here by God's grace. Pls help I've booked for IELTS test to make her happy but thinking of cancelling it. Myself and my wife are currently living in Uk. My wife is a registered nurse, I work as a secondary school teacher, I went into teaching simply because of the limited opportunities here in Uk, I told myself I wouldn’t do dirty jobs here in England just for survival. I’m a bioengeer, I lived in Norway for three years I had a better life over there but I had to move down to uk because of my kids, I always wanted my kids to grow up in an English speaking environment. Let me explain something to you people who have very good jobs here in uk, I mean they earn over 70k pounds are not doing better than I am because of the tax, when you earn over 50k pounds you get taxed by 40percent, at the end of the year their salaries and mine does not have much difference. The country is structured in such a way that they don’t want you to stack to much money in your account. You see lots of people with masters degree working in care homes, ware house doing all sorts of odd jobs they have got no choice. Have got two siblings in Canada one completed his masters few months ago he got a job worth 95k cad a year, it’s difficult to get such here na only grace of god fit make you get am for here. Lots of business you can venture into compared to Uk. I’m sure the role you claimed you got with nhs is data analyst which is around 29k to 32k per annum, if you remove tax your take home is way lesser than guys living in Canada. If you take your brother’s advice I’m sure you won’t regret it. |

ednut1: there is nothing like strategy to keep scores high. IRCC has no say on who enters the pool or who acquires things that will shoot up their scores. When scores was 430s in 2019 there were fewer people in the pool. Na survival of the fittest. Bro let be realistic, ircc are giving priority to bilingual, the bilingual are those with high scores together with those with Canadian experience. They are kinda forcing people with below 490 to provincial nomination. It’s as simple as that. |

Tonyamori: You can’t know occupations in demand in Alberta ... but since December nope they have not picked sec school teacher . There are about 8 NoCs in demand I checked actually and secondary school teachers are part of the list of occupation demand, I actually asked the question to know if any one has ever got selected in the pool as a secondary teacher for Alberta nomination or any other province. Thanks |

Llaye: I’m not sure this is it, because I can’t see how keeping the scores high serves them. I think they’re starting to lean towards occupations in demand draws through the PNP since most PNP holders are in occupations that are in demand by their provinces .
I just wish they would inform us before changing things randomly. I understand it’s their country and they can choose whatever system they like, but it does seem “improper” (read: unfair) to change systems suddenly while keeping applicants in the dark. Especially when you say you are trying to attract people.
But they can get away with doing things this way, so I guess we have to accept it. 😥
Me and my 502 score have been sitting in the pool for about four weeks now, yet no ITA. Who would have thought that could happen? With your 502, you gat no worries you will get your ita anytime the draw come up, relax yourself. I wish my score is around 500. I’m stalked on 481 it’s really painful 😓. |

With the look of things it may seem as though ircc don’t wanna go below 490, they keep waiting for high scores on the pool before they conduct draw. |

Profgordons: My Oga, no vex. I dey Abuja like this. If you follow my posts, I’ve always expressed optimism that the numbers will gradually come down but I don’t own IRCC, we live in a dynamic world and all we can do is to prepare for change not responding to it as it could be late. I believe there are many ways to the market but most routes will cost money. What we can do is to prepare, live our lives and make it. Bro people here keep saying IRCC don’t owe us anything, if they don’t they should have opened this platform, it’s would have been better if they communicate as regards the sudden pause. I don’t blame them sha I blame our country if the county is cool what are we looking for outside here. Have been on the pool for years I wrote ielts exam several time. I was able to max out with the help of my wife, I was on 485 initially but my result got expired last month had to write a new one, my last result wasn’t good, I wasn’t able to max out my reading I list 4 point dragging me down to 481, I will be 30 by next year I’m gonna loose about 4points. If I don’t get the ita this year then it’s save to say good bye to ircc. |

Profgordons: Your assumptions may be right brother, but check all the recent people who have gotten ITA here, they were mostly FSW. People have found a way around hitting those numbers for themselves, you can’t get it wrong with French. Also some have younger spouses and decided to explore that. If you go to Canada today, you will see on ground that we are not even complaining here, there are currently even protests in some parts and also by the end of this year, thousands of PGWPs that were extended during the Covid policies are set to expire and most of them still don’t have PR. When you go to Canada after 40years, add education and IELTS, you will still struggle and that is the age range of many Nigerians who have embarked upon this.
In fairness, they do not owe the public any information, they have policies that exist and people chose to key in, they have the discretion to do and undo. There are other countries that have PR routes and no one is talking about them, Canada only appeared to be easy to achieve and that made it quite popular, this was not a topic in 2014. Baba you Dey talk like this because you don Dey there already, bro it’s not easy been on the the pool for years hoping one Dey it will get to your turn and you keep getting disappointment each time you are getting closer, we have spent a lot to get to that point if they ain’t intrested in us they should kindly inform us so we can look into other places. |

Goulak: unnecessary foolish faith in IRCC. thinking I will get ITA latest this march 1st. They don’t prioritize federal skillled workers anymore with the look of things because I don’t understand the whole process anymore we have been in the pool for years hoping to the ita each time we get closer something goes wrong. Just tired of the whole thing. English exam got expired had to write a new one still nothing sup. |

Don't just keep people in the dark I’m highly fustrated I don’t think I can re write ielts I gave it my all with the last one I wrote. I lost 4 points due to my reading I had 7band in reading instead of 8 had it been I maxed out the reading I would be on 485 instead of 481, anytime I remember he Dey pain me big time. |

horlorbah: The way IRCC does with this whole thing is really tiring and frustrating. No timeline/timetable for which type of draw should be expected, just keep us in the dark and come up with surprises. Imagine being in the draw for years and still no hope of when to get ITA. Funny how people were getting ITA with 430 some years and now with 470, you are not even sure if you will get it. It's annoying!!! very frustrating dear, I feel the pause messed up the whole process, had it been there was no pause they would have cleared 480 by now. |
