Thanks for your words of encouragement. What actually prompted the request for additional medical examinations was their suspicion that I might have a TB, following the result of my first chest x-ray. But I thank God it was negative. The review of my eligibility and background check have started since the second week of August. I really wonder what the heck they're still reviewing till now. Maybe my application has been classified under the complex category. Someone in the past on this thread also had a similar experience, as he had to wait for six solid months before getting a final decision on his application.

The silence is epic indeed! But God no go shame us las las.
I'm also May applicant, my eligibility started second week in September, I'm still on the waiting list. It will end in praise for all of us

Hello everyone. I hope and pray we are all doing good. Please famz, I need your help. I am a may 28th applicant, I have been waiting since then though my background check and eligibility have started for sometime now. I am in my 5th month of waiting. I am really depressed about the whole wait. I haven't done my upfront medicals. I used an agent before I later discovered this thread in a quest for knowledge with regards to Canada visa application, after waiting for two months and no show. I was earlier told by my agent to wait until IRCC request for my medicals but I was later advised by gurus here to go for my upfront medicals as that might be or partly the reason for the delay. I need the house to help me on how to go about the medical appointments and also does anyone have any medical appointment that he/she doesn't want to make use of again ? I greet everyone.
One love..
I am also May applicant and it will be better if u do upfront medical as the things dey go now. Check IOM or Qlife on Google. Those are the recommended hospital for this Canada journey.
It will end in praise

Hello @Teemenzo, the intention here may be good but to what end? I think it will be better not to go into this sort of reviews especially for applications still being reviewed by IRCC as we are not licensed to tell a weak or strong application. We have seen people say they submitted a weak application and God favoured them and also seen strong applications refused. There is already tension from the wait and such reviews can increase the tension on the applicant.

All everyone waiting can do is to keep faith alive while praying for a positive outcome on our applications.
It will end in Praise.
I wanted to say this. Pls let continue praying for everyone instead of the review. A 20yrs old that is just going for a degree what kind of job do we expect from him or her except if he or she is going for secondary degree. I don't understand. Abeg all pastors here we need revival

Iffylove:
Hello everyone...............
Please how should I go about this issue...I contacted some of the MPs in my province and one of them assisted me in contacting IRCC on the status of my application...Below is the mail he sent me...

Good Day,

IRCC says that this file has been identified as needing some additional review. This is fairly normal for applications of this type. They mention that it is still within normal processing times and that part of the additional review will involve some follow-up with the schools.

It is considered complex but is moving forward.

We are not able to expedite the application at this time, as it is well within the time-frame for this type of application.

Should another couple of months elapse without a result, we could take another look.

Kind Regards,
I don't think there is nothing u can do except if u can request for Gcms note to know the kind of additional review they are referring to. My thoughts

I've been unable to reply or comment on nairaland for almost 2 weeks now.

So here is me dropping my testimony of PPR.

I've been a silent follower of this thread and I have gained so much from it

Application date: may 17th

Biometric collection request: May 18th 2021

I did my biometric a week later and IRCC refused to update my biometric ( I was really worried )

July 8th biometric updated to passed ( after raising webform)

Upfront medical: August 5th

Medical passed: August 12

Started raising webform everyday ( there was no change on my eligibility review, background check)

On September 27th elegibility review started and my medical was updated to passed for the second time

Bvl and PPR dropped on September 30th

Just want to God and the good people of nairaland. The wait was very exhausting but still, it's worth it.

For those still waiting for PPR, just chill and believe
We did upfront medical same day and pass same day, make God answer my prayer oo

Many have differed to next year which means they are indirectly for next year quota. So reaching this year quota does not stop them from working. The best they can do is dish out refusals which is not possible.

My thought still remains that they wany to dispense ppr in massive giveaway.

I promised that I’ll share additional details, and here it is.
First off, let me apologise for submitting it a little later than normal, it is due to the peculiar nature of my application, and because of that, this may be a slightly long read.
As we all know, what God cannot do does not exist, and it is Him I give all the glory.
Timeline:
Submission – May 15th
Biometrics Update – May 21st
Medical Request – September 14th
Medical Update – September 16th
PPR – September 21st
BVL – October 1st
LOI – October 5th
You may be wondering if I made mistakes with the dates—far from it! Sequel to my application submission and the updating of the biometrics on May 21st, the long wait started. I continued to follow this thread and many people suggested that those without upfront medical should consider doing one to avoid slowing down their application.
Circa the first week of September, I decided to do the upfront medicals, and picked 14th September. The appointment day came and I went to the screening centre, completed my medicals and headed back home. Some few minutes after settling down, I received an application update email—it turned out to be medical request. Isn’t God wonderful?! I was joyous. Joyous because more often than not—and as we’ve seen here—a medical request indicates a good chance of approval. The doctor at the screening centre already told me that they’ll send my result in 24hours, so I waited until the following day, then I raised a webform, attaching the sheet the medical centre gave me. I also sent an email with the same content to Nairobi and Lagos offices.
Then things began to happen dramatically. I received PPR on 21st September, meanwhile my eligibility started about 3 days prior. I was happy but equally restless. My application status still showed the last update as ‘medical’ and I didn’t receive the typical BVL/Correspondence before the PPR. Anyway, on the 22nd September I sent my Passport to VFS Lagos office (I did biometrics in Lagos), and was delivered to them on the 23rd, then I received further update that it’s been dispatched to the Lagos Office on the same date.
On the 29th, I received another update, this time saying they’ve received my decision envelop, and later documents at Abuja OC. Abuja ke? I was startled. Meanwhile, my application status last update is still showing ‘Medical’ while Final Decision is still ‘Your application is in progress…’ Anyways, I continued to mumble prayers randomly lest village people score a 90+6 mins bullet header.
On 1st October, I received an email of changes to application status, and I remember having palpitations. I managed to open it and it is the BVL. It was truly a relief!
My LOI was sent on October 4th, and I received an update that Passport has been processed and sent to Abuja VAC, followed by series of updates. Long story short, I received my stamped passport this afternoon.

For my application, it’s just GOD. I submitted the most basic of applications.
Documents
The necessary IMM forms
SOP – 4 pages (I honestly think that it is the best of all the documents there—well written)
Unconditional Offer Letter of Admission
Certificates (Birth, First Degree, NYSC, WAEC)
Siblings Birth Certificates
Employment Confirmation Letter
ID Card
CV
Passport Data Page
Sponsor’s Account Statement (Not MBS) – Closing balance of N30m
Sponsor’s Passport
Sponsor’s CAC
Sponsor’s Letter of Introduction and Sponsorship
I didn’t submit any property document; I didn’t submit my personal account statement. My sponsor has a different surname. Yet, God showed up.

NB: First Time Applicant; No Travel History.
God is a merciful God, congratulations once again

I was periodically sending additional document which include Mpower loan financing to let VO know that I have the finance to sustain my study. All emails and webform document I raised showed in the first GCMS note I ordered. I have another GCMS which is yet to drop. From my experience, make sure you are consistent in the list of documents you are submitting and enough fund. Let your SOP and letter of explanation be logical and convincing to ordinary person. Your application is determined by the documents submitted which could either raise suspicion or reinforce honesty. I don’t think they have time to start verifying account balance or your previous school if actually you graduated or not. But make sure you submit original and authentic documents. After submission, larger percentage of the fund in my spouse account were no longer available. Likewise, I have changed the denomination of currency in my investment account because of naira fall cheesy.
I will be applying for my spouse and children afterwards. All the best guys.
It can only be God. Congratulations
