I think it would be good if all African countries have mandatory basic infantry training for all high school graduates as soon as they exit highschool. Just in case
AskiaHarem: President of The United States; D. Trump will stop countries from economically distancing themselves from the US by economically distancing them from the US.
A massive world wide dollar shortage is on its way. Hopefully people are smart enough to buy dollars right now
🇳🇬 The Rise of the Lakurawa Militant Group in Nigeria
🚨 A new militant group, the Lakurawa, has emerged in Nigeria's northwest, particularly in Sokoto and Kebbi states. Linked to jihadist factions in the Sahel, this group is causing alarm with its strict Islamic laws, kidnappings, and attacks on government officials. Initially seen as protectors, their harsh governance turned locals against them.
The Nigerian government has declared Lakurawa a terrorist organization, empowering security forces to dismantle their operations. However, parallels with Boko Haram highlight the need for a balanced approach to address root causes and prevent further destabilization.
Lakurawa’s ties to ISIS in the Sahel add to the regional security crisis, making their swift neutralization critical for Nigeria’s stability.
Fidha254: Most recruits are started off with this weird-looking rifle I don't know the name, before moving to AK then G3 then the other rifles the likes of M4 and SCAR etc. Some units stick with the AK for supply and logistics reasons but there is not inherent shift. At least non that I have seen.
Thank you for the explanation. Seems like Nigeria and S.Africa might have something to learn here.!
Fidha254: The Deputy Commander Kenya Army (D/COMD), Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan, presided over the closing ceremony of the Army Unit Small Team Training (AUSTT), held in Samburu County on 25 September 2024.
The training concluded successfully, with troops demonstrating proficiency in a range of areas including tactical and technical skills, personal and special weapons handling, close-quarter combat, hostage rescue, patrols, small unit tactics, and range work.
Seems like there is a shift from western small arms to Russian supplied small arms in the Kenyan military. I see a lot of pictures with AKs than with M4s. Is there some kind of shift. Will we be seeing T-series tanks and SUs in Kenyan camo?
Fidha254: My thinking is they should also switch to (intelligence led) guerrilla tactics, have a squads of elite recce units numbering like 100 members. Their sole purpose would be to ambush, raid and target gang leaders or large gatherings of gang members preferably in the middle of the night where they would have tactical advantage and then leave right away.
400 police officers is to few a number , therefore, guarding buildings, installations and VIPs should be left to Haitians, MSS sole purpose should be going after gangs. Then the elite unit I talked about should only target high ranking gang members... Then their should be a separate team of detectives and intelligence agents who are looking into disrupting smuggling routes of weapons and drugs from US and other countries.
They should use night vision and drones. Snipe them at night where they won't shot back because they won't know where the shot is from. And FPV drones, especially to kill the leaders
NTSA: Protesters cheer KDF as they patrol Nairobi CBD. Comradeship that was noticed between Gen z and the KDF officers sent shock waves to the narcissistic top dog.KDF were suddenly ordered back to base .Ruto would have easily dethrone himself by letting the military off the barracks.
Kenyas problem, like most of Africa, is that it has a very large population of idle young MEN. imho the only way to deal with this is war, sex, or work. Easiest solution is large public works by the government.
davefurn: What's happening in Kenya btw? Kenyans in the house @ntsa
The Kenyan president thought that his new bff Biden would have his back but now he is looking at possible war crime charges by the ICC (AGAIN) instigated by his new friend
Faithful007: What he stated is not different from AU's position on the conflict. Unless you don't know that AU voted to condemn Russian actions back in 2022.
Meanwhile stop watching clickbaits
Most countries didn't attend. And those who did most sent low ranking officials. He went out of his way to castigate Russia. When there is a new us president the goodies he is getting will stop. Then what
MiddleDimension: Unfortunately, it is air defense systems they are installing. I just heard it on the BBC.
If they are bringing in air defense systems, then one has to ask why air defense systems? Are they bringing them because they are anticipating a major power coming to attack their bases, or they are bringing the air defense systems to protect the regime?
The countries that have bases around Niger with a significantly better airforce than Niger are Algeria and Nigeria. Obviously, Niger faces no threat from Algeria as the Algerians won't be flying down to Niamey any time soon. We also have always had good relations with Niger. But I suspect the junta there feels we may change our mind and decide to insist that they go so in their estimation, they can hold off our soldiers on the ground but since they won't be able to come up with any thing in the air, they need outside help from the Russians. But this is still not plausible, I don't think.
But that question ''why air defense system?'' is a good one that needs to be answered
The main reason for air defence is because the US has a large drone base there. Also they are messing with France, France gets it's uranium from Africa
