Samantha124: I'm gonna speak from an African woman's perspective, especially a South African woman.
There's this stereotype that an African woman is expected to have a curvy figure like a figure 8... For example, as a South African woman, I didn't know that South Africa is considered to have a high number of curvy women until I joined nairaland because it had never came to my attention one bit.
At first I didn't take the comments seriously here on nairaland, until I came across two videos of Nigerian women based here in SA talking of how SA women are gifted with curves and big behinds... I never paid attention to any of those things, maybe because I'm also an SA woman.
So I decided that I was gonna do my own findings, this other time I was at a mall and I decided that I was gonna check my SA ladies out and I was shocked by what I saw, it was like 85% of them were bootylicious... ... But I was like noo, I can't make any conclusions yet because I'm in Durban and maybe it's possible that it's only the Zulu girls who have the booty, so I waited until I go home to Polokwane to check my Sepedi girls out...
Of course I finally did traveled back home and this one time I was at a shopping center with my nephew, we had ordered for some pies and while we were still waiting for our orders, I decided that I'm gonna check out my Sepedi ladies out to confirm what some male nairalanders have been saying... .. I was shocked the second time.. .. I saw Nicki Minaj figures walking around and I couldn't help but wonder to myself how come I didn't notice all these things all my life... Not all of them were curvy, but most of them did have the curves and the booty.
So as an African lady, if you lack self confidence, you might end up having a low self-esteem and using butt pads to look like other African ladies outside.... Even now I'm still shocked by what I saw... ...and in summary, you mean? |
Politics › Re: Electricity Meters Upgrade Won’t Affect Credit Balance — FG by tiswell(m): 4:55pm On Sep 04, 2023 |
jmoore: The meter update, or token identifier (TID) rollover as it is known, is necessary due to a Y2K-style date rollover issue baked into the code of the meters.
When prepaid meters were being designed, the decision was made to attach a section of the 20-digit number that users enter into their prepaid electricity meters to the minute that the token was bought.
This is one way that the tokens are made unique, which is essential as two users cannot be given the same electricity credit token to enter into their meters. This is a functional system, but there is a catch.
There were only so many minutes that could be attached to a token before the number that users entered into their meters became too long. This means that all of the STS-compliant prepaid electricity meters that have been rolled out since 1 January 1993, when prepaid electricity meters began operating, came with a built-in expiry date.
There are a total of 224 minutes that can be attached to a token. That is equal to over 16 million minutes, a little over 279 thousand hours, 11 650 days, or 31.89 years. Counting that forward from 1 January 1993 gets you to 24 November 2024. After this date, prepaid electricity meters will no longer be able to accept new electricity credit tokens as there will no longer be any new minutes that the token can be attached to.
If the prepaid meters are to remain functional beyond this date, they need to be updated you go explain tire |

Most people coming to Onitsha or Anambra south and central senatorial districts will always prefer Asaba to Anambra Airport... political consideration over viability in siting of important projects in Nigeria. Pierocash: This is to tell you how African citizens are fast embracing military juntas who they once detest, but now accepting them back. Because he that is down fears no fall. No military regime can be worse than what we currently have as civilian governments.
The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to elect leaders of our choice, but no, they rig elections, unleash thugs on people they perceive not as their supporters, beat up electorates, snatch ballot boxes even with the help of security agents, write results and announce it. And expect you to accept that as democracy , and tell you it is better than military government. If this is what they call democracy, sane African societies are telling them they will rather accept military government.
If the judiciary does not restore confidence , I am afraid for Nigeria, the whole world may soon read same story on headlines of various media outlets just like Mali, Guinea, Niger, and now Gabon , even though we do not wish for such burkinafaso |
