Politics › Re: APC Raps FG Over Abandonment Of Enugu Coal Deposit by tit(f): 5:19pm On Jul 28, 2014
The neglect of the coal resoucres in Nigeria is one mystery that has baffled me.
All the developed countries in the world generate a substantial amount of electricity from coal.
This industry also employs hundreds of millions of people in US, China and Germany.
In 2008, China was commissioning a 500MW new coal powered plant every month.
But some "policy makers" have sold NIgerians the idea that coal is not good.
That is not "clean".
That it is expensive.
That it is cheaper to use gas.
But where is the gas?
Inaaa?
The owners of the gas do not want anybody to eat their gas again.
They are blowing up the gas-lines and disturbing those exploiting the resource.
With all the environmental damage occasioned by gas/crude activities, is it still clean?

Perhaps it was the divestment of the East that shut down the Enugu coal mines.
The Oji River Thermal station was never rebuilt after the civil war.
That reduced the demand for coal.
When the Nigeria Railway Station which then ran coal powered locomotives went belly up, that meant the end of the Nigerian Coal Corporation as a profitable concern.

How much of the fuel subsidies are the Nigerian Railway Corporation chopping with their diesel powered trains.

Buhari is a killer now.
He killed in 1966 Gowon coup.
He killed during the civil war.
He killed in 1976 Dimka coup.
He killed in 1983 Shagari coup.
He killed in 1984 retroactive laws.

He is a confirmed serial killer.
He can kill himself.

Is this a second bombing at Shoprite Kano?
On the day of the push-truck bomb at a bus-station, there was also a report of a Shoprite bomb.
I did not see any details of that blast.

Was there a bomb blast at Shoprite a few days ago?
Or was that a mistake in information management?
Politics › Re: APC Raps FG Over Abandonment Of Enugu Coal Deposit by tit(f): 8:20am On Jul 28, 2014
United States' coal plants produced 1,517,203 gigawatt hours of electricity, or 37.4 percent of total U.S. electricity.

China is the largest consumer of coal in the world,[1] , generating 1.95 trillion kilowatt-hours per year, or 68.7% of its electricity from coal as of 2006.

This is a winning topic for APC in Enugu, Kogi, Benue and Ebonyi states.

OWERRI—
Ihim, however, confirmed the disparity in the salary of the current lawmakers and the former ones, adding that “during the last administration of Chief Ikedi Ohakim, the House took a loan and it was deducted monthly from the salary of the lawmakers so when we came in, the Clerk of the House was changed and the new one who was ignorant of any such deductions, started paying with the records he met on ground.
“When it was discovered, we quickly wrote the governor who promised to reverse to the constitutional rate and he has started doing that.
“For instance, we were paid normal salary for the month of June. The governor is ready to pay, all he is asking for is a little time because the money is much. It is about N18 million per lawmaker,” Ihim explained.

chronique: @ siriusblack: kudos for a thread like this. I've been following thus thread from day one and I love it. It has given me a different view of what the army is facing upnorth and I commend you galant soldiers for the sacrifices you guys have made for people like us to be able to live in peace and go about our business smoothly. May God bless you all. Hinestly,at some point,I was pondering on quitting my business temporarily,to join the army to end this boko haram mess but I couldn't make the decision cos of those dependent on me. I had to look at the issue of their well being and what would happen to them, should the inevitable occur. However,I'm wondering if the army can make use if some kind of unorthodox method in this war. We all know how deadly the ebola virus is and how fast it kills. Can some of the insurgents in captivity be injected with this virus, and then released to the camps of the boko boys. We use it as a decoy in getting each of the kidnapped girls released. We all know what would likely happen to them in 30 days time. One infected insuregnt alone, can infect the while camp. As they bury the dead, they contact it. This would definitely weaken the fighting capabilities of their foot soldiers.

Onyocha: i don't think Aminu Ogwuche (or whatever his name is) was busy protesting on the streets. and he isn't a mob but a bloodsucker and criminal terrorist. so your analogy doesn't hold water.

i wonder if these same soldiers would shoot at Christian worshipers attending Redeem Christian Church crusades who block roads for many hours along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. apart, the questions that must be investigated is where did the soldiers originate from-from which base-and where were they heading to.

your generalization using a term like "these guys" is very sick to the stomach. these guys here are "Shi'ite Muslims". they have nothing to do with boko haram who are extremist Sunni Muslims called "Wahhabi" or "Salafist". in fact, the two groups do not even see eye to eye. when i first heard that Shi'ites were targted in Zaria, the first thought that came to my mind was that boko haram has struck the Shi'ites on sectarian grounds.
If army ask redeem people to move, they will quietly move.
