It was a night of glitz and glamour at the closing show of the West African Fashion Week which held yesterday at Eko Atlantic City, lagos. The London based Nigerian activist and actor Bisi Alimi who was among the many celebrities that graced the event, opened the show in what was tagged 'Rip The Runway'as he strutted across the runway dressed in Asilarex custom made top. Mercy Aigbe also looked glam as she won the Most Fashionable female celebrity in Nigeria and even though not suprising failed to mention anything about her mairrage but didn't forget to thank her fans and St. Eves, the organizers of the award. Other celebrities that graced the show included I.K Ogbonna and his long time actor buddy, Alex Ekubo, Onyeka Nwelue and Christian Naydum(Mr University Africa-Nigeria 2017)

Miss Ideal Nigeria Finalists Beautiful In Ankara Shoot

The Miss Ideal Nigeria 2017 finalists displayed artistry and creativity in the photoshoot which was recently released.

The headshot African concept was done to promote the rich Africa heritage and showcase the beautiful African princesses that are gunning to become the next Miss Ideal Nigeria.

The event is set hold on the 27th August 2017, at Bespoke event Centre, Lagos where one of the African Queens will walk home with the highly coveted prize.

With the rising increase of violence and threats in Nigeria, the Mr University Africa finalists passed a positive message in a sexy manner.

Star of the Lifetime American Tv series, Project runway and celebrity designer is set to land in Nigeria to judge at the Miss Ideal Nigeria finale slated for the August 27th at Bespoke Event Centre, Lagos.

Latasha who was in season one of the Tv show however became popular when she returned for the Project Runway All Stars. Her design became very impressive that the host,Heidi Klum expressed her willingness to work with her after show.

Tasha is currently the creative director of Heed Magazine and Vonray deaigns. She has worked with the likes of Yazz( Hakeem in Empire), the Cast of the 50 Cents' Power and Nigerian -Beninoise super model Sisco John She revealed this in a post on her instagram page von_of_vonray.

The 2017 Mr and Miss Medlag was held on the 28th July 2017 and had the 200 level Medical student of Unilag crinche the title of the Mr Medlag 2017. Gerald Ijeomah wowed audience when he literally spit fire during his talent show. Ishola Fadiat, another 200 level Medical student of Unilag emerged as the Miss Ideal 2017.

Mr medlag would be representing Unilag at the 2017 Mr University Africa while Faidat would be contesting for the Miss Ideal Nigeria..

There is an increasing number of rape cases in Nigeria. However it's shocking to find out that most rape cases are never reported. Also statistics show that a huge percentage of rape cases especially in minors are pepertrated by relatives or close family friends. Nigeria has a society still placed bulk of the blame on rape victims thereby making it difficult to speak up. Studies also found that the majority (76.1%) of the victims that sought help at a hospital did so within 24 hours of their sexual assault, but forensic evidence was not gathered because rape kits have yet to be introduced. This then makes it difficult to prosecute the perpetrator for lack of evidence.

These have made rape victims silent about their ordeal. Thier silence becomes dangerous as it can lead to depression and phobia. Most rape victims are not even aware when they begin to tow this path.
However these three women have taken the fight against rape and sexual abuse to a new level. Enlightening the public about rape and sexual abuse and harassment, helping victims and working hard to combat this ugly crime in Nigeria.

Aunty Chi has she is fondly called is a life coach, OAP and the producer of 'Teen times with Aunty Chi' on inspiration fm. A victim of rape, she has dedicated much of her life helping victims of abuse and counselling them. Her work earned her an appointment with the Abia State Governor as an SA to the governor on matters related to the girl child. She still shuffles between Lagos and the East and provides life counselling and guidance to youths in general and victims of abuse.

As her name suggests Tonia herself has been a victim of rape and abuse and has gone ahead to turn it around, empower herself and help those who are suffering same fate. She has a support and counselling group for abused and rape survivors where victims come together to talk about their travails, advice and help each other in the process of healing. She is also a certified group counsellor for troubled teens and believes in the power of counselling and collective healing as these helped her too.
