All am reading here is gmb looking for another excuse to hold on to.. |
So op you've never heard of the term dual citizenship... |
For a VP.. Not even a president. When apc cried foul about Gejs visit and that his entourage were causing not too long ago. Now even the vp is now a god if his own. |
Seems like the more things change. The more they remain the same.. Apc stop towing the line or pdp or even worse.... |
NgeneUkwenu:Saraki the senate president's ambition.is causing chaos in the house of reps.. Are you for real? Even a fool knows that this problem is as a result of the desperation of Apc to impose unpopular candidates on the Nigerian people. Even the evil pdp hasnt displayed this level of desperation and autocracy. The real question is why is APC this desperate and why has Lawan and the fraudster lawyer gbajamiala been totally rejectted by their very own colleagues.. |
OLOROGUN John Oguma, JP, is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State. In this interview with select journalists, he spoke on the 2015 elections and other issues of national interests.Excerpts: What is your reaction to the outcome of the 2015 general election? We in PDP abandoned ‘we’ and we were discussing ‘I’ and that is what has brought us now to this level. It is a bitter lesson that we must have to learn from and we are going to start again from the scratch. Because we were busy fighting ourselves, APC was busy rigging the election two years back. This election was actually rigged two years back because we were busy fighting ourselves; this governor is not good, that governor is bad; so it is a bitter lesson to our leaders. Secondly, far as I am concerned, the card reader was a bigger issue than the voting point. In the electoral act, the card reader is not there, but he forced Nigerians to accept it because he knew what he planned. You said APC actually concluded this election about two years ago. Can you substantiate this? The taste of the pudding is in its eating. You cannot tell me that if this arrangement were not in place about two years back, why did Jega refuse to use card reader even for one state? If it were not a script he followed; he should have tested the card reader in the Ekiti or Osun governorship elections before going out to use it in 36 states and the FCT. Do you see the APC really effecting the change they have been proposing given that most of their key men are from PDP? Like I keep telling people, change is not a manifesto. APC has no manifesto; they only just wiped up sentiments, because PDP had been in government for 16 years and then we played into their hands. You know the rich man has more enemies in society than the poor man; that is why they succeeded in whipping up sentiments. They don’t have a manifesto; they only just said they want change. Nigeria as a country only has one major source of income which is oil. Today, the Americans are fighting on how the oil price can come down. It is affecting all the oil exporting countries but APC is saying it was because Jonathan did not govern well that the oil price came down and you know that 80% of Nigerians are unlettered; even those of them who claim to be graduates don’t read newspapers. With so many members of the PDP now defecting to APC, do you see PDP becoming a strong opposition to APC? As far as I am concerned, those who are defecting are men of little faith. For 16 years, the South-West has been in opposition apart from the last tenure of Obasanjo that PDP was able to win Osun, Oyo and Ogun. Apart from those four years, the remaining 12 years, they were in opposition. So it embarrasses me when I see some PDP members, some of them who have been governors under the party decamping to APC just because APC won election yesterday. They are men of little faith and that is why I like what the National Chairman of APC, Oyegun told them that as they are coming, they will join the queue. What some of them are doing by decamping to APC, is a suicide mission. How do you react to the emergence of Dr. Okowa as governor of Delta State against the script of the Urhobo Progressive Union? We the Urhobos are getting the whole thing wrong. There is no miracle in Okowa’s victory; it is a result of hard work. Granted, we the Urhobos are more, but collectively the Delta South and Delta North put together are more than the Urhobos with their voting strength. We the Urhobos don’t believe in going out for registration. It is not enough to say we have population; what is our voting strength? The man who is asking for equity must come with a clean hand. We got it all wrong when we said the Urhobos will never allow an Itsekiri man to become governor. They went on air that we should vote for Urhobo candidate. On December 10, 2006, we went for primary in Ogwashi-Uku and Delta South with three ethnic groups were able to come together and produced one candidate, Dr, Emmanuel Uduaghan and Delta North with diverse interest did about the same thing but Urhobo with eight local government areas came with eleven aspirants so we lost woefully. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/jega-used-card-reader-to-finish-us-in-pdp-oguma/ |
[quote author=honeric01 post=34488017]After locking people out of the house for 48hrs? so you dont believe he could have arranged the whole set up? remember they are both politicians.[/quotle] Well thats another possible scenario.. |
What's your point. Isn't it obvious it was a mistake. Was he looking at his certificate, so how would he have ascertained that his certificate wasn't held properly. It's simply the photographer's mistake... Btw since Fayemi's 'wisdom' couldn't translate to development and better standard of living for the people dont blame them for trying out stomach infrastructure. At least that may give them better life. If it doesnt by 2018, then they can try other parties or so called slogans. Thats the beauty of democracy |
The picture he released may be before the looting took place and may not be in same rooms that the were looted. Without bias Wike conducted journalists round the government house and they saw things for themselves. I think that's more convincing. |
charlesucheh:Okay, sorry for laughing but there is nothing like go aheads.. Its go ahead or goes ahead. |
GOAHEADS!!!.... Lmao!!!! He even put the 'aheads' in capital letters. boss, i think her dressing should be the least of your worries.. |

Dear Governor Ambode Your Excellency, Please permit me to start by congratulating you on your victory at the polls on the platform of APC and subsequent inauguration as the 14th Governor of Lagos State. I have no doubt in my mind that your deserved victory can be attributed to the enormous support from the youths albeit other factors. Without cutting corners, the purpose of this letter is to bring to your notice the plight of the undergraduates in your state, our state. Before I continue, permit me to tell you a true story. Your Excellency, during the contest for the Mr. University Africa 2014, which by the grace of God I emerged winner. At the camp, we were asked to write an essay on a simple yet intricate topic ‘write on one major legacy that Awolowo is immortalized for’. Delegates from schools in different parts of the continent kept writing on his free and quality education policy. One thing that struck me inwardly was that this legacy he fought for, stood by, accomplished--this same legacy that most people from your age bracket benefitted from. This legacy is no more. The Awoists have destroyed his legacy. Your Excellency what is happening in the Lagos State University calls for serious concern and your immediate attention. How can a school deliver on quality education when students spend more time outside the classroom than inside it? No educational institution can achieve an international standard with such laze-affair treatment towards its students and responsibilities. The staff-management squabbles have long taken a tool on the quality of education being delivered. Your Excellency there is an urgent need for you wade into the matter and get it resolved once and for all. I humbly suggest that the conclave system for election of new popes in the Catholic Church can be borrowed. This situation has reached its peak. The only way out of the endless meetings that usually end in deadlock is for all the actors and stakeholders (including the student body) to converge in a neutral place where no one leaves till a sustainable agreement is reached. It is pertinent for me to use this opportunity to draw your mind on the long debated issue of free tuition in Nigeria tertiary schools. We wouldn’t be asking for too much if we request that you at least reduce the school fees to the barest minimum. We appreciate the stance that the former governor took in reducing the school fees from the outrageous 180,000 to 75,000, this is laudable but we believe there is more to be done. The notion that quality education cannot be achieved with free tuition is totally false. Countries such as Brazil, Finland, Singapore, Sweden, Norway, Argentina and even Libya all provide free and quality education to its citizens in their tertiary institutions. Ironically some of these countries offer free education to the brightest of our citizens, only to absorb them into their work force. Talk about brain drain. The best way a government can invest is through its educational system. I believe that the current culture, ethics and ethnos surrounding our educational structure has to be looked into. No educational institution should rely on school fees as a main source of revenue. A university can generate revenues through other means such as: 1) Companies and individuals can endow classrooms and courses 2) Each faculty can create a revenue generating net-profit continuing education programs 3) Creating a University community blog and running ads on it. The likes of linda Ikeji and Stella dimokokorkus are living proves of how much this can generate for the institution. 4) Research grant funds from notable organizations 5) Publish books written by lecturers and earn a stipulated percentage profit. 6) Most importantly run a transparent and cost efficient management. As the late Nelson Mandela once said ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. As a man who ran under the change mantra, free quality education should be your priority because only through this can our youths be equipped to be the leaders, builders and bastion of the society which we crave for. The youths are not the leaders of tomorrow, they are the leaders of today. The future is here, the future has begun and we are already late. Please accept the assurances of my highest regards. Yours faithfully, Yemi Cregx (Mr. University Africa 2014) www.facebook.com/mrvarsitynigeria |
#1, igbos share some cultural similarities with the jews. That doesnt mean they are jewish people. Have u heard of the myth of Eri landing in Nri.. Btw, lets face it. The yoruba version of how they became is also a myth.if you are a christian, muslim or atheist then you should regard all the other creation version(yoruba included) as myth.. #2 like you said, success can be defined in many ways and is quite subjective. So you cant say its a myth for any tribe to say they are the most successful. Yorubas and even hausas can make that claim. Btw, success of a group of persons isnt how much their richest is worth. It could be the number of reach people they got. Eg a tribe can have 3 billionairs, 20 millionares and the other will have no billionaire but 50 millionaires. Its all subjective.btw, i think.Soyinka is.more successful than Adenuga even though the later is richer #3 first of all check the margin that Ambode won with. Its a pretty thin margin. Also keep in mind that some igbos still voted for him and some Yorubas actually voted for JK. couple this with the fact that there was a low voters turn out and the issue of low pvc distribution. You would have to agree that the issue of igbo's number in Lagos cant be decided using election as a yardstick. So going by the definition of a myth, you cant call this a myth because they is no evidence to prove or disprove that notion. Btw i also do not support the notion #4 since Biafra has not been created nor tried out, you cant call that a myth. No one knows if Igbos would fare better or not. Biafra as being pushed by massob compromises of five eastern states and not the SS states. Dont also forget that Abia, Imo and Anambra has oil. Dont also forget that many nations are better off than Nigeria even though they dont have oil. So oil resources cant be a yardstick for measuring success or would be success of a Nation.. A myth is defined as a cultural believe or believes that has been proven not to be true. The truth is you are the one with the myth that all igbos or igbos in general hold those four views. The only myth heree is the one in the topic heading |
Dude Buhari is richer than Shehu Shagari and Ernest Shonekan.. Get your facts straight. |
