SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS FROM THE BLAST SITE AT AKURE

From the Blast site at Akure. My Research group carried out a detailed analysis of the impact site. A circular impact crater with 21m diameter and 7.8m depth was found which suggest a natural phenomenal. Water was found oozing out from the edges of the crater. A preliminary insitu vibration, noise, seismicity, water analysis, radioactivity studies, rock and soil investigation were carried out. Our findings suggest that the impact of the blasting covers 1km radius of the surroundings of the crater. No evidence of fire or Burning of anything was found within the vicinity. No evidence of radioactivity radiation was found within the crater and immediate vicinity. The field evidence point to a conclusion that A METEORIC FROM AN ASTEROID BELT THAT TRAVELS AT A GREAT SPEED FROM SPACE IMPACTED THE LOCATION AT AN ANGLE OF 43 degrees created an ejecta at South-Western part. No evidence of buried vehicle, buried ordinance or IED was found. However, crack opening that vary in thickness from 3mm to 4metres occurs on the wall of most of the buildings but not at the base of the buildings. Also, foreign rocks and strange metallic objects we're found within the crater. Most of the destruction occurs on top and roof/ceilings of the buildings. Thank you, Professor Adepelumi A. The story in that link happened 49yrs ago..
Those days, dynamites were transported in their explosive form..
These days, dynamites are transported in bags in very nonexplosive forms.. If they catch fire, they would just speedily burn out without exploding.

All these analysis is meaningless. You are talking about high velocity/low velocity. What do you think dynamites meant for blasting hard rocks will do? these things aren't toys.
Dynamites are very high explosives that's why they are widely used in mining.

The explosion caused by one stick of dynamite is really massive. Imagine what happens when a truck loaded with hundreds of sticks catches fire.

So, your brain is now telling you that all those hundreds of sticks would catch the fire all at once and make a big BOOOMM.??

It was a truck loaded with dynamites. If it was a terror attack as you claim, will a serious terrorist strike a lonely road in the outskirts of town around 1am, far away from occupied houses, where there is no possibility of casualties?

The centre of the impact crater is off the said lonely road.. Thus, they clearly parked off the road and detonated the bomb.. Are you not suspecting that they were testing a huge explosive?? Who said anything about terror attack here?

Secondly you claimed the keep my number service is not well publicized I disagree with that, you can walk into any of their offices and make enquiries or call their helpdesk. Since you are good in researches, I want you to do a research on the popularity of the Keep my number services and publish it on Nairaland or any other media you prefer and bring it to my attention.
You can sample any range of random respondents.
Get the following information from them..
1. Ask them what they would probably do to their sim-cards and phone numbers if they happen to get an invitation to travel abroad and stay for up to five years.
2. Ask them if they know about anything called Recycling of Numbers.
3. Then, ask them if they know about the Keep My Number Services..

You would be most highly disappointed..
The result you would get will be that only about 0.007% of the Nigerian population knows about the Keep My Number service, whereas, only about 4% may know about recycling of numbers.
Well publicised my foot!! And you still want me to enter their offices to have it publicised on my individual head.. Is that how you people do your own publicising in your firm??

Not only MTN, I recently bought an Airtel Sim and I have been getting calls from people. My new sim was previously used by a 'Cray fish' seller.. I get about 10 calls everyday from people trying to order Cray fish or has made payments to the account. I am tired already, I made a complaint to Airtel. The only thing I got was the policy states that when a sim is inactive for 180 days then they can sell it to another person.
Just imagine what could happen to the customers money if I am heartless!

My guy ke! The elderly man was a bank customer. By the time we called the "thief", he started crying on the phone . He didn't even have the liver for what he was doing.

We just advised the customer to change the number for his account. This was about 5 years ago. So this recycling number problem didn't just start.

This is just one of the rampant problems caused by recycling.
And the truth is, most people won't just want trouble.
They would just forgive the “thief” and move on.

For all the countries I've been, there's no difference between the way MTN recycle inactive phone lines in Nigeria and the way its done elsewhere. As a matter of fact, Nigeria is not the only country where MTN does business. I am on a business trip outside Nigeria as I write, and I have two MTN lines right now previously owned my a native here. And yes, I received his/her bank alert few days ago but which I quickly deleted.

Every GSM company every place I know, recycle inactive numbers. Its not only done in Nigeria.

Is Buhari's daughter the only person in Nigeria who've ever dumped a phone line before? How about millions of other Nigerians who have used several phone lines in the past but which now belong to someone else?

The problem is not MTN but because you're ruled by a tyrant who can imprison you up for 10 weeks because you innocently purchased a phone line previously used by his daughter. When a country has a bad leader, the people live in fear. You jailed someone because he bought a phone line formerly used by your daughter?!!. I just can't get my head around this. This type of news is unheard of even in North Korea.

Let the courts decide that one.. Even though we don't trust them either.

I bought a new SIM card some months ago I wanted to top up airtime for internet data ,so I dial GTB ussd code from my sim 2 instead of my sim 1 .
To my greatest suprise the transaction was successful and I ended up buy airtime from the previous owner of the new line I recently bought, I have to visit GTB to deactivate the line from that account

Maybe, Nigeria is not yet ready for all the lots of products and services which they are making available to the vulnerable Nigerians.

The problem here is our Old cargo and primitive ones called NCC , they have messed up this country hence MTN can take advantage

A nation of 200Mil without database has the power to reassign subscriber identification number without any consultation either from criminal dept or society..

NCC is a disgrace and full of old fools that are in the system without basic Technology know how..

decatalyst is right on this one. Majority of Nigerians don't read instructions on the products or service they buy. Secondly the regulatory commission are helping matters, rather they charge huge amount to issue new number series. The service providers had no choice than to re issue old lines since it cost more to get new number series (0803,0806, etc).

And now, we are not finding any of it funny any longer..
Recycling may be a standard international practice,, but it is really posing great problems to the Nigerian Users.

You can just imagine that...
What if this guy tried to use some mobile ussd codes to load airtime of up to N100,000 or even more, without using PINS or Passwords; then, by the time it would be discovered, he would be wanted for fraud.
But they were the ones that first put the poor guy into serious temptation.

And the main problem is that majority of Nigerias don't read at all or just read to get the headlines.

In the sim pack you bought, there are terms and conditions...most Nigerians don't even know they are not the owner of these numbers...just like the prepaid meter you use your money to buy!

But how will you know this? You don't read at all! And the relevant government agencies are not doing enough! I wonder what NOA is there for. NCC is really trying...doing radio sensitization programmes...but majority of the educated illiterates are on the internet and barely get the drift.

It is not only about MTN, but it's what's applicable across board. No telco will leave a line for over one year without a customer using it and they continue to pay taxes on it. I cannot work that way fa.

Lots of Nigerians are having lots of problems with their newly bought lines which still had lots and lots to do with their former owners, and you are here talking about Terms and Conditions..
There are real problems here, and you are there quoting some silly T&C ideals..

@Poster, recycling of inactive SIM is a general rule not limited to just MTN.
You may address your letter to NCC. The telecoms are regulated by NCC.
