do we have technocrats in that sector as politicians? Even if we have some that are engineers, are they active politicians in their constituency and parties to the extent they can taken as a Federal minister?

i dont know how logical it sounds to use Engr. Makoju as the minister of Power because of his know-how and not because of his active status in PDP. will our political machinery allows such system to work? i dont think so hence the reason for the DG to be the man in charge

However, these ministers are supposed to have advisers who are knowledgeable in the field to pass across the ministers/Presidencys vision to the DG. Your abstraction theory can only work in a totalitarian government where the president or the prime minister wields power with reckless abandon. Democracy has got some price to pay especially in a 3rd world country like ours where the best brains are not particularly partisan politicians. Our problems lie with Governments insincerity in implementing their vision for the sector. This is not about ministerial irresponsibilities. The executive inertia in this country is so ridiculous u begin to wonder if we're destined never to fulfil our political manifestoes
