hahaha. . . still waiting for Obertan to come to the fore. . . after hearing all sorts of nonsense from Sauron and tkb. . . or is there anything Sauron & tkb know that Laurent Blanc doesnt know about Obertan?
what nonsense are you talking about?
Obertan will surely play well when his time come

i hope u dont expect him to dislodge Valencia and Nani just like tht; his time will come

and talking about Laurent Blanc; i dont get the logic

How come CR7s coach in Lisbon sold him to SAF? cos i cant seem to undertstand you
CR7 left Lisbon at about the same age Obertan left Blanc, so what is it?

Jarus:
I have never been so confident of Eagles in recent time as I am of them beating the Chipolopolo later today.

I don't know why I'm this convinced but there is a Yoruba proverb that says 'ko kin tan l'ara omo oba ko maku dansaki'(literally, no matter how lowly a prince becomes, there will still be some honour). Eagles have never lost to a Grade B team in Nations cup in recent memory, despite their usual fumbling and wobbling. We have only lost to Cameroun(2000), Senegal(2002), Morocco, Tunisia(2004), CIV92006), CIV, Ghana(2008) and Egypt(2010), who are all Grade A teams in Africa. A Benin, Mozambique, Zambia, Gabon, Guinea, no matter how in-form will only scare us, not to the extent of eliminating us. Says another Yoruba proverb, ''t'omode basoogun, egbe e l'onfinbaja' (literally, if a child does a charm, he uses it on his mate). I don't think about this match, I think about our match against Ghana, especially how embarrassing it will be if a second string Ghanaian team, without key players, beat us. While that cannot be rule out, I honestly think Eagles are in final already.
hmmm
lets see

Although I will give credit to the coach for the win, I think CIV fell because of poor and unprofessional play.

Poor marking (CBs), lack of taking reponsibility and waiting for team-mates to do stuff (midfielders), poor communications to let team-mates know what you expect of them.

Ask Jaybee, I (in most cases) will be telling fellow defenders on what needs to be done and who is doing it. grin
cool they made all those schoolboi errors
my point is, ordinarilly they dont make such mistakes but the Algerians made them look like Botswana

Thats ma point. We need to start playing to our strength and playing to exploit the opponents weaknesses

whts ur word for the game against Zambia?
are we winning?

too bad i wont see the game

It's only through Mistakes an opponent can score, without mistakes, matches won't end, but then humans are prone to mistakes no matter how professional you think you are.
my sentiments too

Sagamite:
Mistakes + lack of ability. smiley

The Mozambique keeper was fat, e no go fit dive. grin
so what brought about the mistakes from the Ivoriens
i think its purely the ingenuity of the Algiers coach. The Ivoriens were thoroughly beaten. save for their profligacy in front of goal, the game shda ended b4 regulation time

@Topic
after the lull in activities cos of the past festive period, im back on the streets "shopping" for money for ma clients

For us in the sell side, its a harrowing experience trying to get funds for peeps; I can only thank God that some are still interested in giving money to those with the best value proposition, i swear its tough trying to close a $ 20million dollar deal now. I can remember 08 when 20million dollars deals wouldnt take 8 weeks to close, but now, na wa!!! my offshore "waka" for smart money has started again this 2010.

off to Dakar again and will be back hopefully with all matter and terms agreed. need that closed for my 2010 bonus
This year must surely be mine

@tkb,

Honestly, I think in this case, it had less to do with coaching and more to do with players letting themselves down. Just like TT (and Adeleye to a lesser extent) against Tunisia.

Professionals of that quality should not be making such mistake at this kind of crucial tournaments.
i agree

but i honestly think any team/player will make mistakes when forced to do so

or what do u think?
SportsRe: Africa Nations Cup Angola 2010. The Official Thread by tkb417(m): 12:48pm On Jan 25, 2010
Coaches are supposed to make the opponents make mistakes

the reason we have a coach on the sidelines is to maximise the opponents weaknesses for his teams good

If the Algerian coach saw how he could wreck havoc to the Ivorien team, then he deserves all the plaudits

Its unsual to see the Ivoriens making such egregious mistakes in a match

Thats wht we want our Amodu to do

we dont wanna be at the receiving end always, we would like to exploit weaknesses b4 they find ours to exploit

Saga, thats just the game of footie

Its like chess, a game of wit. If our coach cannot do that, then too bad

to be fair to him, he hasnt done badly
