The Holyspirit is that which was promised for everyone, now there are about 12gifts of the holyspirit in which the gift of tongues is among. If I may ask did you receive all there other gifts of the Holyspirit written in Corinthians too?

Is it a must for everyone to speak in tongues, if yes is your answer then this is why we have people forcing and learning it. Infact we see people just saying a sentence in English and the last two words, they will end it with tongues, then follows a shipping laughter like it's a joke to them.

Personally I believe you don't have to speak in tongues for you to commune deeply with God sir/ma. When we turn it into a Law then it becomes a problem. Because you must have it then you must learn it.

Cause personally for me, my life experienced a turn around when I receive the gift, cause I found more joy and connection to God, than when I didn't have the gift.
