By pg do you mean masters or actual pdg?

If you're going for pdg, that would mean you'll be going to a college, most colleges don't require ielts, for admission into their programs. What you'll do is visit, cic.gc.ca check for designated learning institutions, narrow your search to colleges in a particular province, check if they have your proposed course of study and the requirements. I'm going for pdg myself and I didn't need to write ielts. What is needed for most pdg programs are, statement of result, transcript,ssce result, CV and sometimes letter of intent.

Lets not try to dissuade anyone from pursuing their dreams here. NYSC certificate present or not doesnt guarantee the success of an application or not... Even full tuition payment doesnt how much more NYSC certificate. Peeps here time and again have gotten TRV without adding any of their academic documentation.

About the wait for passport request... Nawa for CIC oh. Their way nor de always gel along all lines. As for me I did my medicals on a Wednesday and by the next Monday my medical status changed to "Passed" with the passport request coming in same time. I submitted my passport last Friday at vfs and got a mail today (Tuesday) that it is ready for collection.

Thanks jare, Nysc dsnt have a serious impact on ones app, I'm also serving ATM, batch b, if I get my Trv today, I'll leave tmrw..

Btw I envy you, I'm still here waiting on medical call.. A big Congratulations to you..

well,sum peepz myt hv gotten trv to go for masters witout nysc or wrkin experience but u cnt compare mrA n B togeda...travel history and credibility cud go a lng way to help sum1 gets TRV....but it's beta to play safe and tink less bout comparison...US embassy always hold symposium Erry wednesday for peepz vying for study visa..I remembered d lady stressed much bout prior working experience for an applicant that wanna go for masters,its a gud home ties n which is plausible for real...for u to hv wrked wit d degree earned in nija,u myt wanna improve ur experience and qualification by going abroad to study.

Funny enough, I don't think work experience is an home tie, its more like purpose of visit ( meaning your current occupation tallies with what your proposed course of study) work experience can serve as home ties if you have a study leave letter or letter of employment

if it isn't related to her proposed course of study she should forget adding it...read my sentence in b/w lines I stated it there "IF"it's a bit a related..."and mind u there is no other way she can tackle the issue of employment situation if she dosn't include her NYSC details...even if she gets upfront letter of employment offer,she still needs to add her NYSC experience,cos so far that's the only work experience she has for now.

Peeps don't serve and get their trv, without work experience, that there is the point I'm trying to make. Nysc or not there should be ways to tackle the issue of work experience sir.

What if her CDs or ppa isn't related to her intended course of study? Won't it further complicate matters for her, there should be other ways to tackle it asides uaing nysc. I agree with her adding sponsors landed properties.. BTW opsynusy, you didn't list the documents you submitted alongside

@opsynusy:NOT submitting your NYSC could have impacted negatively on your application if you where going for further studies based in part on your Nigerian 1st degree credentials. Defer as appropriate and re-fire. Success I yours the next time (amen)

Pls this is not true, nysc did not impact negatively in the application, I know peeps that applied without nysc certificate.. What if her ppa isn't related to what she wants to study? Nysc certificate is not one of the compulsory documents for applying for trv

Length of proposed stay and purpose of visit - can always be tackled with a great sop, they're not same but related, in the sop you state why you want to study in Canada, what you want to study, how long it will take , its relationship to what you studied in uni since you have no work experience, its benefit to your home country n all

Current employment situation - when did you graduate, what did you state that you're doing currently? Explain in sop too

Personal assets and financial status, the gurus go put mouth for this one, but I believe if you ain't working you really have no ish with this. A lot of peeps here that graduated freshly didnt submit their soa

@showfz, count the cost, if you still wanna go ahead, please do. I spoke with an Immigration lawyer myself, he said he won 90% of his appeals. Appealing can not be as costly as re-applying as I see it. Infact, the man would charge me #73k for everything, but seeing I could do it myself, I change my mind.

Sorry quick 1. I'm thinking of going through the Appeal process. Met with an immigration lawyer(a friend) and having gone through the docs I submitted, he said all I submitted were more than enough to grant me TRV. Pls house wots the appeal process like?

Please its better you just cover loop holes and reapply, it's expensive nah, the lawyer will charge a lot, and from what I've read on here, pple hardly appeal, they just reapply

My passport is virgin, and will be expiring in May 2016. Please I want to know if I can apply for a 2 years visa bearing in mind that this is almost 2015 already?. I kind of think I will need a new passport. Am I wrong? @tnuola

Apply for Trv with it. you can apply for a new one when you get to Canada, you can't apply for a new one yet, its still valid for a year ,I think u can only apply for a new one when its less than 6months
