Politics / Re: PHOTOS: Heavy Security At Governor Ajimobi's Residence As He Shuts Schools by toba1909(m): 10:33pm On Jun 06, 2016
360metrosports:
Heavy Security operatives were seen at the Oyo state governor,Ajimobi's street at Oluyole estate in Ibadan this afternoon after he decided to shut all secondary schools in the state after the peaceful protest.
Students in Oyo State, Monday took to the streets protesting and vandalising property over the move by the state government to involve the private sector in public school administration.
The students from various schools across the state went round the city to register their displeasure over the government’s plan to introduce Public-Private Partnership in public schools.
Reacting to the protests and destruction of public property by students in the state, the Oyo State government condemned strongly the violent protest.
The government further ordered the immediate shutdown of all primary and secondary schools in the state to avoid any further breach of peace.

If what I see in the pics is what you tagged as heavy security presence, this is what his Oluyole Residence have always looked like since he became governor. Sometimes even more, so this isn't heavy my brother.

Ajimobi should resign if he can't rule the state again. In fact, what's the governor smoking self? He's owing workers for six good months and still came up with a silly plan to sell off all government schools.

Sell Government schools how?
Do you read the policy and government stand before accepting to be cowled by mischief makers?
Must the NLC result to violence, disrupting a stakeholders meeting called to that effect in the first instance?

Mind you, Ajimobi isn't the only governor owing salaries, there are many states owing more than he owed.
Politics / Re: Oyo Workers Begin Indefinite Strike On Tuesday By NAN | 06 June 2016 | by toba1909(m): 10:20pm On Jun 06, 2016
This isn't a salary issue, but a misconception on the side of the State NLC. If the government actually invited them to the Stakeholders meeting on the Education policy, they are not supposed to disrupt the meeting, they should have listened to government side of the policy and tender their own side also rather than turning it into violence and disrupting the meeting.
It's a thing of shame to witness.

From Mile 2, join a bus going to Iyana-Iba/LASU then drop at Iyana-Iba motor park. Take a bus going to Iyana-Ipaja at the motor park, then drop at the last motor park(Iyana Ipaja). Join another bus going to Sango/Agbado Ijaiye, then drop at Kola Bus-Stop. Cross to the other side of the highway, then fly a bike to AIT.

Nairaland / General / Osun Sacks Striking Doctors. by toba1909(m): 1:59pm On Feb 19, 2016
Osun State Government has technically sacked the doctors in its employ who have been on strike since September 28th 2015.

The Chairman, Special Committee on Health,  Dr. Simon Afolayan, announced at a press conference in Osogbo on Friday that the state considered that the striking doctors had resigned their appointments.
He explained that the doctors had not been sacked because no letter of sack was issued to any of them but they ( striking doctors) were  deemed to resign their appointments because of their refusal to work for more than six months.
According to him,  the doctors started their strike on April 2, 2015.
However, members  of the Osun State Association of Medical and Dental Officers under the Hospitals Management Board and Association of Resident Doctors at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo embarked on an indefinite strike on  September 28, 2015 because  of payment of half salaries and poor condition of service.
Afolayan said, ” Doctors are parts of the civil service and by the civil service rule you cannot abandon your duty post for six months  without reason and not face the consequences. If you do so, it is deemed that you have resigned your appointment. This rule has taken effect.”

Afolayan stated that those who still wanted  to work with the government had been given a fresh opportunity.
He said the state could not afford to pay the doctors’ salaries in full because of the financial  crisis facing the state and the nation.
According to him,  out of about 40,000 workforce in the state civil service, doctors working with the Osun State Hospitals Management Board are less were less than 100.
He described the demands of the doctors as impossible, saying there would be anarchy in the state if the government decided to pay full salaries to doctors and continue to pay other civil servants half salaries.
He said the state doctors did not sack any of the doctors but the doctors  had decided to discontinue rendering their services by abandoning their duties for over six months.
It will be recalled that Governor Rauf Aregbesola had in January threatened to implement the civil service rule against  the doctors.
The state government, after this, advertised the positions of the doctors and Afolayan stated that some doctors had applied for the vacant positions.

Where was he received if I may ask?
Akala is yet to make his move to APC public, he only informed his followers of it today; and that picture was during Ajimobi daughter's wedding recently held in Ibadan.

mazeltov:
I have been contemplating about this issue for so time now. No doubt and beyond any reasonable and unreasonable doubt, these two men (Babatunde Raji Fashola and Gov. Ayodele Fayose ) are political gladiators who have made so many remarkable impact in our political dispensation. Fashola was a former governor of Lagos state whose wide knowledge and experience has transformed Lagos state and Fayose on the other hand is a political giant in South west and Nigeria at large, truth be told ,Fayose is the only opposition that always give Apc a run for their money.
Talk of popularity? Yes they are both popular in Nigeria but I can't say who is more popular but above all, they are from the same region of the country. Before we continue, I don't want this thread to create political spark and should be devoid of insults so try as mush as possible to show your best behaviour and maturity.
Now the question is: Regardless of any political party or affiliation - if Fashola and Fayose are Presented to contest for Presidential election in 2019 without any running mate, who do you think will win grin grin

Haba!
What manner of comparison is this?
BRF don suffer o, to have been compared with a nitwit loudspeaker like Fayose.

Abeg compare Fayose and Akala next time, this one na wrong code jare.

I was in Ibadan in the weekend and it is saddening that my Sister who works for Emmanuel Alayande College of Education Oyo, begged me for money for the first time in a very looong time, though reading her emotions, she was not bitter at the Government, guess she understood the issue at stake. Her name starts with O, she has not been paid September salary as of yesterday November 2,
It is foolish for anyone to quickly become an attack dog for Ajimobi because he doesnt really need it, he has class.
And the problem is a general problem. I pray we come out of this conundrum as soon as possible.

I stand to be corrected and quoted anywhere, the Oyo State Government has paid September salaries, and some have received alert for October. Those pending are expecting October salary and not September. We need not lie always, to drag the Government in the mud, when there are issues that needed to be addressed.

tit:

so Oyo state is living from hand-to-mouth!
see what APC has reduced the ancient and proud people of Oyo to:

And what has GEJ/PDP turned this Nigeria into?

Make your verification across Oyo State Civil Service, to know which government treated them well and cares for them more. The present government is the first in the history of the state paid them 13th month salary for 3 consecutive years now and also provided a Free Bus Shuttle for them.

Try to have facts before coming on platforms like this to discredit a particular party.
