I'm so sorry about your loss. I'm certain you'll come back stronger
millieademi:
Hi, guys. How has the week been?

Sorry but this is an official announcement that Ocean of Secrets will be on an indefinite hold. I was mugged yesterday and my phone was stolen. My manuscript is gone and I have no means of continuing for now. I'm still in shock and bingeing on Sia's Big Girls Cry.

Once, I get a new phone I'll continue.

I didn't want to be like I'm online but not updating.

Love you, peeps.

Hi Millie (since I don't know your beautiful name). Thanks for this beautiful story. I know it can be really challenging trying to make the story as real as possible by doing as much research as you can. I just want you to know there are people who really appreciate the lengths you go. Please don't be angry with yourself at all.
I know inspiration doesn't come at all times, so take your time and live life as you write.

As per my retort to someone's comment.

Writing these prison scenes is really arduous. I am trying real hard to picture what a Nigerian prison looks like. Who knows next year I might sign up for my faculty's HR trip to Nigerian prisons and maybe suggest a trip to a female prison.

If we want I can just fast forward to the part where things pick up again.

I'm angry with myself already. Please don't put me down more.

Thank you.

Thanks so much for this. Please is there also an individual interview?
simplebb:
The assessment centre was invented as a replacement for the conventional interview method, The conventional interview method has its loopholes in that candidates could have crammed the answers before coming for the session.

The assessment centre provides a real life scenario where the employer gets to see prospective employees in action. The activities most times includes a psychometric test, numerical test, essay writing, group discussion, personal presentation etc. For UBN, it is personal presentation and group discussion.

Tips for success. I have attended three AC at three top notch organizations and have mastered some techniques that have worked so well for me.

For the personal presentation,
1. You can learn how to make use of SWOT to analyze case study, this will really help newbie who will be analyzing case studies for the first time. So as much as you can, work on your comprehension skills, analytical skills (problem solving and decision making) and usage of time, this is key in this stage, If you are sound in this, you will do well. You won't have the whole time in the world, learn to use the given time judiciously. Read, study and understand your case study and write out the salient points. You must be practical in your solutions and ensure they are well thought of as such see the case study as real life, like this is happening in reality.

2. After the analysis comes the presentation, for this you need to work well with time usage too, effective communication and presentation skills (you can work on this before that day) will help a lot, be confident and speak assertively, share your findings to the panel, the problems (root causes) and the solutions (recommendations). Ensure your confidence level is high and just be yourself. Also questions will be asked, you must be able to think strategically and come up with meaningful answers and that's why sound understanding of the case study is paramount.

After that comes the group discussion,

In this case you will have another case study to deal with. Just like the first one, study it critically and understand it, take note also of the salient points and also what you are meant to do as a group.

During discussion, be outspoken and contribute positively (you don't need to talk ten times to be preferred, just ensure your contributions are meaningful, I only spoke thrice, and I still remembered at one other organization it was just twice so no be about who talk pass but I didn't say you should go and be dumb, we need to hear from you as we know you are smart, also learnt to work collaboratively with your group (teamwork is being looked out for here, UBN ain't employing a loner who doesn't value his/her team) so don't talk down on others, don't attack anyone even if they don't share your own views and don't force your points down the throat of everyone.

All in all, eat well, refresh yourself, look good, dress well, sleep well (not like you shouldn't prepare oooo lol), arrive early, be your best, act your best and do your best, and also before and after pray well.

I wish you all the best.

If I have any further additions, I will modify this comment.

Remember there is no competition on the extra mile (learnt this at UBN).

All the best.

I picked Audit.
Wrote the test first week in August
Well, I know that the guys who wrote the test last week of August and chose MC have been invited for Assessment Centre. You should probably call one of the HR numbers on the invitation mail. They'll definitely attend to you

Tomiwaa:
How Long do I have to wait for the assessment Center Invitation. I did my documentation since the middle of August and since then. I have not heard anything. Is there anyone in the same shoes?
It depends on the department you chose. Which one did you pick?
And when did you write the test?

To clear doubts, I took part in the paid trial last week, but didn't go past the first day. I was paid #3000 yesterday for my efforts. This is not a scam. I can attest to that.

Hi everyone. I'm a recent graduate of Chemical engineering from OAU, and seeing that the next NYSC batch is probably in November, I need a job/internship related closely or just a little to my course of study, preferably in Lagos. I'm looking for somewhere I can stay till NYSC, or even one where I can serve. I'll appreciate any suggestions and help. Thank you in advance

Hi gurus. please I use an HP 650 core i3 6gb ram laptop. Any time I play PES on it while charging, it heats up pretty quick and shuts down as thermal overheating safeguard. The cooling fan seems to be rolling well. It also sometimes happens when I browse via USB tethering. What do I do please?
