tobiojo2002: One needs to be careful with these hosp, they overcharge at times and they also do not give you full details so they can gve one ridiculous bills Hello Guys, I ended up paying $11,200 which is still expensive but better than the initial bill of over 15,000 My bill was 5,500 and baby:s was 5,700. thank God i spent 1 night in the hops otherwise i would have had to settle an extra 4,000. Other than the bill which was high, i"ve so far not enjoyed the service, Baby's circumcision was not done right, i have a stich thread sticking out of me, i would need to get a makeover for myself and baby when we get bak to 9ja, (Thank God we have insurane in 9ja). Initially i got a bill of 9,700 for baby, and i questioned this and disccovered that baby was charged 5,800 for 1 night spent in NICU................... How did he end up in NICU ,...... I requested to be discharged the next day after delivery but was informed that baby could not be discharged cos he had to stay for 48hrs even though he was fine and did not have any compliation,i was okay with baby staying, i left the ward and spent the night in the lobby, so i could be avialable to feed baby, was a really tiring exprience, i was fine but still in pain but was also trying to be prudent. the normal charge ought to be 2,200 per night but we got a bill for 5,800 for the second night, which made me question them on why the extra 3,600, they claimed that it was because baby spent the night in NICU and not the nursery, hummm.......i made my point that, 1, i asked if there was a nursery but was told no.(apparently the nurse either told a lie or was high when i asked her) 2,baby was a perfectly healthy boy that did not need any special care, this information was avialable to the hospital staff , whoever that was, but it was deicided that he should go to NICU instead of the nursery, i wont be paying for the in efficiency of ur staff. it took a week to get that extra charged reversed, and the 5% discount which was promised was now declined , they claimed that they reduced the bill by 3,600, but i stated clearly that this is not recucing the bill , you have just given me the correct quote and i got my discount by force. SO PLEASE PEEPS STAY AWAY FROM QUEENS HOSPITAL, THEY ARE ROGUES.............TOO EXPENSIVE |

Adeeva: @babababyI'm still on negotiation with the hosp, I got a bill of abt 15k, tho there was an overbilling forr the baby, suuggest u make further enquiries on a cheaper hosp, Queens hosp is wherew I gave birth and frankly speaking its quite expensive.I'll update on the final payment. I'm still waiting for baby's birth certificate , so no hurry for me. |

Mrs Bee: I completely agree they are not good with the circumcision thing, My son's was not done well and i 'm still batteling a ridiculous bill, and i dont even want them touching him again as they may want to increase the charges, i will have to re-do the circumcision when i get back to Nigeria. If you can avoit it please do. |

One needs to be careful with these hosp, they overcharge at times and they also do not give you full details so they can gve one ridiculous bills One of the Financial counselors suggested something to me so I could reduce the bill.she says I can apply for medicaid for the baby and myself , medic aid pays the hospital and. I can refund medicaid the actual amount paid by them, cos she hinted me that medicaid has a standard amount they pay for mother and baby which is lower than the rate the hospital will quote for self paying patients. Has anyone heard of this or know anyone who has done ths before? |

hardeymijuh: @ tobiojo2002 i did not have issuesat POE i was 37 wks i had a really huge tummy , which i disguised by buying a very large size bra and padding this up, this made me look really busty and i wore a free flowing regular top.i looked like i was jusy 24 wks after all the disguise The immigration officer asked if i was preg , i said yes and that was all, but go with enough cash , cos i guess he dnt make any issue out of the preg cos of the cash i decleared i had. |

Hello Everyone, i"m back,Had a babyboy, Normal delivery Thank God, Well things are not as they seem here, Apparently the 8k quote i got was for mother alone, baby's bill is not inclusive, the charges was supposedto be 4k per night for 2 nights, and baby is 2.2k for 2nights also. i had the baby very early on tuesday morning did not take any medcation for pain and spent just one night, by the next morning, i was fine. the Dr assigned to me was a Nigerian Woman, i asked her if i could be discharged since i was fine and baby also, so i could save the cost for the second night. she advised that since i dnt have any complication i could sign a consent form that wanted to be discharged which i did for myself. I was told baby had to stay at the hospital for at least 48 hrs to test for jaundice. baby spent the night the hosp. Hoping all of this will help reduce the bill, i found out from patient account that as at the morning of discharge for baby. which was after 2nights, mother's bill was $4,950 and baby bill was about 10k.(this i will still argueout) Baby had no complication ooooo, Baby was being breastfed by me all through the night as i spent the night in the lobby to ensure that i was there to feed him. I met another nurse, a nigerian, In fact she was the midwife that delivered me, i got her phone number and gave her a call, she advised that i wait till i get the final bill and then come back to the hosp with the amount i intend to pay in cash, that most hosp wont refuse cash settlement instead of insurance or medicaid. I'll keep y'all posted, as i'm expecting the final before the end of next week, For now i'm just trying to rest and bond with new born. |

ringofGod: @tobiojo ... MMA does not send you...however some airline are notorious for turning people back like British airways if you are going through London.. i hear Delta is the easiest to travel with. Try and take a long a medical report that shows it is safe for you to fly. That might be tough if you want to wait till week 37 but find out what the airline you are using spe cifies as safe to fly when pregnant.. I booked deLta I actually checked their policy. There is no restriction for preg women .I hope and pray it. All works out well @everyone Does anybod have any experience ttravelling that late in pregnancy please. Share ur exprience |

ringofGod: ok.. quite a bit of questions..i hope i answer them all... This is my first time in the US...i have actually been denied a visa before... so it doesnt matter whether ure a frequent traveller or not.. it would help if you are obviously but it ddnt stop them from giving me..as for how much to be in your account.. i would estimate about 1.5 - 2m... its just an estimate to show them that you are well able to cover for travel expenses, delivery costs etc. Thanks, your Post has been really insighting, But i'd like to know what to expect at immIgration, cos i will be having my baby soon and i intend to travel the last 3 weeks to delivery cos of my Job and all, i will try to hide the Prego, but i will own up if i'm asked,i have the funds, thAtS settled , BUT WHAT DO I EXPECT AT MMA and ATLANTA IMMIGRATION, I'LL BE HAVING THE BABY IN NY, thats where i have friends. |
