Newbie2024: Yes, an amount equivalent to 2–3 months of her income is ideal. Anything more than that may raise concerns. thank you very much. How soon can we reapply though? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by tobyemmanuel(m): 8:26pm On Apr 30 |
Newbie2024: The visa was refused because the officer was not satisfied that your wife's financial situation in Nigeria supports the trip or proves you would return after your visit.
Your salary is ₦190,000 monthly, with about ₦80,750 left after expenses, but you planned to spend ₦550,000 for a 7-day trip. This seemed too high and raised doubts.
Although you are sponsoring her, their focus is mainly on the applicant's financial situation and were not convinced that your wife would return to Nigeria after the exam.
The best option here is to improve her finance and reapply. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the funds available for your trip should ideally not exceed 2–3 months of your normal income; otherwise, it may raise concerns with the visa officer. Best of luck 🤞 thank you very much. I understand. In the field requesting how much she would spend, we put ₦550,000, do you think it would have helped if she put a lower figure? Actually, I planned to sponsor all her expenses and it was stated. Also, is there any time restriction for reapplication? How early can we reapply? Thank you again chief |

Politics › Introducing Lastma’s “see Something, Say Something” by tobyemmanuel(op): 7:38pm On Jul 10, 2024 |
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the adoption of Whistle – Nigeria’s leading civic tech app, to revolutionize how Lagosians report traffic violations and improve road safety. The platform which combines crowdsourcing with smart technology is the driving force behind the recently launched “See Something, Say Something” initiative. What This Means for You, the Responsible Road User: * Effortless Reporting: Witness a dangerous driver, a reckless maneuver, a stalled vehicle causing congestion, or a vehicle with potentially fraudulent documents? Whistle empowers you to be part of the solution. Report these issues in seconds using the Whistle app, with visual evidence for clear documentation. * Real-Time Response: Gone are the days of worrying if your report gets lost in the shuffle. Your reports are sent directly to LASTMA officials stationed closest to the reported incident. This ensures a swift and targeted response, minimizing delays and maximizing impact. * Visible Deterrence: Forget chasing down offenders! LASTMA, upon verifying the reported violation, will issue a warning to the owner of the reported vehicle. This serves as a reminder of the offense committed and the associated fine they must pay. * Building a Safer Community: By reviving the culture of accountability, Whistle fosters responsible driving in Lagos, where residents work together to promote safe and orderly roads for everyone. The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, on Tuesday, formally introduced the features of the Whistle app during launch event held at the agency’s headquarters in Oshodi. Hon. Giwa said, “The Whistle App is aimed towards enhancing the role of LASTMA officials within the ambit of the law and its purpose is for Lagosians to ensure safety by utilising it to report accidents, dangerous driving, traffic violations and bad road users. When you see these things, you can capture them and report them to us using the app. “The Whistle app is available for download on Google Play Store and with the app, citizens can record traffic and other related incidents and send them to us. We have created a data centre here and our officers here will respond to these traffic infractions and LASTMA personnel will be deployed to the site.” he added What More Can You Do with Whistle? Be the Eyes and Ears for Safety: * Dangerous Vehicles: See a rickety truck with faulty brakes or a car swerving erratically? Whistle allows you to report dangerous vehicles directly to enforcement agents, potentially saving lives and preventing accidents. * Report Accident: Witness an accident? Don’t wait! Report it through Whistle to get immediate support from enforcement agents. This can expedite assistance for victims and help clear the scene quickly, minimizing traffic disruption. * Traffic Congestion: Stuck in a gridlock? Use Whistle to inform enforcement agents about congested areas. This allows them to take necessary actions to improve traffic flow and get you back on your journey faster. Enhance Accountability and Order: * Traffic Violations: Witness a driver breaking the rules? Report it through Whistle! Capture photo or video evidence of the violation and let the authorities handle it. * Vehicle Paperwork: Spot a vehicle with expired registration or suspicious documentation? Whistle allows you to flag such vehicles and notify authorities for potential fines or further investigation. Nairaland General › LASTMA Is Introducing Ticket Alert by tobyemmanuel(op): 9:32pm On Feb 13, 2024*. Modified: 8:19am On Feb 14, 2024 |
LASTMA is introducing Ticket Alert - a solution to drive the voluntary compliance of motorists with traffic laws, while ensuring a hassle-free experience on Lagos roads. LASTMA is now equipped with modern technology to assist in identifying traffic violators, making it practically impossible to escape when you have pending fines on traffic offences such as driving with expired vehicle license, roadworthiness or insurance, among other offences. Once your vehicle is captured by the app and registers you as an offender with unsettled fines as a result of traffic violation, you simply get a yellow sticker on your vehicle as a reminder to settle any outstanding fines within a 30-day period. Note that failure to do so after the expiration of the 30 days ultimatum will result in your vehicle being impounded. For more information visit https://www.paylasg.ng. You can check for outstanding fines using your plate number and make payment. LASTMA's Ticket Alert is your friendly signal to settle up and enjoy a stress-free ride. Join us in this road safety revolution! Together, let's drive responsibly.

brightalo1010: My girlfriend traveled to the USA last year 26th 2021, her story has been positive.
Before you talk negative about usa the best advice should be to tell people the secrets of how to survive there which is simply getting work permit and other necessary documents and more importantly SSN with all these you're the one to be doing shakara for work.
If you ever mention to her and her 3 other siblings that usa is hard they'll stone you even security work they're doing as they're waiting for school results is paying better,
The point is that lazy people should avoid going to AMERICA, People with no proper contact should stay off usa,
She sent 1k usd for me despite not staying upto a year there.

rentAcock: You hustled in Nigeria and succeeded. You are on an exponential trajectory in Nigeria as it is, whatever you do, do no relocate to the U.S.
You will be miserable there. You may end up working at Mcdonald serving food or end up as a security guard or at the very best a taxi driver. Your U.S based wife may talk down on you because she feels like she brought you to the U.S and also because she will likely be the bread winner of the house. Nigerians in the U.S especially in Houston, have the highest divorce rate and domestic homicide rate than anyone else. And that's because a a majority of the U.S based Nigerian women are nurses making good money while their husbands are minimum wage earners doing menial jobs. They feel like they can talk to their husbands anyhow and one day the husband reacts and kills the woman.
IF you are into IT, you can work remotely right here in Nigeria. I know a couple friends working for Amazon Web Services from Nigeria, they get paid in dollars and they earn nothing less than $300,000 annually by working for different companies. I wish you all the best, but don't say you weren't warned. You are not making any point despite this long post o. Hope you know sha? : |

crossfm: This is very tragic.
The get rich syndrome, without having any useful thing doing will be the bane of this country.
Technical schools and vocational centres should be open in most places by the government. Opening of new universities should be stopped and priorities given to technical and vocational schools.
I mean standard schools and if possible grants or loans with a flexible repayable plans given to graduand's of such institutions. See without a good economy, all this schools and centres you recommended won't work. When I say good economy, I mean policies, financial, innovative and infrastructure. When people can't buy services, then services will close down. When people can't buy goods, the manufacturer will fold up. Good economy "gives people the ability to buy". Imagine 30k monthly salary can't even provide enough food monthly, who will buy services when they haven't paid rent or school fees or transport bills. |
