Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Fix Npower January Payment And Npower October Payment Issues by Tochukwu30(m): 3:48pm On May 04
I have been receiving my pay up until the one for February. I just checked my dashboard this morning and it showed "invalid account".

I feel it's quite strange since I haven't had any issue receiving previous payments.

ezenwaez:

If you are an Npower batch c stream 1 volunteer and you are having the following payment issues on your Npower january payment and Npower october payment such as:

1) payment failed
2) payment processing for long
3) Invalid account response
4) transaction failed
5) transfer unsuccessful
6) pending payment issues
7) failed payment status
cool blank payroll status
9) paid on payment status but not credited issues

The above payment issues can be resolved by:

1) sending your Npower ID and payment status attached to Instagram through Nasims handle at nasims.ng, just download the Instagram app and search for nasims.ng and click on message.

2) sending your Npower ID and payment status attached to Instagram through Npower handle at Npower_ng, just download the Instagram app and search for Npower_ng and click on message.

3) by phone conversation with Npower customer care agent on 092203102 or 018888148 and sending in your Npower ID after making your complain.

4) By sending in your payment statement status and your Npower ID and your issues to support.npower@nasims.gov.ng

Although some issues like 2, 8 and 9 have to do with network issues during payments, for payments issues regarding "paid" but not credited, please attach your bank statement of account and payment status from nasims when making your complain to Npower.

The latest update this week is that interswitch told me the money has been reversed from wema bank. According to them the reversal happened on March 31. They also told me that there have been a correspondence with access bank on the issue and that access bank is working towards returning the money to my account.

From what I was told, it's the "settlement team" of access bank that handles cases like this. So far access bank has confirmed this but I don't know why it is taking them so long to return the money to my account.

Yesterday I called access bank and they told me they are still working on it. For how long?? I was even told to submit a proof of the transaction and I did that by submitting the receipt of transaction.

It's just tough and crazy the kind of things that happens in this country.

I will advise that you keep communicating with all the parties involved. Don't be silent. If you're, your money will just go like that. They don't even give you updates on the issue until you contact them. It's just so poor.

Your bank and the one interswitch generated for you are they the same?? (I.e gtb bank)

Entrepreneurrr:

How fa? Any update.
I did as you said, bur Interswitch said the money is not with them since the account generated for me is a gtbank account. That I should contact my bank (gtbank).
So mail my bank, and they give me 5-7 business days, that they will make investigation and if found failed they will refund me. They supposed to get back to me yesterday but they did not, I have to call them and they said they have escalated the issue, i should wait for another 1-2 days.

Meanwhile jumia have collected 3 different bank account that they will make refund but to no avail.

The network is quite unstable and fluctuates a lot. Sometimes it can just go off for days.

There's nothing really special it's just what the company I work for uses as their remote code repository. Github and gitlab are just the same thing and serves the purpose serving code on the cloud and also for collaboration.

For CI/CD on github you use github actions.

I have seen lots of people moving to Gitlab. Why choose Gitlab over GitHub?

I don't think this will work here. I'm based in aba. I haven't seen or heard of their presence here.

Thanks for your input all the same

Please fellow software developers in the house what's the best Internet subscription plan that can serve efficiently monthly and also cost effective??

At the moment I subscribe to Airtel using mifi. I have observed that my data exhausts so fast. It's as if the thing is been "swallowed". Even 20 GB cannot last for two weeks. Two weeks estimation is even based on the fact I have to do mtn midnight plan to conserve data on airtel.

I'm a backend dev who does a bit of DevOps too as I get to work a lot with docker and also doing CI/CD with gitlab.

Abeg make una help me. Thanks for your suggestions and inputs.

Interswitch told me that it's been worked on and that wema bank will reverse the money. So at the moment I'm waiting for a reversal from wema bank.

Contact interswitch directly and explain your case to them either by mail or call.

That means I transferred money into a virtual account and not a real account??

It's my first experience and usually I pay on delivery but that option is no longer available.

abhosts:
When making orders on Nigerian sites, never pay into virtually generated bank accounts. If an error occurs, the process of reversal is quite complex.
Business / Re: Jumia Nigeria Wants To Embezzle My Money Almost 600k by Tochukwu30(m): 2:11pm On Mar 20
I might just consider doing this but I just feel jumia should do this since I have done my part by contacting my bank. I feel jumia aren't been transparent with me.

ritmek:

I would advise you write to Quickteller and share the transaction details with them to avoid this back and forth with Jumia because obviously funds didn’t get to Jumia, it just might be stuck at Quickteller’s end

I will say to a good degree. You know trust is quite expensive in this country. He knows better not to mess up because it is a cooperate account. I will not give up till I get back my money.

I have all the essential details and evidences with respect to this transaction.

yanabasee:

How well do you trust your account officer?

They have a way of converting such transfer into a domicile account... And if you give up on fighting for it, thy go home with it ...
Business / Re: Jumia Nigeria Wants To Embezzle My Money Almost 600k by Tochukwu30(m): 1:14pm On Mar 20
Obviously it was. The account I made the transfer to was quickteller business payment domiciled at wema bank. Writing to them is what jumia should do.

The only thing they keep telling me is to return to my bank. All I'm interested in now is for them to tell what the situation is at wema bank. That is, whether the got into the account or not.

ritmek:
From your message, I guess Quickteller was the payment gateway, maybe you should send an email to Quickteller.

I don't know how to purchase items properly on platforms like amazon, bestbuy, eBay etc. I happy to learn.

From your experience you narrated it just shows that they have a bad reputation. It's the first time I took the risk of paying before delivery and this is because that option no longer exist on their platform.

There are times I will be speaking to their agents and they will just hang the call on me. It's been a terrible ordeal for me.

immortalcrown:
You no see Amazon. You have not learnt your lesson.

My Experience, all in the year 2020
Jumia canceled my order after 3 weeks. The ordered item cost about 350k and I paid the money the moment I placed the order. They disappointed me after 3 weeks. Their reason was that the item could not be shipped into Nigeria because of Covid-19 lockdown. But before I placed the order, I saw available for delivery on the product details.

After the cancellation, I gave Jumia the benefit of doubt by ordering another item that cost about 450k. This item also has, in its description, available for delivery. . This time around, I called Jumia customer-care line to confirm that the item was really available for delivery. The agent who spoke with me assured me the product was already in Nigeria for delivery once I pay for it. I paid the money and waited for another 3 weeks. Eventually, Jumia disappointed me again and gave the same reason (not shipped to Nigeria because of the lockdown). This clearly shows that either the agent who claimed the item was available was ignorant of the item condition or the agent was a trained scammer.

The one that made me write Jumia off was when I bought a mouse from the Jumia. I ordered an invisible-optical mouse. Jumia delivered the mouse and invisible optical is carved on the mouse. CARVED, not even a sticker. But the mouse was not invisible optical when I turned it on. Invisible optical means the mouse will not show any light. This makes the battery last up to a year or more if you do not use the mouse for heavy applications like Maya, Blenda and Coreldraw. The one Jumia gave me shows light even as invisible optical is carved on the mouse. My younger brother has the same brand and model of mouse and his own does not show any light. The design, label and shape are the same. But the one Jumia delivered shows light while my brothers own does not show any light.

I spent time and money calling Jumia for about more than a week before Jumia took the mouse. And Jumia did not return my money immediately. The money went through Jumia wallet and took at least three working days before I could withdraw the money from the wallet.

It's not my responsibility to contact wema bank on this issue. It's jumia's responsibility. I have told them I will involve cbn's consumer protection department on this issue. I will do anything within the law to get my money back.

I mean the money didn't mysteriously disappear.

yanabasee:
You should go to Wema bank and lodge your complain as well... Seek yo see their boss and asked that they confirm the account name and the details of their transactions from your account. Even tho this might be very difficult for them to listen.

Write CBN.
Business / Re: Jumia Nigeria Wants To Embezzle My Money Almost 600k by Tochukwu30(m): 12:55pm On Mar 20
I have sent them the transaction reference. As a matter of fact the reference code is part of the details in the receipt of transfer.

portplus:
Demand for the transaction reference from your bank and send same to Jumia.
You will definitely get a refund.
Business / Re: Jumia Nigeria Wants To Embezzle My Money Almost 600k by Tochukwu30(m): 12:54pm On Mar 20
That's what I'm asking from them. They need to tell me what the situation is with wema bank. So far they have said absolutely nothing. Access bank already told me that the transfer was successful. Jumia haven't provided me with anything.

Just yesterday evening I got a call from one of their agents telling me to go back to the bank and fill a reversal form again. I told her no that I have already done that. I told her to report to their finance team that I need to know if they have contacted wema bank to verify if the money got to the account and with evidence too. Nothing so far. It's quite sad.

Loewe:

Jumia is a reputable shopping website. I reckon it's more of a bank issue than any other thing. If the bank is yet to give them a report, they may not be able to do much.

I suggest you exercise some patience while still maintaining communication. They will resolve it eventually.
Business / Jumia Nigeria Wants To Embezzle My Money Almost 600k by Tochukwu30(m): 12:30pm On Mar 20
On Friday March 11, 2022 I placed an order on jumia worth N598,557. This order was placed in the early hours of Friday before 7am. Unfortunately the confirmation mail I got was a cancellation of the order that payment was not received. I had actually made a transfer using my mobile banking app (access bank) to a wema bank account with account name quickteller business payment. This was the account that came up when I checked out on jumia to make payment.

I waited till 8am to call jumia and tell them what just happened. I also reached out to them through their twitter handles. They requested for the receipt of transfer which I provided. I was also told to go to my bank to verify if the transfer was successful. I quickly reached out to my account officer who ran a check on my account and confirmed that the transfer was successful. I told jumia the response from my account officer and they said they would relay the issue to their finance team for proper investigation.

On Tuesday March 15, 2022 I got a mail from them after investigations. I was told to return to my bank and lodge a complaint and as well fill a form for reversal. The resolution of the complaint from my bank after two days was that the transfer was successful. I was told to tell jumia that they should contact wema bank to verify the transfer.

The problem is that in all my conversations and series of calls with jumia they have vehemently dodged questions related to wema bank. A couple of their customer care agents I spoke with confirmed that the account belongs to them. Jumia haven't provided me with any evidence to show that they didn't receive the money. They haven't told me if they contacted wema bank or not. This all smells of foul play.

It's more than a week now and they are still with my money. I have shown them receipt, my statement of account up until Tuesday last week and also the image of what happened on checkout on their platform.

They have told me they will carry out another investigation. I have told them I need evidences and especially if they have contacted wema bank. I also told them that definitely I will not relent until I get my money back. I'm also considering legal action. Hopefully it doesn't get to that but I'm ready for anything.

Please I'm seeking for your thoughts and ideas on how to resolve this.

Yeah I'm.

I'm also happy to announce that I got the money earlier today.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas and inputs here and there. I totally appreciate.

Yes I am. Are you too ?

I hope you found a solution to the Swift transfer.

Business / Re: Swift Money Transfer by Tochukwu30(m): 12:58pm On Mar 08
Thanks for the link. The sender wanted to use SWIFT because it's more secured. He didn't want to use these other alternatives. You know we Nigerians have a "reputation". Thanks all the same.

HassieMalcomson:
SWIFT transfers are not quick as PayPal and Payoneer transfers. Usually, they take 1-4 working days to send SWIFT payments into your account. Or even in some cases, it can take more time because banks check anti-fraud and anti-money laundering procedures in this regard. In many situations, they also ask for proof of income from the receiver. However, you should also follow these guides https://digitalcruch.com/swift-code/ about inserting SWIFT code correctly because a mistake of a single digit could also create a mishap.

If I share my personal experience then I got a payment from a Swiss client through SWIFT last year but my bank didn't approve it because they were not satisfied with provided documents. They returned it to the sender's account. I think instead of SWIFT, you should try PayPal, Stripe or even Wise. Yes, they can link your bank account with these platforms and can smoothly receive your international payments.

Thanks a lot bro. I will get to the root of it and I'm optimistic it will turn out well.

Okay go to your bank or call them first. The money might be hanging somewhere and just waiting for them to have it deposited.

Wowww!! I will check right away. It's a new domiciliary account though but I don't think there is any problem with it. These are the details I submitted:

* My account number
* my account name
* my bank name
* access bank swift code.

Too long. You should have received it.

These are the possible problems;

Recheck your info,

Check if your account have a limit .

These are the 2 problems you can encounter.

I use access bank. A transfer was initiated on Friday from abroad but I haven't received the money yet that's why I wanted to learn from the experiences of others.

callme9mm:
I received them via my Fidelity Bank.

I have done such transactions about 3 times, and they all came in under 24hrs.

Are you encountering any problem with swift transfer?

Less than 24hrs. It shouldn’t be more than 24hrs. I received mine under an hour.
