Politics › Buhari Too Frail To Rule, Says Fayose by tociano009(op): 2:38am On Feb 24, 2015
The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said that the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) is too frail to rule the country.

According to him, Buhari is in the United Kingdom for other purposes other than political tour even as he stressed that Buhari cannot win the presidential election.

Fayose, who said this in Abuja on Monday at a press briefing, added that Buhari spoke in an interview with foreign journalists in a suite at the Transcorps Hilton Hotel, Abuja, and not the UK as being portrayed by his campaigners.

He alleged that the level of falsehood upon which the candidature of Buhari was being projected to Nigerians “exposes the deceitful nature of the opposition and qualifies the APC candidate for failure at the polls come March 28.

“I don’t have anything against the North. I also don’t have anything against General Buhari.

“But one thing is certain. The General is too weak, too frail to be President.

“He can’t even be the governor of his state let alone being the President of this country.”

He said it was because of the alleged frail health of Buhari that he brought journalists to the venue of the briefing.

But the Buhari Support Organisation has said that Fayose needs medical help to cure him of his negative obsession with Buhari.

The Director of Media and Information Technology of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, who trained as a medical doctor, said this in response to Fayose’s claim that Buhari was too frail to govern Nigeria.

Madukwe said, “The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, is suffering from what we call in medicine, ‘obsessive compulsive disorder’ based on an appetite and a wish to see General Muhammadu Buhari dead.

“He is a psychopath whose obsession has altered his sense of rational analysis of situations whenever he hears the name Buhari. Unfortunately, he is not God and does not have control of the life of our revered General.

“Fayose should go back home and prepare to defend himself in the case of the massive rigging that led to the stolen mandate he currently enjoys and leave our General alone.”

But while trying to establish his point that Buhari’s health was failing, Fayose sat on the three-seater sofa which he said was the replica of the one Buhari sat on in the picture of the alleged interview.

He insisted that the table lamp and the cupboard in the hotel also matched those Buhari sat on during the said interview in London.

Pointing at the setting of the suit 880 at the Hilton, Fayose said, “I brought you here to see for yourself the setting of the room in the Hilton where the picture was taken.”

Politics › Buhari, APC, Move Against Anti-pvc Suit by tociano009(op): 1:46am On Feb 24, 2015
A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday made the All Progressives Congress, its presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and the Peoples Democratic Party, defendants in a suit opposing the use of Permanent Voter Cards and card readers for the conduct of the forthcoming general elections.

Justice Abdulkadir Abdul-Kafarati also ordered a civil society, the Fiscal and Civil Rights Enlightenment Foundation, joined as a defendant in the suit.

With Buhari, the APC, the PDP and the Fiscal and Civil Rights Enlightenment Foundation now joined as parties, there are now six defendants in the suit.

The suit with number FHC/ABJ/CS/06/2015, had the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Attorney-General of the Federation as the original defendants.

The court made the order joining the new defendants in the suit following their separate applications on Wednesday.

The plaintiff, the Society for Advancement and Protection of Public Rights, represented by O. J. Nnadi (SAN), did not oppose the applications.

The judge ordered the plaintiff to amend its originating summons to reflect the names of Buhari, the APC, the PDP and the Fiscal and Civil Rights Enlightenment Foundation as the third to the sixth defendants in the suit.

The plaintiff is, by the suit, seeking to restrain INEC from using the PVC and card readers for the forthcoming polls on the grounds that they were likely to lead to the disenfranchisement of eligible voters.

The polls are scheduled to hold on March 28 and April 11, 2015.

The plaintiff argued that since INEC had not engaged in trial application of the PVC and card readers, they could not guarantee their effectiveness.

The group therefore wants the court to among others, direct INEC to revert to the use of TVCs which had been tested during previous elections.

The APC had in its affidavit filed in support of its application seeking to be joined as a co-defendant, stated that it intended to join the suit and oppose the plaintiff’s suit.

The party also said that it intended to challenge the plaintiff’s locus standi to institute the suit as it was not a registered voter.

The APC, represented by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), attached to the affidavit a copy of its proposed defence (counter affidavit) with which it intended to oppose the plaintiff’s suit.

The affidavit dated February 9, 2015, read in part, “That the crux of the reliefs being sought by the plaintiff herein is to prevent the exclusive use of the Permanent Voter Card for the conduct of the elections.

“That the use of the Permanent Voter Card is to ensure a hitch-free and fair election and to prevent most importantly, rigging of the election.

“That the applicant (APC) intends to oppose the suit as presently constituted and filed by the plaintiff because its grant would jeopardise the preparations of the applicant towards the 2015 general elections.”

“That applicant has a good and justiciable defence against the suit.”

PASTED AS I RECEIVED IT NOW
A BOMBSHELL!! – ANOTHER HORROR STORY FROM THE INTELLIGENCE FILES!!

My people, because of the tireless and fearless work that we do at CUPS, which involves enlightening our people on how to save themselves from corruption, misrule, tyranny, occupation, and genocide, we get a lot of leaked information from informants in Nigeria. Some of it is excellent, and some of it is just recycled conspiracy ideas on Facebook. Meanwhile we at CUPS have near perfected ways of verifying leaked information sent to us using different techniques, including the use of digital forensics, which is one of my fields of expertise as a Computer Security Research Scientist. We therefore don't publish any story unless be really believe there are elements of truth in it.

The story below reached us this morning (23/02/2015). It came from one of our reliable sources in Nigeria. It is one of the most disturbing stories that we have yet received. Read it and make your own judgement!

“I have it on a strong ground that there is a plan to capture a Shekau before the week to elections. And the captured Shekau who is currently undergoing training on what to say and do will mention Buhari as one of their core sponsors. The target according to the source is to discourage Southern voters and the Northern Christians (from liking Buhari). The confession is alleged to be so perfectly planned that Buhari may even be arrested and even those who love him may think twice (about his sincerity). The sum of 4.5 billion Naira is purportedly budgeted. The purpose of this budget I am told is for bribing some Northern clerics so when the time comes, they will pacify their followers (to reject Buhari as he is BoKo Haram sponsor). There will purportedly be audio of phone calls (between Buhari and the Boko Haram leaders). Buhari will not be able to sue the government since it will be an arranged confession of a captured terrorist. Now, I am not saying this (leak) is true. But knowing how desperate these PDP people are, they can do just anything to get Buhari out of the way. Honestly, I am deeply, deeply, deeply, worried. In fact, I am troubled. Kindly share this and let the world know about this evil machination of the PDP before it is too late. Kindly do it. The person who gave me this information is an Intelligence officer with the Army. He looks worried too.”

May God save Nigeria and Nigerians. Amen.

Politics › Tompolo ‘contract': NIMASA Threatens To Sue APC by tociano009(op): 10:27pm On Feb 22, 2015
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency on Sunday gave the All Progressives Congress 72 hours to retract some alleged malicious statements made by the party against the agency.

The Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Patrick Akpobolokemi, gave the ultimatum at a news conference on Sunday in Lagos.

Akpobolokemi said if the APC failed to tender an apology in 72 hours, the agency would adopt legitimate and lawful means to seek redress.

The director-general said APC alleged that NIMASA contracted the nation’s maritime security to a private firm, claimed to be owned by Mr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

The DG said, “I hereby unequivocally state that this accusation is false. NIMASA neither entered into any such security contract with any private company nor with Tompolo.

“Let me reiterate here that we have instructed our solicitors to give our accusers the opportunity of retracting their unfounded allegations, failing which we shall take all necessary steps to seek redress.

“The agency entered into partnership with a competent Nigerian maritime company; Global West Vessels Specialist Limited to provide its platforms to patrol the coastline.

“With the involvement of Global West, the Public Private Partnership arrangement now boasts of various categories of boats, contrary to what obtained in the past.

“The PPP project has also made it possible for the agency to provide suitable platforms to the relevant security agencies collaborating with us to fight piracy and other sundry security breaches in our waters.

“Memoranda of Understanding have been signed and are being implemented between the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force and the NIMASA.

“Contrary to widespread speculation, Global West did not buy warships for NIMASA.”

He explained that the MoU with the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force had enhanced water patrol and aerial surveillance of Nigeria’s maritime domain.

The director-general also described as worrisome recent reports that the agency was sponsoring adverse documentary against the APC ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

He denied the allegations and appealed to politicians to leave the agency alone.

Politics › Give Evidence Of Victories Over B’haram, BBOG Tells Military by tociano009(op): 9:55pm On Feb 22, 2015
The #BringBackOurGirls coalition has demanded verifiable evidence of victories over Boko Haram insurgents from the military authorities, noting that accurate reporting in times of war is a critical tool for winning battles.

The group said the military should provide photos, videos and other evidences to show that it was making progress in the war against terrorism in the country.

The #BBOG, in a statement to mark the second week of its ‘sixweekscountdown’ to the war against terrorism and rescue of the Chibok schoolgirls, on Sunday in Abuja, said the Federal Government and the military should know that they have credibility deficit due to misinformation in the past.

The statement read by Tunji Olanrewaju on behalf of the BBOG Coordinator, Oby Ezekwesili, also flayed what it called the conflicting signals on the renewed offensive in the northeast, noting that some Presidential aides discountenanced a statement credited to President Goodluck Jonathan that normalcy may be restored in the area within six weeks.

It said, “All reportage of the Nigerian military’s triumphs currently quotes a single source— the defence spokesman, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade. The news reports refer to the Spokesperson’s press releases and not on the strength of any independently verified information or direct media investigation.

“We therefore demand that the Defense Headquarters takes immediate steps to provide, alongside its releases, as much on the ground evidence of its battlefront actions and successes; that is, verifiable images and audiovisuals from the battle grounds.

“For instance, the Chadian military’s liberation of Dikwa in Borno left no one in doubt with abundant visuals of their victory reported independently. Not quoting a Chadian military spokesperson. This stirred up a victorious spirit and stronger confidence in the operations.

“Our government and the military must come to terms and appreciate that presently, they have an integrity/credibility deficit, due to the litany of misinformation, disinformation, inconsistencies and outright falsehoods in the past. Accurate reporting in times of war is a critical tool for winning battles.”

The group wondered if military intelligence was lagging in the light of ongoing attacks by Boko Haram.

The coalition said it learnt from military sources that the current offensives were meant to keep Boko Haram at bay, because the Multi-National Joint Taskforce is yet to deploy troops, and questioned the wisdom behind the six weeks timeline for the offensive against the insurgents.

“Given the history of failed promises and dashed hopes for Nigerians, especially the Chibok parents, we wish to advise our Presidency to do the utmost to avoid a repeat of the unsavoury past,” the BBOG said.
