Yeah, But I am unsure what is stamped on my passport.

Hello gurus in the House, On August 5th, I got an update on my IRCC portal which was my letter of Introduction, and a document number with the status of Your document is valid.

Then, on August 9th, I got another message from VFS. It said they received my application from the IRCC Office and sent it to the Canada Visa Application Centre in Abuja OC.

But here's where it gets a bit confusing. I got a message saying my passport was sent from the Canada Visa Application Centre in Abuja OC on August 11th (9:20 AM), through their courier partner. Just a little while ago (5:20 PM), I got yet another message on my portal. This time, they gave me a new Letter of Introduction and a new document number where the status says the document is valid. The thing is, the original document and application status that they showed before now say "Your document is Invalid.". So I have two documents the first one says invalid and the other is valid.

I'm feeling a bit unsure about this because I'm not sure if the visa on my passport is the one they're saying is invalid. Especially since I just found out my passport left CVAC today. My flight is supposed to be on August 16th, and I'm starting to worry that this might cause any issues at the airport.

If anyone has been through something similar or has any advice, I'd really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

The process is quite slow now, you should get another email that the passport has been sent to VFS Abuja, and then another email that is has gotten to Lagos if you submitted at Lagos. This when your courier can then pick it up. All these should happen between now and Monday.

Please what does counterfoil status means cos I also just submitted my passport for stamping on 17th July and I got a mail yesterday that its ready for collection in Abuja and my eligibility also got reviewed on my portal and that was all.

Login into your profile you should see the status of your visa (Expiry Date) this mostly likely means that IRCC has stamped your Passport.

Good Morning guys, I submitted my passport to VFS on the 18th of July (3 weeks) but I am still yet to get any reasonable email from them regarding the status of my Passport. The last Message I go was that my Passport is still under process at the IRCC office and I received this mail on the 31st of July. My counterfoil status about the expiry of my Visa came was update on my IRCC Portal on the 4th of August which most likely means that my Visa has been stamped. I have reached out to VFS through the web chat, however, the customer representative that responded to me keeps giving me the same generic response i got for my last email. The question now is should i send more mails to VFS or go and visit them (Considering that i paid for my passport to be delivered) ?

P.S: I initially booked my flight for tomorrow but had to reschulde it to next week wednesday because of this issue.

Hello guys, I finally got my PPR, I have been a silent observer of this wonderful forum, I have been actively following the thread since 2020 but at that time I didn’t have enough resources to follow through with the study visa application.

In 2022, I applied to the University of Calgary to pursue a master's degree in software engineering, Unfortunately, I didn’t get picked because of my first degree, you need to have some prerequisite courses which I didn’t have because I studied petroleum engineering but I got offered a master in geomatics engineering which to me was a win-win since I didn’t want my 120 CAD (application fee to waste).

Fast forward to this year I was already considering the United Kingdom because my letter acceptance didn’t come fast but as God will have it I didn’t get my admission on time event at the moment I typed this message I still haven’t received admission to both schools. Calgary did not get back to me with my letter of acceptance until May 2023.

After I received my admission letter, I also got a message that my acceptance fee of 500 CAD must be paid on or before 30 days of receiving the notification. I paid the fee and that was the only money I paid for school, no first-semester fee, or full tuition deposit. I planned out the document I was going to submit and I knew the part to work on was my home ties to Nigeria since I am not married.

I am a first-time applicant.

To anyone reading this and expecting their PPR, yours is next IJN. I also want to mention I have no travel experience in fact I was denied America Visa last year which I also stated in my application. There is no same application just find a way to say your truth and provide all the basic funds.

Yeah had the same issue but I made it known to the doctor doing the final exercise to know it’s a medical request form IRCC which he acknowledged was uploaded within 3 working days

How can I verify if the doctor has uploaded my medical result? I explained the urgency of the situation to the doctor that examined me, and he assured me that he would upload it. However, I don't want to solely rely on his assurance. Is there a way to confirm if my medical result has indeed been uploaded?

I received an email from VFS that I should submit my passport within 2 days. Do I need to book an appointment with VFS or I can just walk into the VFS office and submit my passport? I submitted my study application on the 12th of December 2022.

I didn't take pictures but I will like to answer for the ones that took pictures. The only way you can be monitored is with your webcam or the developers adding an event listener to your keyboard stroke that if you try to google the questions, If your cam is turned on then you are actually being monitored, Which I am sure my webcam wasn't activated.

I just did my test, My candid advice is that test-takers should start with the critical and verbal reasoning section first. The Numerical questions are time-consuming, you can do that last because all questions carry the same point.

The verbal section was straight forward. True/false or can not say questions. The word in the comprehension is best replaced with what word kind of questions.

For critical reasoning questions, expect questions like All roses are red, some cars are roses. then they expect you to deduce from the information. Also, an argument will be stated with a reply, they expect you to state whether the reply is based on assumption or fact from the argument.

Abstract reasoning questions were five if I am correct, there is nothing to explain go online and look for abstract reasoning examples.


Numerical questions came as percentages, ratios, means, and rates. A question was even about time zone calculation.

Also I wrote my GRE today.. Twas not as I expected. As a first time taker, I thought it was just some baby exam. I start prep August, so my prep was just approximately 2 months.

Some bad luck started following me from 6am today when I woke up, I stood straight to stretch, not knowing the fan was not really far up, I ended up cutting my right hand finger nails into two, blood everywhere. This happened because it's not my house, I didn't know the fan was low. I went to a near by chemist to treat my self. This weakened my confidence as I could nearly hold a pen. (don't stretch if u aren't familiar with the room on the day of ur test ..)
Anyways I got to the centre in abuja 8:40am, the whole check in process was carried out and we started.
I have long Bern praying for 3 quants but after the incident I pray for 3 verbal( which I wasn't good at).
I wrote the test with the pain. Typing wasn't easy. But I know I did well in the AWA, my topics were sweet, straight forward, already worked on similar topics from the ETS pool of essays. I should write about 700 words for each, could have written more if I could be faster.

The first verbal was difficult, then I hard I tough quants, then break, another equally tough verbal, now I knew the first should be the experimental as I didn't really do well. The next quants was lot tougher than most practice test I have taken. What surprise me was that my last verbal was equally tough as the previous ones, I assumed I did well in the previous verbal, probably that's
Why I got another difficult one. Little did I know that I was joking with myself, all fantasy.

I will be having a rewrite by early December, by then I should have solved the mystery of verbal.
And please I will appreciate tips on verbal because I employed all that I knew during the test.

I clicked reports score and there was my 55k staring at me on the screen..

I beg coming test takers, forget the learning of big words, the GRE dosent have big words like that, its straight forward.. Learn few words, the common ones, forget advance words and Co.. U can use magoosh flashcard for.. My problem in verbal from practice yes has always been RCs which I sometime get 3 or 4 of 10, but TC and SE are good.

Stick to one material, the most important of all is the ETS materials, all the questions that fly around are not GRE like, some are extremely tougher without clues but GRE TC and SE gives u enough clues, just learn to find it in RCs too, that's my own issue for now..

For quants, ETS is also still the best.. Then u can use magoosh or Manhattan.
Princeton practice test is a very close predictor of your real score.

Finally, I want to share my magoosh account for token with just 2 people, u can always have as many practice test and likely questions as u want. Magoosh Practice test for me is difficult than the real GRE.
