favouredmum: Hi everyone, Have been a silent reader for a long while. Tot I should give back to the thread.
I arrived Houston via Atlanta first wik of June at 34wiks with my husband. POE was smooth as the officer didn't even notice I was pregnant. He was busy jisting with my husband and stamped us in for 6 months. I had to tell him I was pregnant and he asked me to step back so he could take a look at me and asked dat we take care of the baby and pay our bills.
I had my baby at oakbend at 40wiks and 6 days. The experience was awesome. Was discharged 24hrs after delivery as baby and I were doing great. Feel into labour on my own and it was discovered dat the baby was in a posterior position during labour. Opted for a CS and my doctor advised that a VD was still possible. Active labour started at 10pm on a Tuesday and my LO came on Thursday at 3.28pm with a birth weight of 3.73kg. She said that the contractions were needed for the baby to turn before dialation would progress. I was at 3cm for over 24hrs. I give God the glory as baby and I came out alive and well. For those who are rhesus negative, ensure u get the rhogam shot as its part of your bill.
My bills as follows Doctor - $1900 Tests - $120 Hospital - $2300 Labour epidural - $900 Pediatrician - $335 Brown and associate - $155 (for mother and baby) This is what I spent on the birthing. For the pediatrician visit, I used pediatric centre and paid $108. Also got a copy of my zero balances before leaving and travelled with my baby at 2wiks and 3days.
I had an awesome host who has become good friends to my husband and I. Feel free to ask me questions as i am willing to assist in anyway I can. Congratulations. God bless your little one. Pls is who is your Doctor at oakbend and how far gone where you before you booked with them? Did you go for any antenatal visit? |

Obatity: Hello All, I 've been a silent reader of this forum and I 've learnt a lot. In the Spirit of giving back, I would like to share my Houston POE success event.
I left MMA on the 2nd via United airline @34+ wks. My fit to fly was requested for which I gave them. I checked in successfully without any issue. On the airplane I had enough leg room and used the bathroom few times and that helped me to exercise my legs.
We landed safely at Houston around 5:00+am headed to the queue, we were directed to a short queue with only whites. When it's was our turn, the cpb just asked me why I want to have my third child in the US while the first two were born in Nigeria and I simply told her good health care and she stamped us in (hubby, and two kids) 6 months and we headed to custom cos we declared money and food, at agriculture only my indomie onion chicken were trashed and we left.
Had my first appointment today and it went well. Thanks to all that gave the vital information on this forum, God bless. Congratulation. Thank God for is favour. Please which hospital are you using? |

shrekandfiona: please try not to give unconfirmed info. You can withdraw dollars from your dorm account if you have a usd dorm account. I have dorm accounts with gtb and diamond and I withdraw the currency domiciled there at any point in time What I just said is not unconfirmed, was unable to withdraw from my Gtb dom acct because they have not received alert for the money sent over 2 weeks. Until the bank in London started investigation before they sent a msg that there was a mix up. As I said earlier different banks with their own different issues. |

Even if someone sends you money gram or western union from Yankee, u shall be paid be naira not dollars. Y now You are right o. Even when money is sent to dom account they will start finding excuse not to pay the money or delay it. |

My story continues. Wore my compressor sock from doha to houston and it help a lot, no swelling at all anyway with a very active 3 year old that visit the loo every now and then an I had lots of exercise. As the journey drew to any end I felt more tired so I told my husband am asking for a wheel chair once we get to houston. Note I did not use any thru out my journey or even included it in my ticket reservation so as we landed I told one of the attendant that I need a wheel chair. One was arranged for me and off we go. Abeg wheel chair good o. The airport was crowded. Na special treatment for wheelchair o. Wheeled to the shortest line with my husband and daughter following. When it our turn at the CBP this ensures

In the spirit of giving back to this forum. I already had my visa when I came across this thread and I took time to read as much as I can, also asked some questions and was answered by wonderful people. Our vias was for vacation, so has gotten from this thread I wrote to upgrade my data and was replied ,which I printed out. Flew with Qatar airline at 32 weeks with my husband and daughter after arranging all burden of proof. Qatar airline has a fit to fly form on line which I filled with my doctor and also a letter written on the hospital letter that am fit to fly. At MMA I gave them the form when asked for fit to fly and the man refused it and insisted that he need the letter headed of the hospital, thank God I have the other letter with me. He then asked me to go to the Port health where my bump was examined and blood pressure was done and was issued a certificate of fit to fly at 28weeks because my bump measured 28cm. Flying Qatar to houston is a very long journey o. From MMA to doha is 7 hours, from doha to houston is 15 hours with 9 hour stopover, they were to give us accommodation but they said it was full and we had to stay in their business class lounge. |

Toks07: Seriously? Wetin CBN want self? From what has been said I think it all depends on the bank and the branch. I have stanbic and access bank account and they said they are not issuing PTA for now. Fidelity was the saving grace although they said we need to operate the account for 3 month before we can get. My husband opened the account and applied a week later and we were given. Let's all pray for God's grace and favour as we embark on this journey. |

I bought using my passport n after I maxed out on d limit, I bought using my wife's passport... Apparently u can use a relative's passport and ticket as long as both personalities are there. The guy made me called wifey out to meet me up at the branch n physically collect d Benjamins.
PS: I have ran the account 9 years going now.
Pls do your wife have an account with them or she collected using your account? |

I sent the notification to the Abuja embassy. Don't have the address for Lagos but it's on the thread somewhere.
consularabuja@state.gov Dear Sir/Madam,
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE IN TRAVEL PLAN I am writing to notify the embassy of a change in my travel plans. I have a B1/B2 visa which was obtained for a family vacation. I am now pregnant and we have decided to have our baby in the USA. I have made proper arrangements by contacting a hospital and a doctor in the USA for this purpose and we have adequate finances to cover all expenses. I understand that my Visa covers for the purpose but would like to request that you kindly update my records to reflect this change in travel plans. Kindly advise if there is any other thing I would need to know before embarking on my trip. Thank you. Thank you once again. I just want to know if you added any information from your passport page. |
