I am working with my lawyer on the petition as I write. Agarawu23 played a central role and I thank him. He was about to be duped of $10,000 as well and I blew it. He was the one Segun Ajayi wanted to use as a middleman for a $150,000 transaction to the US and I was supposed to be scammed by the same guy who scammed me of N17,500,000 in July (I was able to retrieve N15,500,000 back same day). Agarawu23 was helpful to be used as a bait to smoke Segun out of his hideout in Akute. I have full details of his multiple identities on Nairaland, his cronies within Nigerian banks, the bank accounts he uses to deceive people that he and his partners especially his girlfriend, Awele in Lekki Phase 1, the short lets he stayed and used fake bank alerts for in 1004, VGC, Lekki 1, Banana Island, Chevy View Estate etc, his partner, Gbemi whose car Segun used to stand surety at VGC Police Station for another fake alert case . I have details of the hotels he 'owned' at Fadeyi and his cronies in Festac. I have details of his parents in Ibadan and their property in Ekiti. I should have a good case and once the tech expert I was asked to bring in comes and retrieves the information on his phones (there are 4 of them) and laptops, we should have the full picture. He runs several accounts on NL. One of them is Tobisky23. I will share some of his tricks later.

@stagger. Thank you for this picture. My neighbour's case was much worse. 100 acres of maize. His workers even went the extra mile and used a boom sprayer to spray non-selective herbicides at around week 4 or 5 after planting. The entire farm except the few (less than 5%) plants that escaped survived. Herbicides (or any other chemical at that) needs proper knowledge. One needs to study the active ingredients and be sure (and double sure) that the chemical will not adversely affect the crops. Whenever you have a tiny doubt, spray it on one or two plants and watch the effect over few days.

Yield potential is clearly written on the bag. 5 to 7 tonnes per acre. I have not planted Oba 98 before but I am aware it gives the best yield of all Premier Seeds maize varieties, just that is it white. If any seed company gives you yield potential, ask for actual yield on the farm. Potential yield is yield achieved in small demonstration farms (ideally one or two plots) with treated soil, no weed at all, optimal spacing, optimal fertilizer application etc. These are ideal or near ideal conditions and cannot be achieved on real farms. How do I use treated soils for a farm of 160 acres?
Not possible. So for 7 to 8 tonnes per hectare, one should expect between 3 to 5 and with a lot of hard work, maybe 6. Let me give an example.
I saw Pioneer Seed ad and called. Their yield potential is 10 to 12 tonnes per hectare. When I probed further, I discovered that 93% of the farmers get about 5.6 tonnes per hectare. That is the number one can work with not potential.

Non selective. Spray on the same day or second day or at worst within 3 days. Immediately the maize starts coming out, you can't spray any longer.

If your farm is not 'big', manual weeding is the solution. Spraying a farm with grown crops takes some expertise which most farmers don't have

From what I know,atrazine is effective against weed seeds and seedlings.I.e it kills small weed seedlings and prevents their seeds from sprouting. If you want to spray an overgrowing field mix the attrazine with glyphosate.Try to keep the mixture agitated,or better yet spray glphosate first then after the weed go down spray atrazine to prevent germination of weed seeds.

Really sorry about this, The first case as described is ARMY WORM ATTACK, really destructive to maize. Buy Army Force (N500 per small bottle and each bottle is enough for 2 16-ltr Knapsack Sprayer) or Ampligo (each sachet is N1,300 and it's administered one sachet to one sprayer).
Obviously, Ampligo is more expensive but much stronger. Ampligo can stay for up to 29 days and will even prevent army worms from another farm coming in. Second issue, you have a couple of options. Ensure the farm is clean and weeds are not growing especially in around the perimeters of your farm. Second, you can set traps and get some bush meat. Overall, protect your crops. That's your investment

2, Rodents are cutting down the maize from the stem near the root. This rodents are really destructive. They do suck the liquid at the stem base of the plant, and so the entire plant is rendered useless.
Pls anyone with a perfect solution to this. Mind you, I fence it round with bamboo and mosquito net, block all holes used as hiding place for this rodent but some are still troubling the plant
