Crime / Re: Nairalander Jethro2(Yinka Adeshola) arrested by EFCC(photo) by TokyoBulls(m): 2:33pm On Oct 10, 2019 |
Let's not mix these matters. The Coop in Abeokuta is on one side. All the investments and monies collected on people are on the other side. It was not her fault that the Coop shut down, maybe but what has happened to people's contributions and savings that are in the Coop account? She said the money is in the account. It's been 6 years. The money is still in the account? What has stopped her from paying the people who contributed? This is not same as those monies they contributed to invest. Monies collected monthly for savings and monthly dues. ifedola28: |
Crime / Re: Nairalander Jethro2(Yinka Adeshola) arrested by EFCC(photo) by TokyoBulls(m): 10:17pm On Oct 09, 2019 |
To add some credence to his point especially as regards to the Cooperative in Abeokuta (it all started from Nairaland) and the farming investments. He has some points. 1. I was a member of the Cooperative as well and invited my wife, my brother and two friends. 2. There are several questions on accountability and integrity to be answered and she and the executive have been asked and until they answer, these questions will remain. She was the Secretary and the harrow head of the Coop and a signatory to the bank accounts. 3. I attended many of the meetings and contributed monthly and added dues. Same for the other people. 4. One of my friends also invested N400,000 or so for the Coop joint cassava farming project. 5. I travelled for a period and came back to be informed that the Coop had closed down. No audit (which is compulsory annually) was done over the years, no account status or statement was provided, members' funds were not paid to them but the Coop was shut down. 6. I asked questions and am still asking but they (Jethro2 and the President) said the funds were still in the Coop account (both of them are signatories to the account) but somehow money has not been paid since 2013 or so. We have made several efforts but still members have not been paid. 7. What shocks me is that the Coop that was shut down still has a functional account in Oyo State which is the bank account that Jethro2 uses for her trainings. How can you close down a Coop in Abeokuta, then keep the funds of the members trapped for 5/6 years but the Facebook page, bank accounts etc keep running and all for personal use? And who are the signatories to the new account and when was a decision taken by the Coop to open this account? 8. More questions, more questions. The more questions you ask, the more questions you see you need to ask about the sincerity of purpose and integrity of the Coop Executives. I am not surprised that this EFCC case is coming on the back on such. There have been many cases of 'joint farming' or 'cluster farming' in the last 6 years and they all ended in same way - Both capital and returns never get paid. ifedola28: 3 Likes |

GTBank's Quickcredit offers the lowest now at 1.75% per month flat and no admin, management, legal, etc fees at all. I think Access also has one and offers 4%. Most of the others like Page, Zedvance, RenMoney, Fairmoney, etc will take 4 to 6% per month and fees apply for some. calabaman: |

The depositor can call the police and report the case as fraud. Simple. Police will check for records and investigate. Takes few hours. They will then immediately get a court injunction and place the account on hold and instruct the bank to refund the money. The $2,500 will be paid to the Police and bank gets it back from the customer. Entire process can be completed in 2-3 days. ucosuagwu: 1 Like |

Truth is better. Gift cards. Cash deposits. Checks. If you worked for the money, you sure know what the market rate is and know places to change money. N250? N320? N330? N340? N345? Of course not. 1 Like |

You see. There is one secret code I know that works and a very experienced former US consular on Quora, Kathryn Berck confirmed it once. The more documents you carry, the less your chances of being legit. You are working, how frequently you work is to bring in complexities. No need to carry employment statement. Go with your bank statement, however, the more important bank statement is that of the sponsor, which in this case can be you or your DH. mpres: 5 Likes |

Yes. Fees and charges vary considerably and you need to ask a lot of questions. In the US, 'terms and conditions' always apply. A Nigerian lady in Irving last week started crying when the hospital told her the cost of circumcision was $2,200, and it was never mentioned at any point before then. Later, someone approached her to tell her she could talk to her doctor and when she did, the doctor offered to do same circumcision for $300 but (definitely) not within the hospital premises. Hearing test may be $475 if you pay after delivery but $150 if you pre-pay. There are many situations like this concerning bills and you have to ask many questions and make many phone calls and send many emails. ikillmods: 1 Like |
